.
- My concerns have not been addressed. You offer no clarification as to what concerns you are even mentioning, either.
- It did not pass. It failed to recieve enough support either way. It was a defacto pass by total lack of consensus, as the editor who removed the article summarised in his close-of-discussion post.
- It was not contrary, I had no say in the previous GA review, and I consider the complete lack of wider feedback inappropriate (you and a couple of other regular editors doesn't cut it).
- I will not be dictated to on your own time frame. This article does not represent our best. It needs to go from the list. You are delaying the inevitable. You had 6 WEEKS to improve the article while that GA review discussion went on and you argued incessantly with everyone and did nothing of the sort that would improve it.
- "I am more than happy to consider your concerns in the talk page of the article." Have you any idea what you sound like? Cease patronising me.
- You are doing your best to insist that the GA review will not reach a consensus because you say it won't. I refuse on this one. This article will be removed from GA status. I will simply not tolerate it being there, it does not meet the quality for one of our best, and you refuse to allow me to improve it, reverting my edits.
- I am making requests for editors because I feel we need neutral opinion. You posted on each one of my requests for outside users that: "users should be aware that the above GA review is meaningless. This article just passed a GA review about two weeks ago. It should not have been renominated so quickly. The current review will have no impact upon the article and, although we do appreciate the interest, you are encouraged to ignore it."
You basically told them their views would not matter and procedure means nothing. Where are you pulling this from? You know for a fact that if enough people say this article should be removed from GA status it will no matter what time span and you are trying to delay the inevitable.
- "It is a long-standing tradition in Wikipedia that if something fails to gain consensus, it is best to wait some time before making another major push" Traditions mean nothing, this is wikipedia, and I choose to IGNORE ALL RULES on this one, which is allowed. This isn't even a rule. Tradition is not policy. You are severely mistaken.--Manboobies 19:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- It is not "policy" to not open another one 2 weeks after the last one, which went on for SIX weeks, and if it's not policy, it doesn't matter what you say. Policy is policy. Tradition is not policy. If you tell somebody that they can disregard a message from me with no policy to back you up, I will cross it out. As you did in the last peer review to somebody.--Manboobies 19:55, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
That issue is completely unrelated. That person had less than 100 edits in mainspace and was participating in FA and GA reviews, which is completely unacceptable. That's also not policy. It's tradition, but it's tradition that's enforced so strongly that it might as well by policy in practice, and it's treated as such. Also, that person was found to be using sockpuppets and was banned for a week right after commenting in the GA review.UberCryxic 20:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Regardless, even if you disagree with my interpretations, you have no right to cross out my statements, excluding the restrictions mentioned above.UberCryxic 20:01, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- Again, do you not understand that If you cross others out without jurisdiction than you yourself are in a position to be crossed out if you lie about statements I have made with no policy to back you?--Manboobies 20:09, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

citing sources
Hi. I'm just wondering, in regards to citing sources, is it normal to have multiple references listed, even if they are the same, or is there some way of combining all the identical references into one? for example, on some references I see a,b,c,d,e listed across, but I'm not sure how to do that. Sorry for bothering you, it's just that I'm really confused about all this. Thanks --Paaerduag 12:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

hi could you go back to the jackson discussion page to see what i have written. thanxRealist2 18:56, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
hi
Sorry for my abrupt comments earlier I was in a rush. Could you explain to me exactly what citation is and how I should use it. I was looking at your personal page and can see that you are the best person to talk to on the matter also im a little confused on what what exactly a reliable source is? I can see that you get involved in many areas of discussion but was hoping you could put some time aside to help improve the dangerous and history era. please get back to me on this matter. thanx Realist2 08:00, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
hi
I have put the source on the discussion page. Get back to me. Realist2 19:13, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
hi
I no i tried it again myself but didnt work. You have to go to www.mp3.com then search for michael jackson review and the album dangerous. Note the web page for me while your there.Realist2 19:45, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
hi again
I found it. Go to www.mp3.com then select soul/R&B then select michael Jackson from the list and then click on the dangerous album. sorry for the confusion. it is there honest.Realist2 20:02, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
The source is http:www.mp3.com/album/8256/summary.html sorry I really did try to cite it but didnt no how, I did try but it was so confusing I gave up. thats why I asked you to teach me how to citate so I could give it this source. Also the statement I made was Dangerous HAS been considered better than Bad not IS considered better! This is possible! and i said is Often considered favourably to Earlier work not IS considered favourably . There is a difference! You have jumped to the conclusion im saying Dangerous is Definately better than Off the wall and Thriller. Get back to me on my page. Realist2 20:12, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
I have changes "favourably to earlier work" for "favourably with earlier work" that way I believe there is no way that it can be construde to suggest Dangerous is better than Wall/Thriller but rather just similar in its musical positives and achievement. Also I would argue that the word favourably is not that strong a word but a lose general word, the review is not strongly saying it is bigger or better than earlier work but just comparing it in a postive light, I would agree that it is suggesting it is POSSIBLY better than bad and would like to point out that outside of America and Britain this is generally agreed . I would like you to help me with the citation for this, I see no reason why it cannot be added as it is NOT biased and is a review and it would be unfair to say some reviews are more worthy than others unless there is an obvious agenda on the writers part. If you are suggesting that this reviewer is being biased then you are misjudging the matter entirely. I think this is an excellent way to show his appeal outside of the states which you yourself have admitted is a little OTT . Because America says his 1st 3 albums were the best that doesnt mean its the truth and the fact that some people are only prepared to show the America stance is biased in its own right, Im just trying to remove the bias of the article and 80`s nostalgaRealist2 20:43, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

10:24, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Realist2 Buy CD $11.99 Users Say 50 ratings Album Reviews: 2 Add to Collection Add to Favorites Album: Dangerous Artist: Michael Jackson
Despite the success of Bad, it was hard not to view it as a bit of a letdown, since it presented a cleaner, colder, calculated version of Thriller -- something that delivered what it should on the surface, but wound up offering less in the long run. So, it was time for a change-up, something even a superstar as huge as Michael Jackson realized, so he left Quincy Jones behind, hired Guy mastermind Teddy Riley as the main producer, and worked with a variety of other producers, arrangers, and writers, most notably Bruce Swedien and Bill Bottrell. The end result of this is a much sharper, harder, riskier album than Bad, one that has its eyes on the street, even if its heart gets middle-class soft on "Heal the World." The shift in direction and change of collaborators has liberated Jackson, and he's written a set of songs that is considerably stronger than Bad, often approaching the consistency of Off the Wall and Thriller. If it is hardly as effervescent or joyous as either of those records, chalk it up to his suffocating stardom, which results in a set of songs without much real emotional center, either in their substance or performance. But, there's a lot to be said for professional craftsmanship at its peak, and Dangerous has plenty of that, not just on such fine singles as "In the Closet," "Remember the Time," or the blistering "Jam," but on album tracks like "Why You Wanna Trip on Me." No, it's not perfect -- it has a terrible cover, a couple of slow spots, and suffers from CD-era ailments of the early '90s, such as its overly long running time and its deadening Q Sound production, which sounds like somebody forgot to take the Surround Sound button off. Even so, Dangerous captures Jackson at a near-peak, delivering an album that would have ruled the pop charts surely and smoothly if it had arrived just a year earlier. But it didn't -- it arrived along with grunge, which changed the rules of the game nearly as much as Thriller itself. Consequently, it's the rare multi-platinum, number one album that qualifies as a nearly forgotten, underappreciated record. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide [-] Collapse . If you word it like I did including the bit about it being considered better than Bad then I will come to an agreement yesRealist2 18:26, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
The review specifically says it is better than Bad thers no generalisation about it. I cant concede this. I have come half way even though it will significantly improve the dangerous era I am willing to let it go to the themes section but wount budge on the bad part.Realist2 18:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Im not sure but I think you didn`t cite it well because when you press 101 it doesn`t go to the review. Also thank you for you explaination of History sales and I concede the ajdustments you have made. I was angry because I got the impression people thought I was lying about my source when I knew it was there all along IM JUST SO COMPUTER STUPID I COULDNT PROVE IT! please dont think im trying to give false information deliberatly at any point. I would very much like to stay on terms and would appreciate your help in the future with citations if this is ok.Realist2 18:54, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Excellent your a saviour I feel quite proud of myself now. Although i would have liked it in the dangerous era it looks cool where it is. I might try and get another citation on a review that talks about the videos of the album and the cameo appearences to add to the themes section. That is one of the things it is known for, of course cheeked with you first. cheersRealist2 19:07, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

This guy was around last year using a couple of AOL IPs to insert the same crap. User:195.93.21.74 in particular, but also user:195.93.21.69. While those are busy IPs shared by many, he was distinctive enough to gain a nickname and several blocks for his actions. I've given him a final warning and will block if he violates BLP again. song citations
Hi UberCryxic. I've been trying to collect some citations so that I can improve some of the articles related to songs by Michael Jackson. Unfortunately, things like the Origins and the Recording of the songs are extremely hard to come by. How is it that information of this sort can be obtained? Or is it just whether or not the artist reveals this, that depends whether a song can become a featured article? Thanks for any clarification.--Paaerduag 07:22, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
I was thinking a song from Dangerous, in particular Remember the Time. This was an incredibly successful song and I was going to tackle it as my first project. For such an influential song and music video, the article is severly lacking. Sources on the net are virtually nonexistant though. Not sure what to do about it.--Paaerduag 07:33, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Reversion of profane response
I'm curious as to why you reverted DaveyJones1968 (talk · contribs)'s "Fuck you" response to someone's kind offer to help him with citations. DaveyJones1968 has been on a tear of disruptive behavior lately, and I would think, on a talk page, that it would be better for the record of his behavior to be visible. I'm not arguing against the reversion. I'm trying to understand why it was a better choice than leaving it in order to have him hoist by his own petard. Thanks. Monkeyzpop 19:37, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
List of Michael Jackson awards
Hello, I recently saw that on Metros' talk page you chewed him out for removing the List of Michael Jackson awards article. Good for you. I've tried filing mediation with him, which he refused, and have now started a Request for Comment against him located at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Metros. Please address your issue on that page as well, as two people are required for an action to take place. He removed the entire awards section from the La Toya Jackson article, even though every single one of them was sourced with an image of the actual award, and I then brought up to him that the "List of Michael Jackson awards" article was the same thing. Of course, this is all due to Metros' hatred towards La Toya Jackson, but he then deleted the Michael Jackson article - without warning - just to prove his point. This is ridiculously unfair, and I for one am tired of Metros' abuse of admin powers. Please join the Request for Comment and get this man stripped of his adminship like he should have been a long time ago. Rhythmnation2004 19:08, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
FACs
Hey UberCryxic, yeah I've probably put more than enough articles into the FAC process. I think the reason is it takes so long for comments to come in that I preoccupy myself with doing other articles. Just so you know, those three articles have really drained me. I'm ready to take a nice long rest and see what people say about the three, and work from that. No more creating for the time being. My ultimate aim, in case you haven't yet noticed, is to get the Agatha Christie series to Featured Topic status ;) Paaerduag 10:12, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Researching Wikipedia Online Survey
We are conducting research into the role of social norms in online communication. This research is funded by the European Union and is being undertaken by a coalition of European Universities (see http://emil.istc.cnr.it/?q=node/8). The research is designed to help us understand how social norms interact with the technology that supports online collaboration. We have selected 35 Wikipedia articles flagged as controversial for study. We are analysing the interactions on the discussion pages and are also seeking additional input from contributors to those discussions.
As a participant in the recent discussion about a controversial topic - Conervatism in the USA, I would be very grateful if you could follow the link to a simple questionnaire. This should take only 2 minutes to complete.

Metros
Yes, you may have worked out your problem, but the fact that he unjustifiably removed a legitimate article to begin with is reason enough for him to lose his adminship. He continues to harass me personally, as can be seen on the RfC page, and he has done everything he can to keep me from getting him into trouble. I started with a post on the Admin's noticeboard, and was informed that wasn't the appropriate place to post the comments. Next I tried a mediation, which Metros refused. Finally, a request for comment - which requires two users. Since I'm the only one who has signed the RfC, it will be deleted within 24 hours, meaning that Metros will have once again succeeded in getting away with breaking 3 policies and not being scolded for it. Furthermore, I will have reached a dead end and will only have the options of either a) dealing with the harassment or b) leaving Wikipedia altogether, and I'm sure it will be the later. Please reconsider joining the RfC. Rhythmnation2004 13:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Thriller
You are incorrect. The statement contains weasle words, see WP:AWW and is your pov not established fact. Also do not remove the fact tag from the sales claim until a source is provided. Every Strangers Eyes 18:04, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- You state in your reply to me, "There are claims that can survive on notability alone; they do not need to be cited. Sometimes this requires interpretation and the use of our best judgment." Here lies the problem. Interpretation is inherently pov. I suggest you read WP:NPOV to get a better understanding of the policy. The article reads better now and has no inherent POV or opinion now. Also thank you for adding a source for the sales claim, and please remember that removing requests for sources as you did twice before on the article could be considered vandalism. Thanks and happy editing. Every Strangers Eyes 21:27, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi uber I have looked at the situation on the Thriller album "Every strangers eyes" has left citation requests on some statments so as long as these are found it`l be cool. Im sure you`l enough finding these sources. Realist2 22:59, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I suggest you read the first paragraph here WP:V, namely "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. "Verifiable" in this context means that any reader should be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source. Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed."
Please stop removing citation requests or I WILL report you. Every Strangers Eyes 17:59, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- Once again you are mistaken. You don't get to pick and choose what needs citations or not. I once again suggest you read the policy I quoted to you above. You can't pick and choose policy to suit your own ends. The article reads much better now following it's re write, I suggest you now leave it as it is. Every Strangers Eyes 01:22, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Brigade des Forces Spéciales Terre logo.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Brigade des Forces Spéciales Terre logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:44, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

HEY
Hey, as you are a member of the Michael Jackson wikiproject I have some very important news for you. I will be nominating the Michael Jackson article for FA shortly and the Thriller album article is currently on the nomination list for GA. We need your help with both articles....
The Michael Jackson artice is currently on a peer review (which you can see on the articles talk page). It also really needs its references formatted correctly.
The Thriller album is going to be reviewed in the next couple of DAYS its sources need formatting.
These are the most important articles on michael jackson here at wiki, 2008 has been an excellent year for michael jackson, lets make it a good year for him here at wikipedia too. If these articles get a GA or FA statues it could make news outside of the wiki world. What a great way to celebrate the 25th year of MJ being the KING OF POP.
Please help with the sources of both these articles and in any other way you can. If you know any other people at wiki that might want to get involved let them know.Realist2 (talk) 22:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi - you're invited to join in a discussion on the inclusion of the EU in the List of countries by GDP (nominal) article. Regards SilkTork *YES! 23:13, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
The Mediation discussion regarding the inclusion of the EU in List of countries by GDP (nominal) has come to a conclusion with the following result:
- The EU to remain in List of countries by GDP (nominal).
- The EU to be positioned according to GDP rank between World and USA.
- No consensus on the EU appearing in all three charts. By convention this means the situation would remain as current - that is the EU remains on all three charts.
- Data for the EU on each chart to only be given if sourced, otherwise a dash to replace the data.
- Explanation to be placed in the lead section for the appearance of the EU and other non-countries. Possible wording: "Several economies which are not
normallyconsidered to be countries are included in the list because they appear in the sources. These economies are not ranked in the charts here, but are listed in sequence by GDP for comparison." - The List retains the current name.
- A suggestion by Tomeasy that I feel should be carried out is that the sister articles are given the same treatment as agreed above.
Unless there are significant disagreements within the next 48 hours I will be closing the Mediation. Any questions, please get in touch. Regards SilkTork *YES! 10:52, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Fascism on the politcal spectrum
The RfC on Fascism#Fascism in the political spectrum has now run one month and there are now two versions of the intro para:
- Most scholars do not find the terms right and left very useful with regard to fascism, which incorporated elements of both left and right, rejected the main currents of leftist and rightist politics, and attracted adherents from both ends of the political spectrum. Hence, fascism can be called sui generis. Some scholars do place fascism squarely on the right or left.
- Most academics describe fascism as extreme right, radical right, far right or ultra right; some calling it a mixture of authoritarian conservatism and right-wing nationalism. However, there exists a dissenting view that fascism represents radical centrism. Moreover, a number of writers highlight aspects of some types of fascist ideology which may typically be associated with the left.
Could you please comment at Talk:Fascism#RfC.
The Four Deuces (talk) 21:48, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Following this RfC, there is currently a proposal regarding the issue of whether or not it is appropriate to characterise fascism as "right-wing".
- Even if you don't have much to say, it would be useful if you could let your view be known in order to guide the discussion towards some sort of conclusion.
- Please take a look: here.
- Thank you. --FormerIP (talk) 22:48, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

War of the Fifth Coalition
Hi there. Over two years ago, you kindly put aside your Today's Featured Article nomination of War of the Fifth Coalition to wait instead for October 14, 2009. Is it still your wish to nominate this article for that day? With regards, —BillC talk 20:22, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- I did have another candidate for that date, but if you were at all interested in seeing your work on that day I would certainly yield to you. —BillC talk 20:01, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sure! For the purpose of the point-scoring system there, perhaps you can answer: has there been a featured article of which you were a major contributor as Today's Featured Article? It's worth one extra point if there hasn't been before. —BillC talk 20:16, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Then I make it an 8-point article: 6 for the bicentennial anniversary and 2 for being more than two years since it was promoted to FA. This is what I have condensed out of the lead section for the introductory blurb. Let me know what you think, and I'll make the proposal. Regards, —BillC talk 20:42, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

The War of the Fifth Coalition in 1809 pitted a coalition of the Austrian Empire and the United Kingdom against Napoleon's French Empire and Bavaria. Major engagements between France and Austria, the main participants, unfolded over much of Central Europe from April to July, producing horrific casualty rates. Britain, already involved on the European continent in the ongoing Peninsular War, sent another expedition to the Netherlands to take pressure off the Austrians, although this had little impact on the outcome of the conflict. After much campaigning in Bavaria and across the Danube valley, the war ended favorably for the French after the bloody struggle at the Battle of Wagram.
The resulting Treaty of Schönbrunn imposed harsh terms upon Austria, forcing her to concede territory accounting for over three million subjects, about one-fifth of her total population. France received Carinthia, Carniola, and the Adriatic ports, while Galicia was given to the Poles and the Salzburg area of the Tyrol went to the Bavarians. While fighting in the Iberian Peninsula would continue, the War of the Fifth Coalition was the last major conflict on the European continent until the French invasion of Russia in 1812 sparked the rise of the Sixth Coalition. (more...)It's now scheduled for 14 October. —BillC talk 17:03, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Image author problem with File:French-chasseurs-attack.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:French-chasseurs-attack.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:14, 16 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Barret (talk) 13:14, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
