A tag has been placed on Msn scripts, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb (talk) 19:34, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Reply

No problem. I removed the speedy deletion tag. I also "moved" the page so that the title would have MSN in all-caps.

One thing, though... considering that you made about 10 edits after I put the deletion tag on, I think you should have told me that sooner. An administrator could have deleted your article in the mean time, had he been unaware of your intention. --Blanchardb (talk) 20:17, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of MSN scripts

MSN scripts, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that MSN scripts satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MSN scripts and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of MSN scripts during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Vince | Talk 01:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Msn 1.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Msn 1.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --OrphanBot (talk) 02:08, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Msn_script_1.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih (talk) 02:34, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey, just wondering something, you put an note saying I didn't have a copyright source or whatever, the picture I took was for an article I had written but now got merged, so feel free to delete right away.
By the way, I got a question! If I wanted to delete something I had uploaded, how would I do that?? Please answer on my talk page. THX!Warrior4321 03:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Your image is source but without copyright tag. Even though you do not object deleting it, we do wait for seven days. You can delete uploaded images only if you are an administrator here.--Jusjih 03:57, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Feathers & Fools

A tag has been placed on Feathers & Fools requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. carelesshx talk 03:49, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Re. your comment on my talk page. Your article isn't really about anything, it just tells the story. Unless you can place the story in some kind of context that justifies it having article of its own, then it doesn't belong in wikipedia. --carelesshx talk 03:56, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't expect you to write anything. A retelling of the story is not enough for an article and if you can't think of anything else to put in the article, then you shouldn't create it at all. In any case, it's gone now. --carelesshx talk 04:19, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Reply to your questions

You asked me,

Hey, I have a few questions. K first, how do you delete something that you upload,

Unfortunately, only an administrator can perform such a deletion. You can request it by invoking Speedy deletion criterion G7 (author requests deletion). This is done by adding {{db-author}} to the top of the page associated with the uploaded media to be deleted.

and two is there a way you can figure out how many edits someone makes?

Special:Contributions/that person's name will give you the complete list of contributions of that person.

--Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 20:25, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

For the second question, you just showed me how to see what contributions they made, but how would I noe how many they made

There is nothing in Wikipedia proper to get that information. However, you may go to http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/Tool1/wannabe_kate. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 21:57, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I went on that site, and on that site what does mainspace and unique pages mean?Warrior4321 16:27, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Mainspace means the pages that are part of the encyclopedia proper. Excludes everything else, such as talk pages, user pages, categories, deletion discussions, etc.

Unique pages is probably a misnomer. It means the number of pages that have contributions from said person. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 16:35, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

So you're saying that I have done 37 edits or 69 edits?

Currently, the page says you have done 80 edits, and that there are 47 pages on which you have made edits. That includes all edits, including your questions to me (hence the discrepancy between the numbers you gave me and the numbers I am getting). --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 00:17, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey, one more question..I was searching for Bhagath Singh(in Wikipedia spelled Bhagat Singh) how can someone move the article Bhagath Singh(no one has made it) redirect it to Bhagat Singh . In other words how can someone redirect an aritcle that hasn't been made, but means the same thing as another article. Warrior4321 20:29, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

You should get consensus before moving a page. However, creating the redirect the other way around is easy: just create an article named "Bhagath Singh" that contains only #REDIRECT [[Bhagat Singh]]. <---I've just done it.

Why doesn't the Talk thing come beside my name?

You did not request it in your standard signature. Click on "my preferences" (top of the screen) then select User Profile, and you should be able to find your way around. Some signature lines are quite creative.

--Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 20:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Can you explain the purpose of this article? It is just copied and pasted from other Wikipedia articles. There is no original content. Besides that, this topic is already covered adequately elsewhere. As you know, I redirected the article to Cell (biology)#Anatomy of cells, but you reverted me. Why? —Caesura(t) 00:26, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Excuse me, um you redirected my work that I did on Parts Of A Cell that took me a lot of time. My article states important key facts to part of a cell. I did the cell unit last term, and we had to write key points, I didn't write what I wrote on my article, but after asking my teacher said if I had written that I would have gotten A+ instead of the A I got. Therefore the article I have written can help users who are searching for Parts Of A Cell. The article that you have redirected it to doesn't really talk about the specific parts of the cell rather than the whole cell.
Thank you very much and I hope you'll undo your actions back to my article back to the way it was. By the way nice talk and user page!! Warrior4321 22:31, 11 December 2007 (UTC) Warrior4321 (talk · contribs)
Well, as I outlined in my redirect of Parts of a cell, I believe the redirect is more appropriate as the article was not an inclusive list. If you look at the section to which it was redirected, it includes detailed anatomies of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells (particularly, in the diagrams) with links to sub-articles about each . I ppreciate your work, I just disagree that a separate list/article is even necessary. How about we gather some other opinions? I'll restore the page and then leave a notice at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Molecular and Cellular Biology asking for other input--perhaps someone has a better idea than either of us! — Scientizzle 23:33, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

How would I join a Wikiproject? I want to join the Zoroastrian Wikiproject, considering I am one, so how would I do that??? If it's not too much trouble could you PLEASE write it on my talk page as well. Please and thank you! Warrior4321 23:47, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

All Wikiprojects make up their own policy on that, but in most cases you just add your name to the list of members (just like editing an article, actually) and you're in. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 01:25, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Amber Pacific

Hi. I see you have recently removed the {{stub}} tag from Amber Pacific. Is there a reason for doing this? I reverted your edit because I am pretty sure that the article is a stub. Tell me if I'm wrong and I'll revert my edit, but this definitely looks like a stub article. ╦ﺇ₥₥€Ԋ(talk/contribs) 16:02, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Alright. I saw that you removed it completely at first and I put it back up. But yeah, {{music-stub}} is fine. ╦ﺇ₥₥€Ԋ(talk/contribs) 16:08, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

I said "do not shout" because using all-upper cases might be considered shouting. (I forgot to tell you earlier.) A question from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? had that. Now, what exactly is the license for your work? You have seven days to choose from Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators, or any admin may delete it. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Wonderful Life

Thanks for your note. You wrote, "When you edited It's A Wonderful Life, you just inserted some commas, next time please put this as a minor edit." That would be my usual practice. I am unable to find where I strayed from it tonight; all three of my edits were marked as minor. Please advise if I am overlooking something. Hertz1888 (talk) 05:18, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of GameAccess

A tag has been placed on GameAccess requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Admin coaching request status

You have expressed interest in undergoing the Admin coaching program. However, after reviewing your edit history, I feel you may need more experience editing (i.e., >2,500 edits & 4 months of activity) on Wikipedia before you can know for certain your ready to begin the process of becoming an administrator. Therefore, at this time, your application for Admin Coaching has been declined.

My suggestion would be to seek adoption from a more experienced user who can help you experience all of the various components of editing an encyclopedia. If you decide adoption is not for you, there is also the editor review process that may help you find areas to improve upon in our editing. If you would like to talk more about this, please feel free to leave me a my talk page. MBisanz talk 21:30, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Homer_simpsons_the_best.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Homer_simpsons_the_best.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Size of pictures

Regarding the size of pictures in articles, you can specify, within an article, what size you want a picture to be. This is done simply by adding a size parameter to the coding of the image within the article. For example,

will give you an image titled example.png which will be 200 pixels wide in the article regardless of the size and resolution at which the image was originally uploaded to Wikipedia's servers. So, no, you do not need to resize the image and re-upload it. Just add a parameter to its specification in the article and you're done.

For more examples, you can look at the coding of List of longest cantilever bridges, an article with a lot of thumbnail-size images, all of which appear at higher resolutions in other articles. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 20:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Flanders

The pages were merged a while ago as they did not meet WP:FICT guidelines as they have no real-world notability. Unless some is found, they are going to have to remain merged. If you can find some, then that'd be great, but I don't have much time. Gran2 21:05, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

They have little or no third party reliable sources to verify their notability. They are not important characters within the show, and therefore have shown no importance in the real world. As you can see from Ned Flanders' page, he has a vast amount of real-world information (character creation, development and reception) whereas Rod and Todd do not, and any such information would hard to come by. Also, notability is not inherited, so even though Ned is notable, it does not necessarily mean his children are. Gran2 21:43, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Rich texan.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Rich texan.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 22:37, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Patriarch George I of Constantinople, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Being the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople is a sufficient claim to notability under WP:BIO. The fact that an article is short is not a good reason to request speedy deletion. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:48, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Unless you want to be banned, don't put things like that comment about Marge in Take My Life, Please in other articles. Just warning you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.255.215.162 (talk) 03:54, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Ahmad Khatami

As I said in the edit summary, I removed the template per its guidelines, which can be found here. As can be seen from the article's history, there is not enough editing going on to warrant a warning to our readers about rapid editing and/or change. These templates are not supposed to be used on every article that can be considered "current", since there is usually no need to inform our readers about this. --Conti| 16:21, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Homer's jobs

Well I don't think it needs to be included because 'Homer's jobs' total one paragraph in the whole article. Therefore, they don't really need to be in the lead, especially as it is already long. Gran2 17:18, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

RE

Dear, I found it hard to understand what you mean. Cyrus nation was "Iranian". Your reasoning is kind of concerning: "king of Persia" is not an Iranian title, it was the way Greeks named Achaemenid Iran, and even so, there is no reason why "king of Persia" makes Cyrus nation "Persia". And as far as authorities are concerned Achaemenids were better authorities on their affiliations. What a sad day for "his nation" who need to be recalled of the better authority! If you want to know what I mean please have a look at DB. Please do not even think about discussion on these issues any more. Please reconsider your decision of changing "Iran" to "Persia".--Xashaiar (talk) 04:01, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Read WP:OR which makes your reasoning unimportant. Concerning your answer on my talk page: 1) Legacy is left on nation not empire. So trying to change "Aside from his own nation Iran" to "Aside from his own 'empire' Persia/Iran" is basically pushing POV. Because you want to change Iran to Persia so you invented that sentence. 2) you wrote : "I do not understand what the Behistun Inscription has to do with what we are discussing." This is basically your problem, otherwise you knew why you can not randomly change "Iran" to "Persia".--Xashaiar (talk) 04:48, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
His nation was "Aryan" and according to our understanding that nation was/is/will be called "Iran". Your OR is here: linking "empire" to his legacy and then arguing that "since empire was Persian" so his legacy is left in "persian empire". Moreover empires come and go. The legacy, in this context, is basically time independent whereas Persian empire was time dependent therefore your suggestion "Aside from his own 'empire' Persia/Iran" does not make any sense.--Xashaiar (talk) 05:26, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
You are desperately trying to put "Persian empire" everywhere and now suggested "Aside from his own nation Iran, that preceded the Persian Empire...." which is just laughable. The current wording is good. What is that exactly you want to say?--Xashaiar (talk) 06:03, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
There is no need of mentioning "Persian empire" in that sentence. The reason: wrong (as legacy in this context is not the same as "great leader") and "as a great leader" he is mentioned as the founder of Persian empire and the succeeding empires followed his path in one way or another (these are all explained and therefore unnecessary to mention again).--Xashaiar (talk) 17:31, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Persepolis

Why my edition to Persepolis wasn't constructive????

The English page had a link from Persepolis to Istakhr in Arabic. Istakhr is a different ancient city, 5 kilometer away from Persopolis. I have created a new page for Persepolis in Arabic and made the correct link to Istakhr.

Check-out my edit

I am not sure what wrong I did, maybe you missed the real vandal because I didn't change anything in the article. --Wikissance (talk) 13:12, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Learning with error

I created this page, and intend to augment it with new information soon. I have wrote about it on the articles talk page, please do not delete it. Hrushikesh Tilak (talk) 18:22, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Alright, that's fine. Although, next time please do not delete the template, but rather add a {{hangon}} template right underneath the template. Best of luck with the article. Persian Warrior----Contact Me! 18:24, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I think the template was undone by someone else. Hrushikesh Tilak (talk) 18:27, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Help plz

Dear Sir or Madam: I am trying to post an article about the Rababah family on the wikipedia arabic site. However I cannot save the page because the system tells me that the information maybe harmful to others. I have temporarily posted the information on the English wikipedia site at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/الربابعه. Can you help me to post it on the arabic site. AS you can read the information is not harmful. I have also sent this e-mail to administrator at Arabic Wikipedia. I want to leave the article posted so that they can review the content. Thanks so much Emranalmudeer (talk) 19:40, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

It has no place on the English Wikipedia, because the content is written entirely in Arabic. The information should be made in this wikipedia. Persian Warrior----Contact Me! 20:05, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

I've declined (and removed) the speedy deletion tag you placed on the above-captioned article because this individual meets the requirements of WP:ATHLETE in that he was a professional football player at the highest possible level, the NFL. You may want to look at WP:ATHLETE to familiarize yourself with the details. Accounting4Taste:talk 20:12, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

My apologies for conducting that error. Many thanks for correcting me. Persian Warrior----Contact Me! 20:14, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
No apologies necessary; I just make a point of noting the particular policy for people because it used to drive me crazy when people declined my speedy deletion tags without telling me why, because I wanted to learn how to do better. But I'm sure you meant well. Accounting4Taste:talk 20:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
