Disambiguation link notification for September 29[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2011 Tanzania Music Awards, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Swahili (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Category:Lists of hospitals in Thailand[edit]

Hi Jennes

I see you want to upmerge Category:Lists of hospitals in Thailand.

However, the nomination process hasn't worked properly, and you also emptied the category before nomination which is a no-no.

Please can you revert those edits which emptied the category? Then I'll help you do the nomination properly. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 13:36, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi BrownHairedGirl, thanks for your reaction! Sorry about that, I emptied it before I read the instructions about deleting a category. Won't happen again.. :) I have reverted the changes I made. There was only one page in this category though. I think I have added it correctly now to the Categories for discussion page. User:Jennes83 14:02, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Don't worry, the glitches are easily fixed. It can be difficult learning these procedures, and it's great that you are engaging with the process. I wish it was less cumbersome.
There's just one step still missing: tagging the category, to alert other editors that it it under discussion. You need to edit the category page, and add at the top {{subst:cfm|Hospitals in Thailand}}
That will tag it ... and as you can see, the tag includes a shortcut to creating the entry on the discussion page. Next time, if you start with the tag, you'll find the process much easier. Good luck! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 14:19, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

Note of appreciation[edit]

Just wanted to say nice job on your recent contributions to the So You Think You Can Dance articles. The new templates look good and the category maintenance is well overdue! Glad you caught those Dutch words in the Netherlands/Belgium versions as well; I almost always end up with a few of those when I do translations for content, but that stuff was up almost a year - woops... Anyway, keep up the good work! Snow (talk) 08:33, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Hand-coding[edit]

Hey all :).

I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyes@wikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).

If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-officeconnect. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:53, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Template:Years in France[edit]

The collection of years is getting larger. I think categories are sufficient enough and easier to use. We can edit categories, but templates are a lot of work. --George Ho (talk) 07:07, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:11, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
