Hi, Whispering! Thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of 75/0/1! I hope I can live up to the standards of adminship, and I will try my best to make Wikipedia a better place. Feel free to send me a message if you need any assistance. :)

Hey look, the criteria for CSD G12 changed since the last time I read them. It used to involve something about being "copied from a commercial content provider" - in other words, copyvios from websites other than newsmedia and the like were not eligible. I didn't know it had gotten broader. Thanks for the headsup! FreplySpang 22:55, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD: TV Show Articles

[edit]

Heh, I may be of the opinion that the vast majority of TV show articles shouldn't exist, but I'm also too lazy to go around nominating them myself. I will content myself to voting for their deletion when they get nominated by others. --The Way 01:33, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, it's unprotected, simply copy your stub over the top of the template and keep it on your watch list. Good luck. I'll keep it on mine too. Good job on the stub, too! Steve block Talk 20:01, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

November Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.
Signed...
Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

setting up an independant wiki

[edit]

Do you know how to set up an independant wiki site? I own the domain www.dothemusic.com and would like to set up a music wiki-site It would sort of be like a musicbrainz meets allmusic guide. I'm not interested in making a lot of money with it, just interested in creating a one-stop-shop for musician content and purchasing information. Please pass this on to anyone that might be interested. Thank you.

You recently added an 'unsourced' tag to Melonpool. I know the comic quite well, and wrote much of the article, so if you could highlight the points you think need clarifying I'll get some references (mostly individual strips). Cheers LukeSurl 19:38, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fantastic Four 2

[edit]

You recently re-added the overlong plot template. I've reduced the plot by about a KB, and reduced the level of detail to avoid it being too fannish, and allowing us to avoid the spoiler tag while coverign the big points of the plot. Plese take a look, and either give comments on the talk page for further improvements, give it a go yourself, or remove the tag, depending on your opinion of the revisions. Thanks for the review. (If nothing's done in 72 hours, I'll drop the tag myself, so it doesn't grow stale there or provoke ridiculously radical shaving of the plot). ThuranX 02:22, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just as a quick note, I added the template after Fluxbot sent almost 2000 message to warn the CVU members that the discussion was happening. TheTAZZone

[edit]

Hi Whispering,

Re: the deletion of TheTAZZone

Being not a very proficient writer myself I can understand why @pple deleted it...however, that being said, I do believe that it does have significance. It is different from any forum community that I have ever been to, not only in respect to member participation through Committees, but also in respect to the overall climate. Forum communities, by and large, are commonplace...but our community is anything but common. I think, being young in terms of the Internet ( the forum is just coming into it's second year ), and still being fairly unknown, in many ways hides that significance. But once the community becomes more known I honestly believe that significance will show itself...and more and more forum communities will try to adopt and imitate the standards we set.

Right now it may look like just another community trying to promote itself...but it's not the community that needs promoting as much as the idea behind it.

TheTAZZone is, although small and young, the only true ' democratic forum community ' on the Net that I am aware of...in that all members, even newbies, have an equal say.

I'm not opposing the deletion...

I'm just trying to explain my reasoning for putting it up.

Thanks,

Egaladeist —Preceding unsigned comment added by Egaladeist (talkcontribs) 15:25, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
