Tawkerbot2
[edit]I'm surprised it would revert you. I thought you were on the whitelist. Sorry about the malfunction. joshbuddytalk 04:32, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I added a new filter, that I have since removed, and frankly its caused me a lot of grief. Oh well, we learn through pain. Another part of the recent "problems" is that Tawkerbot2 is now looking at many many more edits. (close to 10 times as before) This has caused many more false positives, but its given some very interesting insights and a heck of lot more testing. Writing an anti-vandal bot is tough. joshbuddytalk 04:38, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Lightdarkness. Just a quick note to thank you for your support in my RfA, which recently passed 62/13/6. I will do my very best live up to this new responsibility and to serve the community, but please let me know if I make any mistakes or if you have any feedback at all on my actions. Finally, if there is anything that I can assist you with - please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers TigerShark 03:54, 4 April 2006 (UTC) |

Speedy Delete: Michael Kight
[edit]Thank you very much for moving the discussion to the appropriate AFD page; I'm afraid that, being rather new, I'm not familiar with these types of things. I think its pretty much resolved (the consensus seems to be "speedy delete"), and I'm glad this was done in an open and democratic way as opposed to the previous debacle where a user decided to delete it without a proper discussion. » K i G O E | talk 01:22, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
ARV script
[edit]Hello lightdarkness, I'd like to use your ARV tool, as I find myself reporting vandalism quite often. Thanks! - Tangotango 05:07, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your script! I've installed it, but I haven't found any vandals yet to report ;). I'm sure it'll be a great help to me. Cheers, Tangotango 13:53, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi lightdarkness, I too would like to use your ARV script. I'm quite a regular on AIV so anything to quicken the process up would be great. --Wisden17 19:40, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Images from premieres and and other events do generally not fall under the promo photo license, and there is no way to know if the image actually came from the actor's management (also, according to her site info [2] many of her photos are from third parties). One of the requirements of WP:FUC is that fair use material is to be used to illustrate the larger work in question, and it can not replace the original market role of the original work.
Anyway, you could probably use an image from her studio gallery, because a photo from the same shoot is used as her imdb image which states that it was provided by her agent.--Fallout boy 21:56, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Another ARV
[edit]Tried installing, doesn't appear to work (either on FF or IE). Please assist. :) RadioKirk talk to me 18:30, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the assist. It didn't seem to show up when I first fixed it, but now I'm on a different computer without FireFox. I'll let you know when I'm back on the main computer, thanks. :) RadioKirk talk to me 13:43, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, still not working. I would guess that some other code is precluding its function. Thanks in advance for your further assistance. RadioKirk talk to me 16:16, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- K, checked the errors as you suggested (man, I'd forgotten that was there...) and the first problem was an error in a function called "modifysavebutton" or somesuch. I checked a few other users' monobook.js files and the funtion wasn't there, so I removed it. Cleared everything, still no Report button, then got an error in my popupsdev.js file so I grabbed a newer one from Lupin (I think). Now I get a "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [nsIXMLHttpRequest.status]" error on line 1173 of the new popupsdev.js—and still no Report tab. I think I'm lost now ;) RadioKirk talk to me 16:59, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- It's there now, thanks :D I'll let you know if anything breaks (and, I copied someone else's mb.js, I don't remember whose—if you see anythig obvious, let me know :) RadioKirk talk to me 18:24, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 13:50, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

LDBot at Afd
[edit]Hi. Thanks for getting the Afd thing automated again. It seems to be prematurely moving current discussions to the "old" section, however. The discussions should be open for five days, and are "old" at the start of the sixth. An Afd added at 23:00 on 7 April will have only been open for 4 days and one hour at 00:00 on the 12 April. Could you fix this? Do you know if the bot is going to be a permanent replacement for AFD Bot, by the way? Flowerparty? 01:05, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, cheers for that. I'll eagerly look forward to tomorrow's update ;) I wondered if you had some inside gen on AllyUnion, or anything, but obviously not. Can't help but miss that AFD Bot fellow. Flowerparty? 01:23, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Hangman
[edit]I'm trying to maybe get another hangman game started on Wikipedia:Hangman but it's like a ghost town and hardly anybody's edited it since March 17. I signed my name on the application form for hangman: Wikipedia:Hangman/application. Am I supposed to start a new game myself or will someone else do it? I thought you might know since you appearantly hosted the last game. Jonathan W 03:12, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Only Vandals are people like LIghtdarkness, Herostratus, Curps
[edit]April 12th attack The most recent attack, which occured at 4:00UTC'ish, contained many more proxies than usual. From the usual <20, to roughly 51 proxies used.
Just an observation --lightdarkness (talk) 13:36, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Non-sense, I know the person and he has not been doing any attacks since late March, so put that on squidword talk page, since only registered members can place information. You will have to follow the pattern, just because it is open proxy, does not mean it is him, since it can come from anywhere, why is it that you administrators are so foolish and complete no good doers? Hey, may be it was you who did it, trying to get your goals across you fool?

[edit]Hi there. I've applied the Godmode Light fix you detailed at User:Lightdarkness/GML Fix but I still can't seem to get the script to work. It seems to be working OK but then I get Error on page ("Object doesn't support this property or method").

Congratulations
[edit]Hey there. Congratulations, you've just been made a sysop! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except junk like "LALALALAL*&*@#@THIS_SUXX0RZ"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, ban anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on Votes for deletion (provided there's a consensus) for more than one week, protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.
Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun!— Ilyanep (Talk) 23:56, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
