Hello. A tag has been placed on Robert Ball (singer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article James F. Ball, II has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.  Velella  Velella Talk   21:39, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddst1. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Foggy Mountain Boys, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 17:42, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deceased[edit]

I've reverted you on several articles and I know at least one other editor has done so as well. There does not appear to be any traction to your changing articles to reflect this change. You might want to discuss it at a music-related topics project page to gain some consensus. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:32, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not go through articles adding (deceased) and/or death dates to members of bands. There are a number of issues about doing this.

  • This information is usually unsourced.
  • It's biographical info often not relevant to the band, only to the individual. If the person is notable in themselves, then the linked article will contain this biographical info.
  • The additional date detracts from the date they left the band, which is more significant and relevant.
  • Listing a band member's death date, sometimes decades after leaving a band, gives the impression they were somehow still connected to the band, when they may not be.
  • If a band member dies while still active in the band, this is material more suited for the article itself, and will usually be mentioned there.

Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 21:21, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages[edit]

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Almost all new additions without references are now being reverted on-sight.

Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.

Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 23:17, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

December 2019[edit]
