Disambiguation link notification for April 17
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Musée Archéologique de Dijon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Étaules. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:55, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
Request for rename
[edit]Unless anyone raises an objection, I am willing to make the change of user name you requested. If I do so you will find you can't log in under your old user name. That is no problem, you just log in with your new user name and the same password, but it can be confusing or alarming to suddenly be told you can't log in, so I like to warn editors before renaming. Please post here to show you have read this message, and if I am still online I'll go ahead with renaming; if not, I'll do it when I get back. JBW (talk) 20:43, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- @JBW: Yes, please go ahead. Thank you. Deku link (talk) 21:10, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- As you requested, I have renamed your account from "Deku link" to "Paragon Deku". JBW (talk) 22:05, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
International Museum Day
[edit]Hi Deku: A fellow editor just posted today at DYK that 18 May is "International Museum Day". The plan is now to run several dedicated queues of museum-related hooks, and I wondered if you'd like to have your recently-promoted Musée Archéologique de Dijon added to that list (which would mean waiting until the 18th to run it). Absolutely no pressure – it's already scheduled to run in a few days, and can continue there if you'd prefer. But if you'd like to include it on "museum day", please let us know here. Thanks! Notification
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

DYK for Musée Archéologique de Dijon
[edit]On 18 May 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Musée Archéologique de Dijon, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Musée Archéologique de Dijon holds dozens of religious offerings to the pagan goddess Sequana? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Musée Archéologique de Dijon. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Musée Archéologique de Dijon), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK for Senkyoshigo
[edit]On 9 July 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Senkyoshigo, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Mormon missionaries in Japan converse with each other in a specialized cant known as Senkyoshigo? FYI
[edit]I'm not very good at moderating my manner of speech by text (though I work on it), but I figured I'd let you know that I'm more of a Foul-Mouthed Goofball than an Angry Internet Warrior. If I say something to you that seems bitter and confrontational, I almost certainly don't mean it that way, it's just me failing miserably at sarcastic and funny. When I'm actually bitter and in the mood to set someone straight, I'm a right bastard of the "indef him immediately and pray to god he doesn't hack anyone" variety, so I tend to step away when I get upset.
I don't think anything you said reflected poorly on you, and I apologize if I gave you the impression that I did. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 21:39, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- It’s quite ok, having had discussions with more aggressive Wikipedians lately has just put me a bit on edge. I realize what perspective you (and the article) are coming from now on this topic, and I’m not upset in the slightest. Thanks for taking the time to hash it out. Paragon Deku (talk) 21:45, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- I understand that quite well. I once got to the point of frustration with civil POV pushers where I said "fuck it" and doxxed one as a Neo-Nazi pedophilia advocate. He was blocked (of course), but I spent 2 years indeffed for doxxing. I'm not even exaggerating, check my block log and the collapsed bit at the very top of my talk page.
- Believing in a goal like WP's necessarily carries some emotional investment, it's just the nature of being a Wikipedian. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 22:19, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Radio of Free Asia
[edit]Hey - I've created Talk:Radio of Free Asia to try and work on improving this page. Having done a deep dive it's kind of driving me crazy all the links to various intelligence and religious organisations and I don't know what to do with it! Vladimir.copic (talk) 04:21, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- I absolutely hear you, I was driven to the brink of madness attempting to study it and the other Radio Free Asia at the same time (that's why I made the page in the first place, to differentiate them). I must have screenshotted 20+ newspaper articles on my phone when I first went down a research dive. I really appreciate the work you've put in on it, I really think it's underdiscussed in historical sources. I might be able to eventually write up a proper journal article on the topic if I have the time. Paragon Deku (talk) 04:24, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
AfC for Vaush
[edit]I recently created a draft for an article on Vaush. However, upon seeing that an article on him was recently deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vaush, I decided to put the article through the AfC process instead of moving it straight to mainspace. If you have any comments feel free to discuss the draft page at its talk page Draft talk:Vaush. Thanks. Alduin2000 (talk) 20:25, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Eastern Europe DS

Totalitarian Architecture, round 2
[edit]Hey Paragon Deku,
Thanks for re-nominating the article. That said - and mentioning this on the talk page rather than the AFD because maybe you just got distracted in the middle - per WP:CANVASS, if you want to inform previous attendees at an AFD about a new AFD, you need to inform either all of them or none of them. You can skip obviously retired accounts, and Andrew Davidson is topic-banned from AFD so you can skip him too, but basically you should be sure to ping keep voters like Piotrus and BD2412 too. SnowFire (talk) 02:25, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. I was too focused on informing page editors and people immediately on the talk page that I got distracted, I'll remedy that ASAP. Paragon Deku (talk) 03:55, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
While I have reservations about the enforcement of WP:BLP around specific topics regarding The Troubles, upon reflection I can concede that my violation was stupid, hasty, disruptive, and inflammatory. There was no excuse for it given prior warning, and it was ultimately simply a bad move. I will be the first to admit that I have a tendency to angle towards WP:SOAP style confrontations that are neither beneficial to my argument nor to the project, and deciding to put such information on my user page was obviously both a faux pas and completely unproductive. I will gracefully accept punishment for my action, given some time off would allow me to keep a cool hand on the issue, but I believe it would be more prudent for this to manifest as either a shorter site-wide block or as a topic ban on issues relating to The Troubles. I believe I have shown a career of non-disruptive and productive editing related to other contentious topics, and I have demonstrated contributions in less contentious areas consistently. I regret my negative and snarky reactions towards administration who were simply enforcing current policies and hope that this can be alleviated. Paragon Deku (talk) 21:36, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Now an arbcom block. See template below for information about how to appeal. Barkeep49 (talk) 16:19, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
You have been indefinitely blocked by the Arbitration Committee.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, then appeal by emailing the Arbitration Committee (direct address: arbcom-enwikimedia.org).
Administrators: This block may not be modified or lifted without the express prior written consent of the Arbitration Committee. Questions about this block should be directed to the Committee's mailing list.
