January 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Dean Jones (cricketer). I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Sami Zayn have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Demographics of Singapore, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Hzh (talk) 12:30, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Foreign relations of Singapore. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Jim1138 (talk) 23:18, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Sri Lankan Tamil diaspora, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Hzh (talk) 02:47, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Sri Lanka. Jim1138 (talk) 08:18, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I believe I am blocked because of making outsourced edits in Wikipedia which I understand but I currently don't know how to add references to links to justify my edits most of my edits are in asian channels, all I have being doing is adding or changing channel numbers due the original DTV changing it every 5 months. Pls accept my Unblock request all I want to do is making these asian channels articles better to understand and adding additional content which are important and pls check my recent contributions on HBO asia and Universal channel asia and Syfy channel asia AND PLUS I WASN'T NOTIFIED IN MY TALK PAGE THAT I WAS BLOCKED. Typedmass (talk) 10:23, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

The problem is, you are making unsourced edits. As you state, you don't understand how to cite the content with reliable sources. You also state you intend to keep on editing. That's inappropriate. You need to convince us that all your future edits would be sourced with a reliable source, or you need to convince us you won't edit in the same way again. Yamla (talk) 12:05, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You earlier stated that you did not understand WP:CITE and WP:RS. You won't be unblocked until you convince us you now understand those policies. --Yamla (talk) 13:04, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, below I have placed a subsection with an uncited sentence. Here is a source. Please show us that you know how to add citations.

I have cited your sentence correctly this time please unblock me Typedmass (talk) 12:36, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Procedural close, as block has expired and user is no longer blocked. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:52, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As pointed out, you cited the sentence incorrectly. I very, very strongly suggest fixing your citation if you want your unblock request to be considered. Also, please note you can only have one unanswered unblock request at a time. Please remove two of your three unblock requests. --Yamla (talk) 12:44, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please tell me what wrong with the citation. --Typedmass (Talk) 1:44, 13 July 2017

  • It should be obvious, but I am not convinced that you understand what a citation is and what it should do. Template:Cite book suggests what the proper output should be, but I doubt you've looked at that. The citation suggests you can't tell a book from an article or a website, and if that's the case you probably don't really understand how to judge reliability in sources. Drmies (talk) 01:50, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I only looked at WP:CITE and like before iam pretty new to this is there an easier way --Typedmass (Talk) 1:55, 13 July 2017
