October 2010

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Mabel Rebello, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. November 2010

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Varghese Mathai, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. — Train2104 (talk • contribs • count) 18:49, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Antelope, Oregon

[edit]

I undid your changes to Antelope, Oregon which break bolding style per the bolding style guideline and also unlink defining characteristics of the city. See WP:UNDERLINK for a good discussion of appropriate article linking. Alas, proper linking is a difficult concept to convey, though I think it becomes natural after a few thousand edits.

Also, please fill in the edit summary explaining the purpose of your edits. This helps other editors understand what you are doing: edit summaries appear on recent changes, your edit history, and the article's history. Blank edit summaries are a common characteristic of vandalism; a rationale helps others understand your intent to improve Wikipedia. Thanks, —EncMstr (talk) 17:59, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Romeofox.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Romeofox.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Flags

[edit]

See WP:FLAGBIO for why we don't do this. --John (talk) 04:24, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, could you stop doing this please? It makes work for someone else to clear up the mess you are making. Thanks. --John (talk) 18:52, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in you being blocked from editing.--John (talk) 19:02, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

--John (talk) 19:05, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Having reviewed your edits in some detail, I can see that the vast majority of your recent edits have been to add flag icons to biography articles, something which as you have been advised numerous times, is not valued here. This merely creates work for folks like me to remove them again. I therefore propose that if you continue with this I will block this account indefinitely. Please feel free to discuss this; but please don't just go ahead with the behavior that you got blocked for. Thanks for your consideration. --John (talk) 01:51, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of Prime Ministers of Israel by Place of birth and death has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

seems like an unnecesary list; all the information can be included on List of Prime Ministers of Israel

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 19:08, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

October 2011

[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 13:42, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning: begin using edit summaries to explain your edits. Failure to do so, especially after previous warnings and the type of edits you make, is Disruptive Editing. Also, you have been asked to stop adding national flag icons per the guideline MOS:ICON, but your last edit does that, among many other changes. —EncMstr (talk) 14:22, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Jagannatha Varma, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Narashimham and Sargam (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:56, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for failure to provide edit summaries

[edit]

You are blocked for a short time for your failure to provide edit summaries. You have been warned twice (first, second), yet you have not provided any indication of your intent, purpose, or rationale in any of your last 1000 edits.

Not providing an edit summary makes it harder for other editors who monitor recent changes, page history, and your contributions, to easily determine if an edit is useful—or vandalism. Failure to observe this basic courtesy is ultimately disruptive to the editing community, especially considering how long it has continued.

When this warning block expires, you are welcome to contribute again. If you continue to be disruptive, you will be blocked again for a longer interval. While you are blocked, please review recent changes or any article's history to learn edit summary standard practices of other editors. —EncMstr (talk) 17:59, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
