2011 Pan American Games
Hey, would you like to take a look at the 2011 Pan American Games article, and suggest any improvements that can be made. Thanks. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:11, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think that it looks great! For now, the only improvement that I see is the addition of a section on the opening ceremony, but that might also be done as the time draws nearer. You may also consider placing a link to the chronological summary on the main page in a more conspicuous place. Up to you, though. I really like what you've done with the coverage of the whole event, like making articles on the chronological summary of the events, medallist tables, etc. It makes the reading and searching experience very nice. Great work on that! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 04:21, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks!! I noticed you linked the ceremonies on the calendar, but I had to revert it, because it goes against the manual of style. Keep up the great work! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 04:24, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. I didn't know about the MOS on that, my apologies. Please let me know if you need any more help! I really think that the 2011 PAG coverage on Wikipedia is coming up magnificently, and I'm glad to contribute! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 04:32, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think what needs the most help at this point would be the specific country pages and the chronological summary (listing the events per day, so it doesn't get to be too much of a workload during the games). Intoronto1125TalkContributions 04:35, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Softball 2011 PAG
The other section is getting too long...
USA's softball team has been released. [1] Intoronto1125TalkContributions 18:31, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- I have also put up the weightlifting qualification tables. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:10, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the updates! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 17:40, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- No problem! I have created an infox to put up for each sport. Tell me if you think it is redundant. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 18:32, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- The infobox (which I'm assuming is {{Infobox Pan American Games event}}) is a fine idea, and matches up well with the format used on the Olympic pages. Good job on that! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 20:13, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think the next step for the sports articles is to add the schedules, I have added triathlon and I will be adding more soon. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:04, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Okay then, I'll try to get to work on that soon. By the way, is anyone working on the 2011 Summer Universiade pages? They seem quite void right now compared to the PAG pages. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:08, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Its a relatively minor event compared to the PAG I guess, but I do plan on working on it when it gets closer to the date. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:10, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, just making sure. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:12, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- I just saw this message, because a vandal kept on attacking my talk page. Anyways, I was looking to put up the calendar for the universiade but cannot find it anywhere. By any chance do you know where I can find it? Thanks! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 21:22, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- I would assume that this is the schedule: Schedule. Let me know if I can help in any other way! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 23:03, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello. You have a new message at Intoronto1125's talk page. Message added 27 June 2011 (UTC).
Help required.
Hey, I am putting a list of sports competed at the Pan American Games here, [2] would you like to help expand it? Here is a resource:[3] Thanks! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:40, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- If you don't mind, I made some minor edits to the text. I'll try to help expand it wherever I can! By the way, what's the purpose of your inclusion of the curling picture? I'm a curling fan, but I didn't notice anything about curling in any Pan Am event. Will they have curling in a future Pan Am Winter Games??? I'm intrigued now haha. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 04:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Lol, I am an international curling fan as well (don't quite the rules though). To answer your question, that curling picture will be changed, because I used the text from the Olympic page so the picture got carried over. If you are interested there has been one winter Pan American Games before, which was regarded as a flop. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 04:54, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- For the recognized sports section, I just put the sports recognized by the IOC, do you think we should add sports such as Futsal to the list as well? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 17:59, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- That's a pity that the winter Pan Am Games didn't do that well. Hopefully they can organize another and include curling. I'm not really sure what the recognized sports section should include, but if futsal is recognized by the IOC and by PASO, then I suppose it should be added. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 18:32, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Apparently only one sport was contested and the idea failed afterwards. The only sport that could attract more then 3 countries would be skiing. Curling I believe would attract three Canada, USA and Brazil. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 18:35, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Very true... although it'd be nice to see something like the Winter Olympics or the Asian Winter Games in a Pan Am Winter Games. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 18:44, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Regarding yachting at the Pan Am Games, I included it on the discontinued sports list because I saw it on the 1959 and 1987 Pan Am Games lists. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 18:47, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- That has to be a mix up with Sailing. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 18:50, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- That is likely. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 18:55, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yup and the article is not up here! Thanks for your help! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 04:45, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Table tennis at the Pan American Games
Hi, after your edits to this article the references have a cite error in them. I am not sure what happened. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 17:37, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I just noticed that I didn't copy over the references. I'm working on it right now. Thanks! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 18:59, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- All fixed. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 19:15, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay great! What needs to be done next is fixing the nation articles at the Pan American Games. For ex. Cuba at the Pan American Games. Those articles (except a few are in real need of updatin). Keep up the great work! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 19:17, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- You know, I just noticed that and wanted to get started on it. Are you reading my mind? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 19:35, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- LOL, I guess great mind think alike. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 19:36, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Haha I suppose so! By the way, do you have any "at the Pan American Games" articles which you think are pretty good so I can see what I should base my edits on? Thanks! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 19:38, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi, it's the off season, and we just had an election, so I've been in more of a political mood of late. But, I'm still keeping an eye on things. Racquetball 2011 PAG

template help.
Hey how do I get the U.S Virgin Islands to appear just as the Virgin Islands on this template [5]? Thanks. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 15:59, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- For {{flagPASOteam}}, it shows "Virgin Islands," which is what I'm assuming you're looking for. Other templates below show other results:
- Using {{flagPASOteam}} → Virgin Islands (ISV)
- Using {{flagPASO}} → Virgin Islands
- Using
{{ISV}}
→ United States Virgin Islands
- If you want to change any of those templates other than the flagPASOteam templates, it might take some work, and there'll be consequences, since it appears on many pages. What exactly do you need it for? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 17:07, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- The Olympics use Virgin Islands, so I am thinking the change is for all pages. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 17:18, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- As in changing {{flagPASO}} to reflect that? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 17:20, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yes. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 17:29, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay then. The only issue is that, in changing {{flagPASO}} to be like {{flagPASOteam}}, you will be using {{country_IOC_alias_ZZX}} (ZZX as sample) instead of {{map country code}}, which the creator of {{flagPASO}} used. I'm not sure what the ramifications are, but I'll put it in and see what happens. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 17:34, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, I am not to sure if the two are connected but, the medal table at this article [6] is messed up. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 20:18, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yup, simple issue. The medal table was filled out using country names instead of IOC country codes (e.g. Cuba instead of CUB). Fixed. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 01:15, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- This is a widespread issue, it was on the 2011 Pan American Games page, but the problem there was the wrong IOC code was used, for ex. SLV instead of ESA. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 01:21, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, is it? That's not good... I thought there would be some problems with changing that... Yeah, they all have to be IOC codes or else it probably doesn't work... Let me know if you need help with the cleanup! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 01:25, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- As of now I can't find anything that has been affected. BTW, the USA qualified a boxer yesterday for the Pan American Games. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 01:27, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I only see six athletes qualified on Boxing at the 2011 Pan American Games#Summary, when it says a total of seven athletes. Is that a typo? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 01:34, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Pan American Games.
Hey once again! I am now working on expanding the Pan American Games page and I am sort of modelling it after the Olympics Games article minus a few sections off course (such as media coverage). Basketball 2011 PAG
Hey, where did you get the schedule for the basketball competitions? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 14:32, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- Uh I didn't. I was looking around for it, but I couldn't find anything, so I figured that I would just put "USA vs. ___" for all the games that the US would play in preliminaries and then replace it with the appropriate schedule when it came. Is that alright? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 18:09, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay that should be fine. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 18:17, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- I had originally put it on the templates, but that would mean we had to put it on both, which would go against the Manual of Style. So I just put it outside the template at the top of the page, and we would manually put that in each section needed on the country pages. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 15:12, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay that should be fine. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 18:17, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

The format of the competition is here, [7] and is a little confusing. Do you have any ideas how to format the nations pages for this format? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 15:55, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- How about this? Since it seems that each competitor is in a round robin of 4 and competes in three round robin matches, and since there are semifinals and finals, this should work. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 20:18, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Tennis 2011PAG
According to the manual [8] the closing date for registration is on August 29, 2011, which would make the info wrong on the tennis page and the editor also has put "August 15, 2011" which hasn't even occured yet. However, athletes could have been registered in the mean time and the editor probably so that information somewhere. I will look for information and if I can/can't find something I will tell you. Hi, you might want to try using the Internet Archive on the WCF site. It's not working for me at the moment, but it's what I used for the 2002 Continental Cup of Curling. -- Earl Andrew - talk 18:40, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I saw that you just created the article Whites Drug Store Classic. Can you please explain to me why this tournament is notable? Its participants seem non-notable as well, indicating the notability of the subject. Furthermore, the article is sourced to a blog and some non-reliable source. Sp33dyphil "Ad astra" 02:32, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hello, the Whites Drug Store Classic is a part of the World Curling Tour, which can be described as the "ATP World Tour" of curling. It's been a part of the tour for over 10 years, and it falls within the notability guidelines set out at WP:CURLING/AG regarding curling events. Its participants are certainly not non-notable; many of the winners and other participants are provincial curling champions and have participated in the Canadian national curling championships; Kevin Martin (the winner in 2009 and 2010) has also participated in the World Curling Championships and the Olympics. I can understand your concern that the tournament's home page is a blog, but the article is sourced to SaskCurl, which is connected to the Saskatchewan Curling Association, and there are other sources that can be procured, such as this link to the 2010 event. If you have any other concerns, please let me know. Thanks! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:25, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- To me the article seems very specialised – I don't even know what curling is (dumb &%$^!). I'd prefer if it was merged with World Curling Tour (which is quite small itself), but that would be unlikely because so much effort would be needed. Comments? - If you'd like more information on curling, there's always the Wikipedia page. Australia's been in quite a few World Championships, by the way. I would have to disagree with merging the article with the World Curling Tour (WCT) article. If that were to happen, then at least all of the non-Grand Slam events would have to be merged into the WCT article, and there are at least 30 men's events and at least 20 women's events in that. I would have to say that they do merit separate articles, as they are international events and as the World Curling Tour has been around for nearly 20 years now. There's never been any trouble with the few articles on WCT events that have already been created, but I've been trying to create more WCT event articles to cure the red link problem that you can see here and to increase coverage of curling. I'll have to say, though, the fact that there is not much coverage of the WCT to begin with (apart from the WCT site itself and some other sites) is not very helpful. This can always be discussed with other members of WP:CURLING, if you wish. Let me know if I can help in any way. Thanks! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:42, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- Just to add, Kevin Martin is the defending gold medalist at the 2010 Winter Olympics so this article definitely is not about people that are not notable. As for what is curling, well its mostly a North American/European sport, in which Australia's men's team was one spot from qualifying for the Olympics. template help.
Hi, on this article [[9]] I put the Pan American Games event template and did a test. What I discovered was when you list the medalists it links to Canada at the 2011 Olympics, which is obviously wrong. Can you please take a look at the template and see where the mistake might be. Thanks! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 18:36, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- Fixed. What happened was that the creator of the template did not replace flagIOC with flagPASO, so that the column displaying the nation of the medalist would link to a Pan Am Games, not an Olympic Games. With the parameter "2011", flagIOC returns "2011 Olympics", as you said, but flagPASO returns "2011 Pan American Games". That should solve the problem. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 20:24, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I am not to familiar with the formatting. BTW I created the template lol... Intoronto1125TalkContributions 20:31, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- No problem! Always happy to help. I realized right after I posted that you were the creator. Sorry about that hahaha... Prayerfortheworld (talk) 20:40, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. I have a question, are you against creating the event pages for the games ahead of time? Or do you prefer to create them as close to date of competition? Also I was thinking for some sports such as basque pelota and roller skating we should have one single results page instead of separate individual articles. What do you think? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 20:44, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- If you're talking about event pages as in results pages (like
[[Swimming at the 2011 Pan American Games – XXXm freestyle]]
or something like that), I think that just as long as there is enough information to create a page that wouldn't just be one line of text, it'd be fine. Of course, the more information available the better, but something like Badminton at the 2011 Pan American Games – Men's singles would be fine, since it has some information to go on and isn't just a really short article. For basque pelota and roller skating and such, it really depends on how much information we have to put in. Personally, I've never seen basque pelota or roller skating documented, so I'm not sure, but if there's enough stuff that we have to work with, then we can go ahead and do individual articles. Otherwise, one single results page sounds great to me. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 20:52, 8 August 2011 (UTC)- Swimming should be fine, because its a mainstream summer sport. I agree with you in that I have no clue how basque pelota works, so the single page is better suited at this point. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 21:17, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- That sounds reasonable. We'll see as the games get closer. Only two months left! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 21:24, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Re:Badminton
Well, by looking at the 2010 Olympics pages they weren't listed when the template that we discussed earlier was used. Besides, the medalists are listed when that template is used. If you feel it should be there then go ahead and put it on. Keep up the great work! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:50, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Softball at the 2011 Pan American Games - Team squads
Hey, I wasn't too sure about this so I decided to ask your opinion. Should I start the Softball at the 2011 Pan American Games - Team squads article? My doubts are its just a list of the athletes on one page that will compete (Beijing 2008 had it as well), but I am thinking what is the use if they are listed respectively on their nation pages? What do you think? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 20:24, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm... I'm not a fan of the Beijing Olympics roster, because it is just a list of athletes. I'd be okay if there were an article that had more info, like Basketball at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's team rosters, which has stuff like DOB, height, clubs, etc. that would make the article more valuable. If a table could be made in the article for each nation that incorporates more information than just names, then I'd support an article. Otherwise, I'd agree with the fact that they will be listed on the nation pages. Do you think that's acceptable? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 00:41, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- I agree I think we should not create an article. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:45, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Rowing/2011 Pan Am Games
I came up across this source for the USA rowing team [10]. Not sure what to make of it though. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 20:04, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hmmm... I'm not too sure. The title says "11 US Crews set for 2011 Pan American Games," but the first sentence says "Eleven crews earned berths at the USRowing Pan American Games Trials," so it's not very clear. I'll look around a bit more to see what this is, but thanks for bringing it up! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 20:10, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- Your welcome, and there is 14 races on the program and I find it odd they will only send 11 crews considering the USA is the power of the region in sports. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 20:11, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- It seems as if this article answers both our questions. According to that article, the results are for the US representatives to the Pan Am Games (since the results were of the trials, not the teams sent to the trials). The article also states that "The trials determined 11 of the 14 crews that will represent the United States at the Pan American Games October 15-19 in Guzman City, Mexico.", from which I assume that there will be other trials to determine the other 3 crews. Does that sound about right? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 00:46, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Curling at the 2014 Winter Olympics
Yes its about time we started thinking about this article hard to believe right!? Anyways, I wasn't sure when the qualification process started, do you know the qualification system? Going by the 2010 system qualification would have started this year for 2014. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:47, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- Haha yes, it's "only" two years away! In terms of nation qualification, I'll have to look that up to be sure, but it should based on performances at the worlds. In terms of team qualification, the qualification processes that you'll want to concern yourself with most are the ones for Canada (of course) and the United States. It's not very clear (at least to me) how the other nations determine their berths. I'm thinking it's either by trials or by selection, but I'll do a bit more research to make sure. Usually, you'll see the same teams representing some nations for a few years, like Thomas Ulsrud for Norway or Niklas Edin for Sweden at the last few worlds, so that sets up something of a selection process. Canada's process is rather intricate, based on qualification points directly and indirectly to the trials and such. You can see how the development goes at 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, which was created by another WP:CURLING member. I'll probably be focusing on the US qualification process, as I am from the States (the only one in WP:CURLING, it seems), and I know that they have some new rules involved to spice up the competition and get the US represented by its best. I'll let you know whatever else I have once I get my hands on it. Thanks! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 01:02, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- Great!! The WCF is being quite on the subject, should we start the qualification tables like this?: Intoronto1125TalkContributions 01:21, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

- On second thought, it seems like any changes the WCF is likely to make to the Olympic qualification process will come in 2018, so let's start it! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 01:53, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- CONFIRMED by USCA; process remains the same. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 01:54, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- I've started the tables here. Feel free to edit if you'd like! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 02:03, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- Great! I think maybe we should wait until November/December to start the actual article, because that is around the time when the Pacific/European Curling championships will be done and the Pan American Games (although not related) would also be finished. For the tables I was thinking of revamping it style wise. What do you think? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 02:22, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- I can agree with that. We could also start it after the conclusion of the Winter Youth Olympics, but it doesn't matter much. I think as long as the tables are functional, I'm okay with anything. I will say that the tables look rather plain, though, so they could use a little restyling. What ideas do you have? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 02:28, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- Something along the lines of what was done for the 2012 Youth Olympics or having a darker shade in the table itself. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 02:29, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- What do you mean by a darker shade? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 02:32, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

- This system in my opinion should allow the nations that don't qualify for the WC a chance to qualify for the Olympics. It makes the tournament idea useless then. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 23:37, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- It does seem rather redundant, yes, but usually the nations represented at the Worlds are the nations that hold the most chance of entering the Olympics. It would be strange if a nation that did not compete at any Worlds appeared at the qualification event and qualified in that manner alone. It's a relatively new change, though, and I think the WCF is just seeing how this new qualification process with the qualification event works out before they make any more changes. I'm looking for the actual text to clarify the process, but it seems as if the tables aren't accurate anymore... Prayerfortheworld (talk) 23:43, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- Actually I think it would be better, something like a 16 nation round robin tournament, because you never know (it gives smaller nations a better chance to qualify/develop the sport). Yes unfortunately the tables are wrong. However by early next year we should have more information. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 23:48, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Netherlands Antilles at the 2011 Pan American Games
Hi, for this article the IOC flag is used, and I was mistaken when I thought they would compete under that flag. It is actually the PASO Flag they will compete under. Can you please fix this thank you! Intoronto1125TalkContributions 01:21, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

- If the full stroke name is listed (e.g. "freesytle" instead of "free") after a distance, and especially if the "m" is included, then what listed is the event name and should be capitalized.
- I format the country and flag onto one line because it makes it smaller (not everyone has 1000 pixels across to view a page).
- A country link should probably not be provided for every medalist: it clutters the links on the page and is over-linking. Having a list of participating countries on the page is a better way to have this down.
Lastly, thank you for completely negating an hour of work, without so much as a hello. - Hooperswim (talk) 13:45, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message. Please realize that I was merely following precedents that have been largely set out in the Olympics articles. The Olympics article gave me the precedent of setting the space between the distance and the meter symbol, which is also mentioned as appropriate at WP:Swimming#To-do. I also do not agree with your manner of formatting the countries and their flags, since it is much better to use {{flagIOC2medalist}} for medalists, as it is a much cleaner way to list the medalists. I use the flagIOC2 suite of templates, which includes {{flagIOC2medalist}}, for editing the Universiade because the suite is used to list in many of the major MSEs, especially ones at the level of the Universiade. I do not agree that the listing of medalists' countries for individual medalists is overlinking, and I do not believe that the list of participating nations is a suitable solution, but I can understand your reasoning. I know some of my actions may have been or seem wrong, and I apologize for any mistakes I have made. I also am sorry that you are upset that I reverted your work with minimal notification, but approaching the matter in such a manner as you did is not the manner that I hoped you would have. I am willing to admit my mistakes and collaborate to produce the best result that fits predetermined guidelines, so, in the future, please refer me to guidelines if I have not followed them, or please let me know if there are any conflicts. Please also let me know if there is anything I can do, as I hope to continue collaborating with you. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 23:34, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- @Hooperswim The first point is valid. However number three and four are not valid at all. Even at Wikipedia:WikiProject Swimming there is nothing to suggest your points are valid at all. This has been the format on all (or at least most) swimming events at Multi-sporting events and as the saying goes if it ain't broken don't change it. If you feel otherwise please join Wikipedia:WikiProject Multi-sport events and start a discussion there. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 13:43, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- Actually the flag|name|country does cause names to break onto different lines, now that you mention it: another reason the flag and country should not surround the name. Thank you for reminding me of that. Hooperswim (talk) 18:22, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Event pages at the 2011 Pan American Games.
I started the page Athletics at the 2011 Pan American Games – Men's 100 metres, and I was wondering if it is too early to start it? I started it this early, because when the games start we will be swamped with results so I decided to just start as many as I can before October. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:53, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's a good idea, especially considering the number of events that will be going on. The page you showed me looks great! And it's easy to add to, so I think it's a good time to start it. Besides, it's around a month before the games start, which is a reasonable timeframe for such an event. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 01:47, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay great. Thanks. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 01:56, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Templates
Do you know why the template "bb" produces the nations names with out them being bold, while template "ru7" does? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 02:33, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- {{ru7}} does not appear to make the nations' names bold. In what context are you using these, and when did this happen?? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 02:47, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- {{ru7}}: United States {{bb}}: United States
- The respective sports pages at the 2011 Pan American Games. The rugby nations come out bold, while the baseball ones do not. Intoronto1125TalkContributions
- That might be the work of the rugby box. Let me check. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 02:57, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- It is indeed the work of the rugby box. It bolds both sides' team names and scores. Any changes would have to be made in the template, which might not be advisable. See Template:Rugbybox. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 02:58, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay so I just need to change the baseball box to make it bold? Thanks. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:00, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Do you want to make the teams' names bold on the baseball box? I'm not sure if that would be necessary or helpful... Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:02, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, the baseball and water polo are the only sports I have run across that are not bolded. All others are, so I thought just changing two would be easier. If you think otherwise then go ahead, I like it personally with out the bold effect, so we can distinguish the country on the nation article pages. Thanks. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:05, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not a fan of having both teams' names bolded as well. Are you aiming for uniformity? Because I am not particularly fond of having both teams' names bolded, but I'm not sure if that's the way you'd like to go. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:11, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- I am aiming for uniformity, and I would have it un-bolded. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:18, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Would it be acceptable to other WikiProjects that may be involved with those templates or any other possibly involved parties if the teams' names were to be unbolded? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 03:22, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- That is an interesting point, but I don't think it would cause a major problem because it can be easily reversed. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 03:25, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Tennis 2011PAG
I have put up the qualification for tennis at the 2011 Pan American Games. What is your plan for the individual pages? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:44, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hmmm... I'm probably going to add in the seeds when they come up. The draw is the night before the tournament starts, so that'll be a while. Then we'll just add in everything and go from there. Does that sound alright? Where did you get the qualification information, by the way? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 04:09, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I actually e-mailed the Pan American Tennis federation and they sent me a list. However, I don't know how to source that lol.
- Oh really? That's pretty awesome that they would do that! Now if they could only send over a list of participants... or post them somewhere! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 04:56, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- The participants is listed on the qualification page. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 05:03, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Ah. I didn't notice that. Wonderful work! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 05:06, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yup! and thanks! Is it really not that visible? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 05:09, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- The list of participants? Oh no, I just didn't look at the qualification page. I only looked at the main tennis page. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 05:18, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

USA Rowing team 2011 PAG
Do you know what boats the USA will be sending in rowing at the 2011 PAG? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:06, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'm checking to see if these are correct, but here's what I have so far:
- Men's Single Sculls – Ken Jurkowski
- Women's Single Sculls – Margot Shumway
- Lightweight Women's Single Sculls – Jennifer Goldsack
- Men's Four – Matt Wheeler, Joe Spencer, Steve Kasprzyk, Jason Read
- Lightweight Men's Double Sculls – Tom Paradiso, Bob Duff
- Women's Double Sculls – Catherine Reddick, Megan Walsh
- Men's Pair – Mike Gennaro, Ty Otto
- Men's Double Sculls – Andy Quinn, Dan Urevick-Ackelsberg
- Lightweight Women's Double Sculls – Chelsea Smith, Michelle Sechser
- Women's Pair – Megan Smith, Monica George
- Lightweight Men's Four – Ryan Kirlin, Josh Gautreau, Frank Petrucci, Rob Milam.
- After I verify them, I'll post them up. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 00:13, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- Okay great I am trying to put up the qualifying chart but can't find any information besides a couple of countries. Thanks. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:16, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- No problem! By the way, I'm not sure if the US will have representatives for the other three boats. We discussed this before here, but I haven't seen anything yet.Prayerfortheworld (talk) 00:20, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think so either, because it probably would have been announced with the other boats. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:22, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not very sure... it's rather ambiguous, though, because there are two articles (ESPN and US Rowing) out that say "The trials determined 11 of the 14 crews that will represent the United States," which I take to imply that there will be 14 crews, but another source says "The trials determined the 11 crews that will represent the United States." (Team USA pressbox) I'm not sure what to make of this. It may have been a change in wording between the US Rowing and Team USA pressbox articles, but I haven't seen anything yet about the other three. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 00:31, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm... you're right. I guess we just have to wait two more weeks. Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:33, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- Another thing do you by any chance have the list of events each member of the shooting team will compete in? Intoronto1125TalkContributions 00:39, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- I have not seen anything yet, but if I find something, I'll let you know! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 00:47, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- I stand corrected. I just found this list on the USA Shooting website, but the specific events each athlete have not been listed. I'll keep looking. Prayerfortheworld (talk) 00:49, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

- Yeah, I'm not too happy with that either... There are actually two IP addresses with similar activity: Special:Contributions/190.27.133.130 and Special:Contributions/201.244.253.226, the first with activity before the second. Both IPs are traceable to Colombia, so that may be a factor in the ignored warnings, but I'll support you in reporting, if you've already done so.
