Re:RFPP

I would like to discuss the RFPP with you if possible. I'm not sure what the whole issue is with you deciding not to semi protect it, however, you should listen to the community's concerns. The IP edits have only been non constructive. I hope you are willing to civily discuss this, either here or on my talk page. Also, i wasn't !voting, only voicing my opinion to show you that other editors support the request. Dusticomplain/compliment 01:06, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, if you'll notice, I let the issue drop, and if you'll look in my contributions, I haven't wallowed over the subject-I've moved on- yesterday's news. Secondly, please don't use the fact that your an admin to try and look big and bold in my face (if that's what you were trying to do), as some of us can remember some things that keep our head and our status its normal size. Dusticomplain/compliment 03:41, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for replying. As far as commenting at RFPP, please read this. Thanks and happy editing, 03:53, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Canada on commons two cents requested

A preliminary Commons WikiProject Canada has been created. Please help adapt, modify and expand it, to coordinate and organize Canadian media on commons. It will provide a common area for media discussion, PD issues and naming on the commons WP talk page. Well, already the Commons WikiProject Canada has a This gallery has been requested for deletion deletion tag and discussion started because a wikiproject is not a gallery. Do you want to edit the intial Wikiproject start up or comment if it is needed on commons or not at the deletion discussion. Oh my goodness! SriMesh | talk 02:16, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Liz Wilde

I think this should go to AfD as it seems to fail WP:NOTE and WP:BIO - even after all her edits she only has a small handful of links to secondary sources, those with just short notes on her. The latest is 2001 when she went to work for NBG Radio Network which went bankrupt 2 years later. That would resolve the COI problem of course! Doug Weller (talk) 14:43, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Vote at Fête nationale du Québec (Saint Jean Baptiste Day)

Hi, I've set up a vote to try and resolve this here. As you've commented on the issue already, I wanted to ensure you take the opportunity to vote. Gabrielthursday (talk) 01:07, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

  • I've asked the dissenting editors to acknowledge the Wikipedia naming conventions that emphasize that article titles should be the ones that are most recognizable to English-speakers[1]. If they do not, I think we should ask for a Request for comment as the next step in solving this dispute, as such a refusal could constitute bad faith. It will require at least two editors to start the process. Thank you. --soulscanner (talk) 19:22, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Please revisit the Kenora, Ontario talk page. It appears that you have !voted twice on the rename, and may want to refactor one of them. Cheers, DigitalC (talk) 06:41, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of Fanmail.biz

Hello. In December of 2006, an article I submitted about the autograph collecting site [2] was nominated for speedy deletion and then was deleted (by you :D). Since then, Fanmail.biz has reached 11949 members and an Alexa rank of 50,513. It has also been mentioned repeatedly in credible sources such as newspapers and other Internet sites. These seemed to be the main problems with my article.

I hate to be bitter, but it seems Wikipedia practices a double standard. As one example, there is an article on OneClick Wi-Fi, which has both a lower member count and Alexa ranking than Fanmail.biz It has not been nominated for speedy deletion (which I felt was far too drastic of an action for my article in the first place).

Is there a reason my article was nominated for speedy deletion and so many others were not? Would it be alright to resubmit my article? Thanks. Lutherjw (talk) 19:22, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Reminding about pages that need to be unprotected

The Working Man's Barnstar
For performing the thankless task of reminding admins about protected pages, I award you the working man's barnstar. Aldrich Hanssen (talk) 19:33, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

CSCWEM's indefinite semi-prot's

Do you have a list of his indefinite semi-prots? It really should be brought to the WP:AN, especially in light of his recent loss of priveledges. –xeno (talk) 19:48, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

What about a mass unprotection and let RFPP sort it out? That's why I think an AN to determine the best course of action would be ideal. –xeno (talk) 19:57, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Will do. Will be WP:Administrators' noticeboard#CSCWEM's indefinite protections. cheers, –xeno (talk) 20:03, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Reminder about 6-Pak

Re your message: The article that is protected is currently a redirect. The target page is not protected. The redirect is protected because it was a target of MascotGuy. While I would normally agree to unprotecting the page, since it's a redirect and a target of MascotGuy, I don't think unprotecting is a good idea nor really necessary. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:18, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Semi-protection of Toe jam

You're an admin - you can unprotect it yourself, no? You have my consent to you undoing the semi-protection (or even full protection) on any article I have protected, until now or in future, if you judge that the purpose of the protection has been achieved. You don't even need to notify me. If you want to know more, prior to unprotecting something I protected, then by all means please do get in touch, but you don't have to just to keep me happy or flatter my ego or whatever :) Neıl 10:09, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Fair enough, so I should say thanks, but in future feel free to just undo any of mine you come across. Best, Neıl 17:43, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

I got a warning for something I didn't do

Hey, sorry to bug you, here's the page about this: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:4.228.6.164&oldid=78234692

The IP address is right but I didn't edit this page and would never post things that were intended to cause problems. Also I got this computer new in December 2006 so an edit in September 2006 wouldn't be possible. I don't really understand what's going on, did I get hacked or something?

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.228.6.164 (talk) 07:06, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
