re: "Article banners"

[edit]

I'm not sure if the issues have been fully resolved. The main concern is that the article still has a promotional undertone as well as some dubious sections. I'll discuss specifics on the article talk page. -Reconsider! 05:28, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Verifiable, yes. Objective, maybe not. I think the article is in a grey area where it is not an outright advertisement but at the same time it is not 100% objective, perhaps tainted by the intent of the writer(s). Questionable content include: "Consumers are able to try products and receive advice". What is the purpose of detailing such obvious practices? That, along with the section on the "Clubcard" section appears to be actively encouraging the reader to shop at "Priceline". Also, citing other articles as a reason to include particular sections is not really a valid argument because someone could just as easily remove the section under the same premise that I stated. Articles are not static, and are subject to change. It may not be disputed yet, but inaction does not necessarily imply a consensus. It is probably best to continue this discussion on the article talk page. We'll see what others have to say about the matter. -Reconsider! 04:39, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Smallworldsocial. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "SecurePay".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 08:02, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:Madeline Sands.jpg

We hereby affirm that Small World Social is the creator and/or sole owner of the exclusive copyright of image Madeline Sands. We uploaded it to Flickr here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/smallworldsocial/14050131111/.

The SquareSpace website is owned by our company, Small World Social. If you visit this website: http://www.smallworldsocial.com/, then click on Project, you will be taken to our SquareSpace website. We own every single image on that webpage.

File permission problem with File:Priceline store.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Priceline store.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 05:29, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Hello. As you may have already noticed, I've answered your question at the articles for creation help desk. I understand that you want to comply with Wikipedia's policies, but I'm afraid your username does not.

Usernames that represent organizations are not allowed because they tend to be promotional and can imply that they are used by more than one person, which is not allowed. Accounts with such usernames are often blocked from editing. Please choose a username that represents yourself as an individual. You can simply create a new account (and perhaps note on your new user page that you've edited under this name), or you can request a change in username, which will transfer all your contributions from this account to a new name. Nomination of Madeline Sands for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Madeline Sands is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Madeline Sands until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Sionk (talk) 16:08, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Google Glass Breastfeeding app trial has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not sure how the intersection of a piece of technology with a human biological function is notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi Hastuer, You may not view women's health as an important issue and one that is note worthy, however many other people do. Perhaps focus your attention on deleting other entries that arent as important to so many millions of women and their babies around the world.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Conflict of interest

[edit]

There are a couple of articles where I think you've forgotten to declare your interest, eg. Australian Breastfeeding Association and Peter Wegner (Australian artist). Deb (talk) 09:28, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Peter Wegner (Australian artist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.latrobe.edu.au/events/all/lai-art-forum-the-aesthetics-of-aging. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa (talk) 21:43, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
