Douche?

[edit]

why did you delete the page about the man/woman connor nelson? It's medical condition is one that may help to cure gays. i have reason to believe that you are a douche who supports gays and the devil. You sir, are a liar and cheat. Good day.

Does this count?

[edit]

Mr. Nawlin, Would you take a school paper as an independant source? Or a local free news flyer that pubishes information about the indie music scene?

I'm trying.

[edit]

Mr. Nawlin, The date is a mistake. I thought this was october. The label was actually created in August. I would think that a label that had been able tot ake off this fast within this two month span is worth mentioning.

I'm trying.

[edit]

Mr. Nawlin, Don't give me your condescending bullshit.

In a bank robbery in oklahoma, a man was trapped inside in a hostage situation. "Where are the cameras?" he asked, "wheres the news?" He was so concerned that this event would not be televised. He was afraid that if it was not on the news that it would never have happened. but it did.

Artshore records is that event. We dont have extensive news coverage, because newspapers dont often write articles about indie record labels. They just dont. I can site flyers, people, posters, venue bulletin boards, and the backs of CDs, but I can give you no news articles. But if you ask me, I shouldn't have to. If this was not a legitimate business, why on earth would I be fighting to keep it up?

Before long we will have the sources to site, but for now, I can give you no news. Please. Leave it be.

I'm trying.

[edit]

Mr. Nawlin, I would love to establish a more credible article, but you delete it before I can even finish it. Thanks. What sort of references would it take to make you leave it alone? Other than artshores webpage, there is very little web presence, hence the creation of this article. I'll do whatever you ask within reason, but let me assure you, this record label does exist, people have heard of them, and they are legitimate. Web presence is not the only proof of existence.

It wasn't a test.

[edit]

Mr. Nawlin, The Artshore Records Article WAS NOT a test. It was a legitimate article. I am offended that you would take it down just becuase YOU'VE never heard of us. I can assure you that hundreds in the Orange County area have heard of Artshore, or one of the artists signed to them.

My sincerest appologies

[edit]

Mr. Nawlin, I am truly sorry for calling you a racist. It is just that when people go around accusing me of making my tribe up, I gte horrifically offended, my tribe tried for years to be recognized as a country's tribe, and finally we triumphed, Malawi accepted us! We were exstatic! If I offended you, I am truly sorry, and I will redo a whole new page on our tribe, once I find a website to site my sources. My whole point was that I just made the page yesterday, and had not gotten a chance to site my sources.

Hmmmm...

[edit]

That comment is true! How many tribes do you know of, get created in 1995, then almost 11 years later, get to be a tribe of an african country? We are the first that I have heard of.

DELETE ME

[edit]

DELETE ME! See if give adays care, you do not take into considerationn that the Serozza are a REAL tribe of Malawi (an Eastern African COuntry), which does have a Queen! If there is going to be such racism on this website, then DELETE ME! You people make me sick! Your racism and slers, are what makes this world wrong. Do you even know that there are thousands of Kings and Queens in Africa, not just europe? I suggest that do some research, and get your facts straight! Our new webpage will be up soon, and Just beacause you "think" that I "made this lineage" up, just means that you are a pessimist! Only about 100 out of the like, 100,000 tribes of Africa have any information on their tribes on the internet.

Queen Lucretia I (deleted?)

[edit]

NawlinWiki, I dont see why you refer to this page as vandalism, I just started it yesterday, and am trying to finish it, that is why there are no sources and it has very little content, but thats why I was working on it this morning. Why do you call it vandalism? Its only a Biographical page? Such as one for the other tribal leaders of Africa?

Fwenty

[edit]

I spent over an hour on a barely fictional word that has been in existence for years and years. Hundreds of people know about it, and I don't see why you can't spare a few kilobytes for my page. What? Bandwidth problems? Then who had the idea of creating an online encyclopedia? If I have to get a petition for my page, I can assure you I can get at least a hundred people easy. By what basis is the word nonsense? I bet I can name an obscure Indian or African language with only 10 speakers. But of course, that is valid over 100 people. Fwenty is real, its 35, and you shouldn't be so stingy on deciding which pages stay.

Quick question about new article validity

[edit]

I created a page about an amateur baseball league in Boston, the BMBL, and they run a notable charity event each year, called the 100 Inning Game, to raise money for Curt's Pitch for ALS. Each year, either Curt Schilling or his wife, Ronda Schilling, makes an appearance at this event, and it usually garners a lot of media attention, both local and regional (and occasionally national, such as last year when one of the primary umpires suffered from ALS, which made it a big human-interest story for even the big news outlets), and is the record holder for the longest regulation baseball game ever played (Guiness World Records application still pending). Is this notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia article if supported with proper citation? I have created the article at 100 Inning Game and would like you to look at it as it grows (I still need to add a lot more to it, so please allow a few days for me to finish the article) and see if it's notable enough to warrant continued existance. Thank you! -- Ubergenius 16:24, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dark Abrahms

[edit]

Why would you do that? Why would you intentionally delete the article I was working on when I specifically requested the opposite? I gave a reasonable explanation for my point, I think that I at least deserve the same from you. I feel the way you dealt with my article (which IS relevant by the way, look it up) was unfair, unjust, and disappointing.

However, I understand that my article was incomplete, a situation which I was hard a work remedying. I will create a more substantial article on Gregory Mitchell Darr, and hopefully this new one will meet everyone's approval!

The article in question was about a prodigious young con man "Gregory Mitchell Darr". Once again I would like to emphasize that this is NOT an attack page or vanity page. But do not worry if it is unsalvageable; I have the original text saved and can expect several more full pages on the aforementioned topic.

Thanks very much for your consideration, sincerely

  • Thanks for your corrections and suggestions. As you may have guessed, this is my first wikipedia article, and

I am still unfamiliar with all the conventions. I had planned to add verifiable sources a bit later on as well as adding a whole lot more content. On a side note, little is known about Darr's past; he was orphaned at the age of five. But, hopefully with the input from you and other wikipedians, my next article will be much improved! I will definetely be sure to include my sources and back all of this information up! Thanks again!*

Fixed-Wind Aircraft Edit

[edit]

Thanks for your message. I was not experimenting with the page. There were TWO pages with the same title and if you look at the history, there was a very foul language phrase used in the duplicate page for the fixed-wing aircraft. I removed that and was then trying to re-direct this to the actual fixed-wing aircraft page. Thanks for removing the duplicate page altogether! -)

I understand. I will have to learn how to do that! Will look out on the Help section.

I made the same mistake as you a few weeks back, thought that a user like this was creating fake user pages, when they were, in fact, tagging banned vandals. I made myself look silly by reporting it to AIV (not the first or last time). Seems every day a new username is created to tag the user pages of vandals. Maybe a throwaway username is used to prevent retaliation? I'm guessing it's a sock of some admin or volunteer editor. Fan-1967 18:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bones for Life rev 2

[edit]

Since you were the one that caught the original Bones for Life -- Wellness through Movement Intelligence article, would you have time to take a look at the second attempt at the article, Bones for Life? Basically, they're not linking as they did earlier, and are coming up with references after a great deal of prodding to do so. Supriem David Rockefeller

[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you speedy deleted an article, Supriem David Rockefeller, under CSD a1 as patent nonsense. I am not the author, but last I saw the article, it said "Supriem David Rockefeller is Chairman of S.D. Rockefeller Holdings, Ltd", or something to that effect. I did find this press release: "S.D. Rockefeller Holdings, LTD. Announces Supriem (Bank and Trust Company), The Future of Banking". I also found this MySpace page: SUPRIEM ROCKEFELLER at MySpace. Is this some kind of elaborate hoax? Was the article changed after I saw it? What am I missing? (I am not at all questioning your decision to delete; I'm honestly just curious...) Your archived talk pages...

[edit]

...were hosted at Talk:NawlinWiki/Archive 2: July-August 2006 instead of User Talk:NawlinWiki/Archive 2: July-August 2006. I've moved them to the User Talk namespace and tagged the old articles with {{db-g6}} (which, since you're an admin, you can delete, I guess). I was looking at my article talk space edit count and was confused that you were listed, but it's an easy enough mistake. I hope I didn't step on your toes! Cheers. -- Merope 20:51, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, since I'm anal about stuff like this (which explains why I'm on Wikipedia), one archive is called "Archive 1" and the other is called "Archive 2: July-August 2006". Hi there. I was recently participating in a discussion at Wikipedia:Numbers need citations, and was surprised to find the page deleted. I investigated further and discovered that this was due to "g5" of the speedy deletion criteria (created by a sock puppet of a banned user). I'm bringing this to your attention because you were the deleting admin. I've had this happen at least once before (have a talk page suddenly disappear on me), and that time I managed to save the page and debate (if I remember the example, I will provide a link). In this case, I wanted to somehow save the debate that had been taking place on the talk page of this proposed guideline - with a view to adding something of the sort to WP:CITE or a related page. There were some useful comments on that talk page. I'd appreciate any advice on how best to handle this. I've also copied this to User_talk:Mackensen (the CheckUser involved). Thanks. Carcharoth 06:18, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A quick update. User:Mackensen has confirmed that this is your responsibility, not his. Hope you can let me know what is best to do here. Oh. I see you've already dealt with it. Hang on. I'll start a new response. Carcharoth 12:07, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A response as promised. First, thanks for copying the content out to my subpage, however, I feel that this is not a fully adequate solution for several reasons. Firstly, there is no edit history to that text (just a record that you put it there). This means that the edits I made to that page are no longer in my contributions log. Similarly for other good-faith GFDL contributions to the discussion. I believe that this is not acceptable under the GFDL. For the similar case which I was referring to above, please see the debate that took place here. I would prefer to see a similar process take place here, with the proposed guideline page undeleted, then modified or rejected or redirected to the appropriate place (there are suggestions on the talk page already). This would prevent unintentional recreation (quite possible in good faith in cases like this), and would preserve the debate in the correct location with its full edit history. Please let me know what you think of this proposal. If you think I should try and get policy in general changed on this before requesting this, or taking this to deletion review, I would be happy to do so. Thanks. Carcharoth 12:25, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice. I have a slight problem though. I hope you will be able to advise. I am going to be away for a week soon. Do you think I should start the review anyway, or wait until I can give it my full attention? I'm guessing I should wait really, as I need to gather lots of links together. The deleted stuff will still be undeletable when I get back, right? And the deletion review doesn't have a time by when you have to start the review by does it? On the other hand, my views are pretty much laid out (or could be soon) now, so I could just find out what has happened when I get back. Hmm. Carcharoth 14:26, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't have time in the end. I'll do it when I get back. Thanks. Carcharoth 07:57, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. I see you reverted my db-bio on the above page back to a prod. I'm fine with that -- but I'd like to know if that's your intention for all nn people with prod tags? I recently changed quite a few (see my contributions - they're all marked obviously) but I don't think they should be changed back wholesale. I'd offer to help with it myself, but I'm off to bed. Please reply on my talk to let me know your response, as I was planning to get to some more people listed with prod tags (thinking I was helping out). I have been trying to keep it uncontroversial... please keep that in mind. Thanks for your time! --Storkk 03:49, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was just asked by User:TruthbringerToronto to only add a prod2 tag instead of speedying it. I'll do that from now on, unless I hear more about it from one of you. I also disagree with his assertion that the page should be moved, as that leaves a redirect on WP, but oh well. Thanks for your reply. --Storkk 04:10, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you take a look at this article and tell me what the proper course of action is? As it stands, it is rubbish. Important note: Failing to satisfy the notability guidelines is not a criterion for speedy deletion. An article that fails to even claim that the subject of the article is notable can be speedy deleted under criterion A7, however. A mere claim of notability, even if contested, may avoid deletion under A7 and require a full Article for Deletion process to determine if the subject of the article is notable.

If you have a moment, I'd appreciate you looking into something and giving me an opinion. I prodded a series of local amateur mens' baseball teams in Boston as non-notable. The teams are listed at Boston Men's Baseball League, and an example team is Boston Senators. There is no claim to notability of these individual teams, so I thought prod was appropriate. The prod has been removed on each of them, and the talk page of each contains a note which reads, "I have removed the deletion notice just this once... If an admin determines it is still not worthy of existance, simply readd the deletion notice, I will allow it to go quietly." Would you mind rendering an opinion? Or, should these go to AfD? Thanks! Done, thanks for the advice. Akradecki 19:45, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Again, may I ask why this is considered non-notable? While the individual teams may not have specific, recognizable notability, they are a component to a prominent amateur league in Boston, the BMBL. Ubergenius 14:21, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting and Locking the Jihen article.

[edit]

I'd like to protest your locking the 'Jihen' article. Normally it doesn't break the rules, it's just that it keeps getting destoryed by the same user, Saturn Dreamscape. Jihen is a website, but we arn't using wikipedia as a way to promote our site. The owners of Jihen want to use the article to keep track of major events and the like that spawns from Jihen.

People don't like the webmasters' personalites, so they attack us at every chance they get. Anyway, I'd love to talk to you about this. Though, I'm not very good with words. — Preceding unsigned comment added by No-0ne (talkcontribs)

Boston baseball teams

[edit]

Why did you encourage Akradecki to reprod the baseball team articles? Did you forget that the policy Wikipedia:Proposed deletion says that "Articles that have been previously proposed for deletion or undeleted, or discussed on AfD, are clearly contested and are not candidates for {{prod}}." Reprodding isn't appropriate except in rare WP:IAR situations; the only one of which I've seen before is someone who deprods while nominating for speedy deletion but the speedy criteria isn't met. Having been deproded before, these all should go to AFD. GRBerry 20:30, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

not quite sure how to handle this one

[edit]

We have two editors, Stattman2 (talk · contribs) and Stattman3 (talk · contribs), editing two articles, JGM: The Josh Stattman Gym Managment and The Andrew Dunsing/Josh Stattman Rivalry. I've speedied both articles as {{nonsense}} or {{db-bio}}/{{db-group}}, but they're so verbose they might not immediately be seen as nonsesne, or their content might trigger some non-speedy type reaction from other editors. The two I think are the same person, trying perhaps to dodge around policy. I think your administrative knowledge would be more useful in handling this. [edit]

MESSAGE TO ME ON MY TALK PAGE FROM NAWLIN:

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Mark Weber, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://www.adl.org/holocaust/weber.asp. As a copyright violation, Mark Weber appears to qualify for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Mark Weber has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If the source is a credible one, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GFDL, you can comment to that effect on Talk:Mark Weber. If the article has already been deleted, but you have a proper release, you can reenter the content at Mark Weber, after describing the release on the talk page. However, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. NawlinWiki 20:55, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MY RESPONSE:

I went back to the website, which had published this highly negative article on Holocaust denier, Mark Weber. There was no mention of copyright anywhere on the website. So now I see there is an assumption of copyright these days. Thanks for 'pointing it out' in your own inimitable, if not inimical, way. However, you seem to be pissing a lot of people off and you might consider having a list of points on you userpage explaining the why's and how's of your editing practices, since apparently your specialty is deleting new articles. It's a steep learning curve and not all of us have the time. It's not clear to me that you followed the cited wikipedia standards in your actions against my article.Proskauer 17:33, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

---

  • Re: Mark Weber -- I think you will find that any Wikipedia article that is a cut-and-paste from a website will be deleted as a presumed copyright violation, whether or not the website specifically asserts a copyright. See the following notice that now appears at the bottom of every edit screen:

Do not copy text from other websites without permission. It will be deleted.

Rather than taking the time you took to write me a nasty note, why not rewrite the article in your own words? I have no argument with Mr. Weber's notability, only with the cut-and-paste. NawlinWiki 18:53, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure my note quite rose to the level of nasty; I was aiming more for "irony with a certain edge" which I had hoped would fall just short of facetiousness. On the other hand, "nasty" is on the polite side of sarcastic so I guess there's some room for us to agree. I should have added that I concede your are maintaining standards on a public-forum encyclopedia, which is probably on the far side of impossible, so credit where credit's due to you.
Frankly, I'm not a terribly "visual" person. Nothing wrong with my eyesight that reading glasses won't successfully interfere with, I'm just more auditory, so I tend to miss things on the screen page that others find obvious. Probably there are a lot of people out there like me who don't consider themselves otherwise mentally deficient. Thanks for responding and explaining. I had another article deleted and blocked permanently, recently, on the basis of "lack of notability". This was IMHO a thinly veiled attack on the subject matter -- however neutral the article -- and was also IMO outright censorship and information control. However that's another issue and if you delve more deeply you'll see I have been stuck with one of the most malignant and evil disapprobations imaginable. Yes, even worse than "cigarette smoker", which I don't even do any more. Will get around to writing article later. I'm too busy trying to be humorous.Proskauer 20:53, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wow..you guys are quick, I'll give you that. Thanks for your help, and for the edit. I assume you do that for any page of a personal nature? I may add a personal links page at some point. I am a democratic, rational person. When the views of over 200 organizations and over 100,000 people ACTUALLY exist, I would like them to at least be DISCUSSED and voted upon rather than simply squashed because they're undercurrent. That's why I atteched a note and tried to begin a discussion, which is being completely written off.

Alright, I understand. My one wish is that Messianic Judaism be listed for whether or not it MAY be Judaism. That is what I consider NPOV. Either do this, or remove Humanistic "Judaism" and Samaritanism from the main Judaism article. Thank you.
Also (and I consider this detestable), why is Messianic Judaism not being listed under the alternative Judaism article anymore? Why was it removed? Please bring it back and stop being an oppressor.

Maybe notable, but I have a problem with the article, it's close to being an attack on the person - written by one of his students. e.g. "He is a self admitted nerd,..." and similar commments. --ArmadilloFromHell 17:03, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think this word means what you think it means.

[edit]

What you define as morally inappropriate is not the same as what Wikipedia considers inappropriate, or vandalism. I've read the page on vandalism. Have you?

The fact that an issue is not within the moral standards you approve of does not make it unnotable. If we applied your criteria to that page, you would also end up wanting to remove e.g. Dirty Sanchez and coprophilia. But why draw the line there? You could move forward to BDSM, Bisexuality and other silly sexual practices as well. And then, since we don't approve of those things, we should get rid of Abortion as well.

You see the slippery slope you're descending?

GWhitta wrote a valid page, and you yanked it without just cause. I restored it, and you yanked it again. If anyone is guilty of vandalism, it is you.

  • Response: The deletion has nothing to do with morals. You recreated an article that contained no verifiable sources to establish the notability of this alleged sex practice. We get several articles a day in which kids attempt to dream up the most bizarre sex acts they can and give them a funny name. The ones that have no sources get deleted. The ones that do, like Dirty Sanchez, stay. NawlinWiki 21:37, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It still fails to meet the criteria for deletion.

[edit]

One, a simple/quick Google search turns up multiple hits for the term, so it's not something that was invented yesterday.

Two, the article had been marked under the criteria for speedy deletion. It falls under neither.

And last, GWhitta and I are both well over the age of 30, not some bored kids.

Either way, suit yourself.

How do YOU have the right to decide what is vandalism or the truth???

[edit]

On a website that invites millions to add their bit to the encyclopedia, how does ONE person have the right to delete your article. I posted an article about a cricket club in Ireland. How is that vandalising wikipedia?? Some of the entries you have created are just as boring as an Irish Cricket Club, but none are vandalism. YOU are on a massive power trip.

How do you know if the cricket club is notable or not within 2 minutes. So by 'notable' you mean 'in google'??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roboconnor (talkcontribs) but you deleted my post after i had wrote 2 lines. I am meant to prove the club is 'notable' in the first sentence?

I disagree with your removing of the A7 tag and replacing it with a prod tag on the basis that "maybe [he] did something famous". There are many many articles that are deleted under A7 that actually assert importance or notability, though greatly exaggerated, and they are not replaced with prods instead. What we have right now is "here is a man, he's dead, these are his relatives." If he is notable or important the article can be recreated later but the current page shows absolutely no reason why this shouldn't have been a clear cut A7. –– Lid(Talk) 02:27, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dang, you're so fast...after I tagged Artists/John Donaldson and was adding nn-warn template to the editor's page, I got an edit conflict notice, only to find that you'd already done the deed and put your tag on it! Keep up the good work! Akradecki 13:47, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand.

[edit]

Hello. I'm wondering why you deleted the Bellingham Bulls page. The team was launched this year, and the Wikipedia page was the best compilation of Bulls-related info on the net. The official website isn't up and running yet, and this was a valuable source of information for me. I'm completely new to Wikipedia, so I don't really know how to create or edit a page, but if there was something wrong with the page that you feel needs to be corrected I will certainly try.

[edit]

hi there, my editing ability has been autoblocked by you because of some user called joss123, who shares the same IP address. This is because this IP address serves all the schools in the city of Bristol, UK and one of the kids has obviously been messing around in the past. I am a science teacher, and can assure you i won't mess up the system so could you unlock me please? Thanks, email me if there are any problems.

What was the justification for deleting this page? --Longman391 05:45, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the restoration. Can you shed any light onto why it was deleted in the first place? --Longman391 17:59, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gotchya. Yeah, all of the 'minor' leagues are pretty major up in this part of the continent. Many of these games have over 3,000 spectators and are televised regionally. You have a great team down there in the Big Easy, though! --Longman391 18:05, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

Good afternoon, my friend. I was looking at newpages and saw your name (woo hoo for protected pages!), and I thought I'd say hello. I can see you're putting your admin tools to good use, and I hope you're enjoying the ability to do so. Also, and unrelated, I hope your family is doing well. -- Kicking222 17:26, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Sorry the article was not of good enough quality. They are not common - can I re-create the article if I can find more detail? eg I can get a photo of the one on my gaff ketch. Sailorman99 18:21, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK it's a fair cop. Have to see if it gets notable enough for an entry as a fictitious item, as eg Dilithium. Sailorman99 18:51, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, chill a sec, ask or talk to me will ya?

[edit]

So. What exactly is wrong with me putting info on me, Kelly Craig, here KellyCraig ?

Others have it, such as Kevin_Mitnick amoung many others.

So why is it those pages are accetable, but mine isnt? Was it taken and I was pushing someone else off? No.

Would you just talk about it before you go deleting things :/

PS: I didnt see your post in my talk area, or I would have posted here before posting the page a second time. So, what do you say to the above? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kelly™ (talkcontribs)

From this page you gave me. WP:BIO "This is not intended to be an exclusionary list; just because someone doesn't fall into one of these categories doesn't mean an article on the person should automatically be deleted."
