Gentle Reminder - Wikipedia Assignments[edit]

Hi,

Good to know that you have created your userid on wikipedia.

However, would like to remind that you are missing on following deadlines for 3 of your subjects decided by your teachers.

Please reach out to any of your campus ambassadors for any queries you might have.

August 2011[edit]

Your addition to Bharat Nirman has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 01:16, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted, as you did at Bharat Nirman. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 15:06, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that you're a student in a Wikipedia-oriented course and that you're still learning the ropes, and I do not intend this to be an infinite-time block, but you must stop inserting copyrighted material into articles, and since a warning did not stop you from that, I've had to block you. Please discuss our copyright policy and how you can follow it with your class's ambassador; when you've done that, you and your ambassador should post here to your talk page explaining that the issue has been addressed and I will lift the block. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 15:06, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I express my deep sorrow on the fact that I had violated the copyright rules. I have understood the importance of copyright violation and assure you that I shall not to repeat the same. I would like to thank you for the great job you are doing in keeping Wikipedia free of copyright violations. I would also like to request you to help me with my article and improve it such that my contribution is worthy of Wikipedia. Please unblock me as soon as possible as my deadlines are fast approaching. My sincerest apologies again. Raj2026 (talk) 18:05, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please ask your ambassador to confirm either here or on my talk page that you now understand our copyright policy, and once they've done that, I will unblock you. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 18:16, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Fluffernutter! I'm the ambassador for Raj's class and I've already taken a session on the importance of copyright and even we have sent a strong message to the college to avoid plagiarism and copyright vios. Please unblock the user.
Cheers,
Ram (talkcontribs) 19:28, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked[edit]

I have unblocked you, following your ambassador's assurance that you now understand our copyright policy. Please remember that as a general rule, you should never copy-and-paste (or re-type) someone else's writing into Wikipedia. If you are at any point not sure if what you want to add to an article would be a copyright violation, check with your ambassador before you add it, because you will be reblocked if you resume violating copyrights. Article Review- Economic Survey[edit]

Hey Raj!

I went through your article and have few suggestions:

  • Overall it looks good but I tried searching few statements in google and found close matches. The suggestion here is to cite those phrases/facts/figures, although they are not exact match, they are quite close.
  • Cite references wherever you are putting Facts/Figures.
  • Choose an appropriate title, economic survey or economic survey 2011 is not appropriate, coz the article is in Indian context.
  • Add more references
  • Add your article to a Category

I'm happy that you are putting effort to make/write better articles, and I'm sure you will!

Cheers,

Ram (talkcontribs) 17:17, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd just like to add one thing. If you feel your article is ready to be put up to main space, do one thing, put up this code, {{subst:submit}} on top of your article so that it may be submitted to Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation where it will be reviewed and its quality and importance will also be determined. Good luck.
Regards,
Your friendly neighbourhood Campus Ambassador

Your Article Review[edit]

Hi Raj,

I went thru you article and have following points:

  • Instead of writing the article on "Discussion" page, I would recommend you to creat a sandbox for it.
  • Rephrase

- "...Indian economy in this present year" - Under "Highlights of survery", you have put lot of facts but not referenced it properly. So the idea is to cite a reference whenever you are putting facts. - References from 9 to 15 are not up to the mark, I tried to find the facts in Chapter 11 of Economic Survey 2010-11, but didn't get it.\ - Most of the references are from indiabudget.nic.in, if possible add more references to have neutral point of view. - Add graphs/figures if possible.

Cheers,

Ram (talkcontribs) 16:11, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
