Hi, I noticed you put a reduce tag on the image for Teresa de Jesús (film), HERE. I followed the links to the policy page but it was hard to figure out how much the dpi would need to be reduced. How did you form the opinion that 100 dpi was too many? How much should it be reduced? Which are the relevant sentences on the policy page? When I saw that the letters at the top of the scan were blurry, I thought there was clearly no way the image could substitute for the DVD cover, and so it was OK. Was my thinking off-base? Thanks for any guidance you can offer. -- Health Researcher (talk) 23:11, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Roy Orbison image

Hey. Can you explain how File:Roy Orbison 1965.jpg is in the public domain? Thanks. --Moni3 (talk) 00:16, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi. :) There's yet another discussion at MCQ about images of this sort. :) It's at Wikipedia:Media_copyright_questions#Template:PD-ad. There is some concern there about whether the content is usable after all, and given your interest I figured I should let you know. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:23, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Perry Como

Thank you for your message concerning Perry Como's religious status. There is reference no citing Como's religious practice, that is why I removed the category. A reference would be an addition to the article. Best wishes Span (talk) 21:45, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

the image isn't replaceable

In the article, the image itself was commented upon, not Tin Pei Ling. The image -- with its immature pose (so the voters said) -- became a major scandal for Tin Pei Ling and was widely republished in the press, and mocked in 8 Days -- a state-run magazine in Singapore, which normally would side with government-friendly candidates. This is the significance of the image itself. The image is thus not replaceable. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 20:39, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

I happen to be an administrator. I am recusing myself from acting as my own judge, so I ask you to decide for me. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 21:17, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

I think that's a little indiscriminate. Suppose the image at Che Guevera was still copyrighted, and that Che was still living. Would you tag that image as replaceable? I can see how most images that are non-free with a living subject are replaceable, but the article discusses the iconic image itself, not merely the subject. Time

I think it's time for me to take my lack of discrimination elsewhere. I will return at a later date to post unfinished project links on others' talk pages. We hope (talk) 22:14, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Sorry to see you're leaving. I think you've made a very valuable contribution to Wikipedia and we need people like that here. I do hope you will return after your break. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:16, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
ok cheers, good to see you back. TheRetroGuy (talk) 20:50, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Looks like the copyvio experts got around to doing some cutting/etc. [1], just FYI, I think you'd said you wanted to know. Have a great weekend! --joe deckertalk to me 04:21, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Wow, I happened by again today and saw the work you've been putting into restoring and improving that article. Really well done, thank you! --joe deckertalk to me 18:09, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

thanks for cleaning up

after me on a couple of new record articles. A pretty new thing for me. Plus a bit of time pressure with company arriving in 10 minutes. ciao Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 23:53, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

I have a new #1 EP coming up, it might be better. Guest for Memorial Day was my boss, a new comer to a very small village. We had a good day, talked mostly shop. Carptrash (talk) 14:00, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Wow this is a fantastic dog health article! Thankyou for your coment about the American Akita article, if you find any other errors please let me know! (or just go ahead and change them.) I'll just note the points that came to mind as I read through the diabetes in dogs article, feel free to ignore any of them.

  • First paragraph, some readers may not know which type of diabetes they actually want the information on, mellitus or insipidus. When I read in the lead that there was another type, I immediately wondered what the difference was. Perhaps it would be worth just a quick line on what the difference is? (is that possible?) Or is insipidus type 2 diabetes?  Done
Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of DM in humans and cats. Those with Type 2 are basically able to produce insulin, but can't use it properly or may not produce enough insulin. Some people and cats can be adequately managed with diet changes, while some need diet changes and oral meds. Yet others need some insulin to do well. When you get to Type 1 diabetes, there are no oral meds that can make the permanently damaged insulin-producing beta cells able to go back to doing that. There's no way to get around the need for insulin with Type 1 diabetes-it's the only med choice there is.
    • Move the picture of the dog with cataracts to the symptoms section. Done
    • Is there ar reason why dogs don't require basal/bolus insulin injections? Done
Added a short explanation re: fixed amount of food containing fixed amount of calories, etc. given at a set time along with a set time for injections.
  • Link to word meaning for "potentiates" in Hypoglycemia section.  Done
  • Under treatment, consider using the whole word instead of "hypo"  Done
  • When canine diabetes may not be permanent section, consider a link or brackets or different word for "heat" it could be confused for heat in the temperature sense.  Done
    • Link to Cushing's disease when mentioned.  Done

Other than the above, have you seen any literature that suggests if certain breeds are more prone to it? Or is this a link that should be on every breed page?

Intervet list of breeds Have hestiated to include such a list because it can honestly happen with any dog-we still do not know all the causes of canine DM.

I am also wondering if there are preventative measures (the obvious being not letting your dog become over-weight I assume)?
Is there any hereditary basis to it?

Drs. Fleeman and Rand contend that there's a lifestyle factor involved in the mix: Canine and Feline Diabetes: Nature or Nurture?

Any known reason why it is more typical in females? Is it because of the hormones cycling throughout the year?

When we look at the data on dogs with diabetes, we see females over-represented, but when looking at cats with diabetes, the opposite is true-it's more common in male cats. Similarities and Differences of Diabetes Mellitus in Canines and Felines (Pardon the Internet Archive problem with links at the moment-take the "Impatient" link shown and you will get the page)

Hope this was helpful, Cheers, Keetanii (talk) 06:16, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Awesome, I see you nominated the article for GA, I bet it will do well! I wouldn't be suprised to see it as a new featured article in the near future! Once it gets GA maybe nominate it for FA and see what they say? Keetanii (talk) 09:33, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

More Jo Stafford albums

Finally got round to doing them. :) Just wondering if you have a release date for Fools Rush In and Supper Club III. TheRetroGuy (talk) 17:45, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Have created a book for Jo Stafford as there seems to be enough information now to make it worthwhile. Needs a picture though, and could probably do with proofreading/copyediting to make sure everything is in order. I know you have quite a lot on just now, but would you take a look when you have a few minutes? Please add/change anything you feel I've missed or isn't correct. I've also added it to the template. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:09, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

If we can use it, the ebay one would be nice as it's the only colour print of her, but if not a cropped version of one of the other two would be ok. I've been thinking about who else to add since my last message. As well as Ingle, there's also Frankie Laine, Gordon Macrae and Johnny Mercer. If only I'd looked a bit more closely at the discography :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:48, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Jo Stafford pictures

I think that picture looks excellent as a book cover so thanks for uploading it. Also useful if we could get the Stafford Sisters one as we might be able to use it in a future article. Incidentally I forgot to mention I'd found the film - I stumbled across it by chance a couple of weeks ago. IMDB has the Stafford Sisters listed as appearing in four films (one of which they were uncredited for). We only have articles for Girl Crazy (the one they're not listed for) and The Old Barn Dance at present, so I'll do some investigating and hopefully be able to create pages for the other two. Cheers. TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:21, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Fantastic. TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:48, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Films

Have created articles for Gold Mine in the Sky and Avenging Waters and added them to the book. The Stafford Sisters are uncredited in "Waters", but imdb mentions them so I thought I'd include it. Also, one of the search bots picked up "Gold Mine" as a copyvio because I copied the cast list, but I've sorted that out now. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:31, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Cool, thanks for uploading them. TheRetroGuy (talk) 20:11, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Re:Flicks

That's brilliant. The Ingle and Stafford pics look great. Thanks for the link to that site, it's got me wondering if I can find any more Jonathan and Darlene albums. :} I might have a look round sometime this week. Cheers TheRetroGuy (talk) 21:14, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks again. You just made things a whole lot easier :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:08, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
Cool. Looks like I can create most of them with track listings, then do some digging for the others. I shall make a start on them over the next couple of days. TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:50, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Can we use a Sheiks and Flappers picture for that one? TheRetroGuy (talk) 16:07, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. I think I did something similar with another album that was re-released later with a different name, but forget which one it was now. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 16:21, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
ok, got them all now apart from Sheiks and Sing Along. TheRetroGuy (talk) 18:24, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Great, that's everything I did, so thanks once again for uploading them. Just wondering if the 1957 Piano Artistry of Jonathan Edwards is the same one as the 1985 release. When I did the discography the CMT site didn't have a track listing for it, but I'm guessing they're one and the same. TheRetroGuy (talk) 19:01, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Cheers for that, looks like Corinthian re-released it after acquiring the rights. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 19:12, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Forks Over Knives

Re: The Forks Over Knives poster edit you made (FUR cover to poster)--probably the same change needs to be made to the image over at Super Size Me, because I just copied that page's templates. Robert K S (talk) 23:13, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I'm glad you checked, because I know nothing about these templates. I don't know what FUR stands for. Robert K S (talk) 00:46, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Another Jo Stafford album

Found another, Garden of Prayer from 1954. I think this may be one I missed from the original list. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 15:12, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Cheers for that. I'll write some more articles a bit later on. I wasn't sure about the label - I thought it had to be either Columbia or Capitol but knew if I chose one it would probably be the wrong one. :) Also I see the original version has a different cover. TheRetroGuy (talk) 16:07, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Absolutely. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 22:08, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
3 more done now. :) TheRetroGuy (talk) 23:00, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
