Vila Madalena is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast at the time of 19 hours by Rede Globo, November 8, 1999 to May 5, 2000 in 155 chapters (episodes).[2]

Written by Walther Negrão, with the collaboration of Thelma Guedes, Elizabeth Jhin, Júlio Fischer, Paulo Cursino, Vinícius Vianna and Ângela Carneiro. Directed by Jorge Fernando, Roberto Naar, Fabrício Mamberti and Marcus Alvisi, with core direction of Jorge Fernando.

It counted with Edson Celulari, Maitê Proença, Marcos Winter, Yoná Magalhães, Ary Fontoura, Laura Cardoso, Flavio Migliaccio, Luíza Tomé, Thierry Figueira, Carla Marins, Herson Capri and Cristiana Oliveira in the main roles.

At first, the novel presented an unprecedented opening proposal, with a different song to each chapter. The songs were those that composed the national soundtrack of the novel.[3]
