Hello. It looks like yo've made a good start with this article. I think one problem is that there already was an article at Ginny Weasley in the past, and it was decided that the character wasn't notable enough to have her own article. I think somebody mentioned this to you on 25 March. I don't know if you read the discussion at Talk:Ginny Weasley or not. Remember, you can take part in any discussion there. At the moment there is a section on Ginny at Dumbledore's Army, and that's as a result of consensus between Wikipedia editors. it makes things a bit confusing if there are different articles about the same thing, so I've redirected the article you wrote to Dumbledore's Army for now, and I suggest you try and talk to other editors about it at Talk:Ginny Weasley if you want a separate article. I'll put your work back on your userpage so you still have a copy. Your efforts are appreciated though so don't let this put you off contributing more to Wikipedia. I think there is the basis of a worthwhile article here but it needs work in a couple of areas. First it reads like a how-to, which is explicitly what Wikipedia is not. Take a look at articles on other bidding systems such as Acol and model you draft on those. The Acol article will also give you some hints about appropriate layout. The second area is notability. The draft may just barely reach the threshold with the citation of two books, but you really need more references if you can find them, coverage in Bridge magazines, websites etc, and citations should use one of the appropriate templates such as {{Cite book}} or {{Cite journal}}. How do you thank someone who edits a page about you?

I found an article on Wikipedia about me and a company I founded. The article a few months ago was a terrible distortion - since whoever wrote it hadn't been there. A friend, cleaned it up, and there have been several "unknown" attempts at rewriting it. I checked today and whoever "cleaned" it up - actually did a good job.

How do yoy post a "thank you" for the people who cleaned it up? Is that kosher? Also, how do you keep it the way it is - so no one else messes it up - or is that one of the drawbacks of Wiki?

You can check the "history" tab of the article to see who has been editing the page, and leave messages on their talk pages (the "talk" link next to each name, and then click "new section" to start a new thread). It is entirely kosher to thank people for their hard work, as long as you don't go overboard (use your own discretion). As for making sure no one messes it up, unlike some other Wikis, Wikipedia allows articles to be edited by anyone, at anytime, except when there is excessive disruption on a page. Otherwise, you are free to check back on the article from time to time to see how it's doing, and you can ask at the help desk if you're not sure what's going on. First please read WP:COI - in your position as "SEO/Social Media Specialist at Ultimate Software", you clearly have a conflict of interest and are strongly advised not to create or edit articles where you have a conflict. Second, as a NASDAQ listed company the subject almost certainly meets the notability criteria set out at WP:CORP, however the article is rather spammy (referring to the company's products as "solutions",and using the circle-R are Marketing 101) and the list of "Recognition" is too long and should be limited to nationally recognised awards from major publications or institutions. Please take a look at articles for other major companies to see how they balance the good and bad. There are other outlets such as WikiCompany. Agree with the above. That said, often new business articles are overly detailed with structural / marketing material that is irrelevent in an encyclopedia. Hi Orangemike, sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I say "our website" because I sometimes work on the project and they gave me the task of sharing information about the database. It is a database of freely available data that is downloadable on the website so no costs are involved at all. The project was initiated by the European Climate Support Network (ECSN) but is coordinated by KNMI. Do you still consider this a conflict of interest?

Also, can you please explain to me why all of my external links have been broken?

“Mark has developed a career that combines science and photography, in spite of being a high school dropout. Although his family was not academic, encouraged by his parents he sought out biologists by the age of 12. “ [1] Moffett received his BA in Biology at Beloit College in Wisconsin in 1979. He received his PhD from Harvard University where he studied with E. O. Wilson, who developed the field of sociobiology. Mark was the first PhD candidate that Wilson had accepted in about a decade, but Mark was so fascinated by ant behavior that Wilson agreed to accept him as a student. Moffett taught himself novel photographic techniques for his 1989 Ph.D. on ants. National Geographic magazine published these novel photographs, and he went on to become a top photojournalist of that magazine^[1] Moffett became curator of ants at Harvard, and then directed Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology. His research concerns insect social behavior and the structure and dynamics of forest ecosystems, particularly their canopies. He travels the world studying different insects and ecosystems. He has investigated and written about ^[2]canopies of the Amazon rain forest, where he operates a research station in Peru. He also has worked on the supertall coniferous forests of the Pacific Northwest, for which he led the first ever ascent and study of the world's tallest tree, known as the National Geographic redwood. In 1993 Harvard University Press published Moffett's book, The High Frontier: Exploring the Tropical Rainforest Canopy ^[3]. He has a new book coming out in early 2010. Today his research and National Geographic photography are interspersed with writing and public lecturing about rain forests. In 2010, he is Research Associate, NMNH, the Smithsonian Institution, Associate Curator, the University of California, Berkeley, and Contract Photographer, National Geographic Magazine. He also operates a research station in the Amazon Rainforest in Peru along the Amazon River. A photomural he produced there can be seen at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI.

Among his achievements, his home page is ^[4], giving a list of over 80 peer-reviewed publications and 20 articles in National Geographic. Among his awards are the Lowell Thomas Medal from National Geographic ^[5], and the Beloit College Roy Chapman Andrews Award ^[6]. He has written books on ants, frogs, and the rainforest ^[7].

Sun Yat-sen's prayer at the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor

Hi

This is my first article (lot of fun). In fact I have never edited a page either. I was going through the page on Sun Yat-sen trying to find out about this prayer that he made at the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor. I had seen a reference to the fact that Sun Yat-sen had visited and prayed at the tomb three days after he took power in a book on the Forbidden city. I got very curious as to why he, who had been trying to overthrow the Qing dynasty, would visit the tomb of the founder of the Ming dynasty. In any case one thing led to another and I managed to find the original prayer mentioned in a book published in 1912.

I would like to add a reference to this prayer in Sun Yat-sen's original article and as such would like to add the prayer itself as an article which can be then be linked.

For starters, welcome to Wikipedia. Please continue to edit here. Looking at the article on Sun Yat-Sen, I see no reason for this to be a separate article. But it is very well written and sourced and probably belongs within the article if it is indeed notable enough. Thanks for the quick feedback. I think this was a very graceful tribute by Sun Yat-sen to the Ming Emperor and as such should be part of the page on him - also points to the centuries long conflicts that have taken place between the Chinese Han race and the Eastern and Western Tartars. I am going to have to disagree with the above comments. The place for the complete text of the prayer is Wikisource - the text can be posted there and linked to in the main article. Having an interest in the world of chant generally, I read through the proposed article and checked for Newman and Durga Das on line. The text of the article is pretty much all based on personal websites and social media. I was unable to find a third-party source beyong the one Yoga magazine and it seems to be more pr than anything else. Until there are reviews of the albums or the studio in WP:RS, which might occur after the new album which is still in the porudction process, this appears to be a local musician/entrepreneur looking for WP publicity. I would say certainly not yet; the subject needs to have more more prominence than he has right now. If you have a careful read through Wikipedia's guidelines for notability in musicians, you will see that this individual meets none of the tests as far as I can tell. Thank you for taking a look and for your feedback.

One of the guidelines for notability is "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)" which I believe is applicable here since Newman's new album is being released through Nutone/Nettwerk, as was his last. The latest album was produced by a Grammy-award winning producer, who is also listed on WP. In addition, though chant is certainly a niche genre that will never get mainstream air time, there are other kirtan artists on WP who are also now making music through Nettwork/Nutone.

Would it help to have more review articles referenced for past albums? I did not do so since a lot of the information was repeat or strictly reviews of albums.

A few more points that might help the case: Newman has been putting albums out since 2003. In 2004 his second album was reviewed on NPR. In 2008 he was mentioned in an article called "Yoga Rock Stars" in Yoga+Joyful Living Magazine.

In any case thanks again for taking the time. I won't say the impetus for this article is devoid of promotional considerations but I have tried to make it objective and do want to respect the WP guidelines. I wouldn't submit an article if I didn't believe the person belonged here. However, if the consensus is to wait, I will.

I appreciate your work and your interest, AmaruKR. However, I am still not seeing notable here as WP defines it for musicians; "at least" ia an absolute minimum standard. If there is some press in a major publication about the person, that might be helpful; the Yoga magazine is more pr than news, I think, and so is much of the writing still. As for the albums, if they get significant coverage, they might warrant an article with a paragraph on the musician, but I am not even seeing the grounds for that yet. This is just my opinion. Jim Lord, Singer/songwriter

Jim Lord, Singer/songwriter Jim Lord, singer/songwriter requesting feedback on article. Lord is considered by many to be "one of the best artists you hear little about" (source: CHIC Magazine, Music Notes, January 1983 Issue, P.9). He was a singer/songwriter in the 70's/80's, influenced by the British folk scene, recorded a couple of successful albums but changed career tracks in the mid-80's to pursue a career in photojournalism, where he was a very successful, award winning, wartime photojournalist particularly known for his work in Nicaragua and Guatemala during the civil wars in those areas on the 1980s (the information on his photojournalism career is NOT included in his musicians bio page, but for your edification). Lord returned to his singer/songwriter roots in early 2000's and is currently working on an album, scheduled for release later in 2010.

It's coming along nicely. In the headings, only capitalize the first word. The Manual of style helps with such things. Make sure you refer to the subject as "Estlow" throughout; avoid chatty phrasing like "Ed and his wife". Don't include the names of his children unless any of them are notable in their own right. Include links to relevant firms and institutions, especially University of Denver, on first mention. When you say "internal university documentation", that may be all right, but we prefer to use sources that other people can check. If you are referring to university web pages, give the URLs. I can't say what will or won't save an article from deletion, since I'm not really involved in that part of the process at this point. I will say I think that if you move the article into your user space and work on it some more there, it's got a better chance of lasting longer. And yes, what I take from the article in it's current state is here's a PR firm seeking PR on the basis of the fame of the people who are associated with them. The layout is fine and some of the material is neutral and factual, but in parts it reads like a promotional piece written by the senator herself or a press officer, and contains a number of peacock terms and value judgements: (“... a tireless and determined writer” “... effective and strong political control” “...her most outstanding work is ...” “...solid professional background that keeps growing every day”). These all need to be removed or rewritten in a neutral tone, as does the comment about “the government’s inefficient management of the financial crisis” which is political bias. If you are writing this on behalf of Ms. Lopez, you should read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest carefully before proceeding further. If you do go ahead, the second sentence in the lead section would be better as the first sentence, stating exactly what Ms Lopez does before anything else. Most crucially of all, this article is completely unreferenced and has no citations at all for any of the information in it. You need to find reliable third-party sources and cite these correctly - see Wikipedia: Citing sources. The two links to Ms Lopez’s websites are currently embedded in the text; they should be removed to an external links section at the end.

I am slightly concerned by your reference to an “official” version in English. Please bear in mind that if this article goes live it is in no sense an official work: you will not own it and nor will Ms Lopez. Anyone can and will edit it, and you will have no right to keep your own preferred version. It's a well constructed, well organised and and generally well written article, though it suffers somewhat from POV language and "anecdotism" in places and should be toned down to a more neutral style. The lead section should be more specific about what the subject actually did - his notability isn't down to his university, it's down to his work as a TV production executive. I did have some anxiety about his notability at first, because there are few checkable references and those that exist don't make too strong a case for his notability, but reading through WP:N again I think he makes it on his association with pioneering programmes for public TV, and perhaps this could be emphasised more in the article. The "personal interview" cited in several places is an inadmissible piece of original research unless it's published somewhere in a neutral third party source, and it should be removed from the citations list along with any important facts that rely solely on it. Subheadings should be initial capitals only, per WP:MOS. The article title should not have both versions of his name in, and should be changed to Jim Case if that's how he was always known, or alternatively James W. I have taken a look and made some formatting fixes to the headings to comply with the manual of style. The subject would appear to be notable. A couple of points - please take a look at WP:LEAD for an explanation of what the lead section should do. At the moment it is not at all clear from the lead what the subject actually is/means. Also there is some jargon in the article which may not be immediately comprehensible to the layman reader. When it is ready to move to the mainspace, I think Employer branding would be the correct title. You have plenty of references, which is good. If any of them are online, please use the {{cite web}} template to cite them, and similarly {{cite book}} for citations from books and {{cite journal}} for journals. I don't think "bimetallism" should be capitalized. I changed it.
I made a few other minor fixes, you can click on history to see what I did (ask if you need more help on how to see historical changes).
I'm not enamored with "disestablished" as a word choice under causes. What about "repealed" (assuming it was repealed)?
You have some phrases indented with a bullet point for no obvious reason, e.g "Owned by Reverend Thomas Uzzell".
Your opening sentence of "Effects" could use a more specific time frame.
The next sentence is too long, consider changing July to "in July and ending the sentence there.
The sentence that starts "Many unemployed miners.." needs work—it starts fine, but ends awkwardly.
The sentence starting "August 11, 1893" shouldn't start with a bare date; work it into the text. The end of that sentence is awkward; I can guess what it means, but it needs improvement.
After footnote 12, you should have text that flows, not bullet point type items in text.
In the last sentence before Politics, this should not be a bulleted. What does "this" refer to? "broadway" shows are in New York. I assume you mean something like theatrical productions.
In People, I presume all of these people are dead, so it is odd to see the death date for one of the people. I suggest removing it.
"Only saved from destitution in 1898 by his appointment to Postmaster." Is not a sentence.

By "posted" I assume you mean you want it to show up if someone does a search for it. That won't happen until it is moved into mainspace, but that shouldn't happen until it is ready.

Hamilton Bradshaw

The Wikipedia page Hamilton Bradshaw was recently created. Much thanks to the help that has been provided by my peers editing the page. However, as can be noted when viewing the page, there is still work to be done. Specifically, I need help removing the "advert" designation at the top of the page. It was added when the page was more biased than it is now, but I think almost all of the bias has been eliminated. Can someone please review the page and help me to make it sound completely neutral? I would really like to get the "advert" designation removed.

Additionally, to get the page legitimized, the page states that "This page is a new unreviewed article." I would like for a verified Wikipedian to review the site and remove this designation when reviewed. I would love for the site to be legitimized. Thanks for your time.

I think this one needs a lot of work on the tone, it's still very promotional. For example, these phrases are very far from a neutral point of view:

Hi Orangemike, sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I say "our website" because I sometimes work on the project and they gave me the task of sharing information about the database. It is a database of freely available data that is downloadable on the website so no costs are involved at all. The project was initiated by the European Climate Support Network (ECSN) but is coordinated by KNMI. Do you still consider this a conflict of interest?

National Geographic magazine published these novel photographs, and he went on to become a top photojournalist of that magazine^[1] Moffett became curator of ants at Harvard, and then directed Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology. His research concerns insect social behavior and the structure and dynamics of forest ecosystems, particularly their canopies. He travels the world studying different insects and ecosystems. He has investigated and written about ^[2]canopies of the Amazon rain forest, where he operates a research station in Peru. He also has worked on the supertall coniferous forests of the Pacific Northwest, for which he led the first ever ascent and study of the world's tallest tree, known as the National Geographic redwood. In 1993 Harvard University Press published Moffett's book, The High Frontier: Exploring the Tropical Rainforest Canopy ^[3]. He has a new book coming out in early 2010. Today his research and National Geographic photography are interspersed with writing and public lecturing about rain forests. In 2010, he is Research Associate, NMNH, the Smithsonian Institution, Associate Curator, the University of California, Berkeley, and Contract Photographer, National Geographic Magazine. He also operates a research station in the Amazon Rainforest in Peru along the Amazon River. A photomural he produced there can be seen at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI.

Among his achievements, his home page is ^[4], giving a list of over 80 peer-reviewed publications and 20 articles in National Geographic. Sun Yat-sen's prayer at the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor

This is my first article (lot of fun). In fact I have never edited a page either. I was going through the page on Sun Yat-sen trying to find out about this prayer that he made at the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor. I had seen a reference to the fact that Sun Yat-sen had visited and prayed at the tomb three days after he took power in a book on the Forbidden city. I got very curious as to why he, who had been trying to overthrow the Qing dynasty, would visit the tomb of the founder of the Ming dynasty. In any case one thing led to another and I managed to find the original prayer mentioned in a book published in 1912.

I would like to add a reference to this prayer in Sun Yat-sen's original article and as such would like to add the prayer itself as an article which can be then be linked.

Having an interest in the world of chant generally, I read through the proposed article and checked for Newman and Durga Das on line. The text of the article is pretty much all based on personal websites and social media. I was unable to find a third-party source beyong the one Yoga magazine and it seems to be more pr than anything else. Until there are reviews of the albums or the studio in WP:RS, which might occur after the new album which is still in the porudction process, this appears to be a local musician/entrepreneur looking for WP publicity. I would say certainly not yet; the subject needs to have more more prominence than he has right now. If you have a careful read through Wikipedia's guidelines for notability in musicians, you will see that this individual meets none of the tests as far as I can tell. One of the guidelines for notability is "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)" which I believe is applicable here since Newman's new album is being released through Nutone/Nettwerk, as was his last. The latest album was produced by a Grammy-award winning producer, who is also listed on WP. In addition, though chant is certainly a niche genre that will never get mainstream air time, there are other kirtan artists on WP who are also now making music through Nettwork/Nutone.

Would it help to have more review articles referenced for past albums? I did not do so since a lot of the information was repeat or strictly reviews of albums.

A few more points that might help the case: Newman has been putting albums out since 2003. In 2004 his second album was reviewed on NPR. In 2008 he was mentioned in an article called "Yoga Rock Stars" in Yoga+Joyful Living Magazine.

In any case thanks again for taking the time. I won't say the impetus for this article is devoid of promotional considerations but I have tried to make it objective and do want to respect the WP guidelines. I wouldn't submit an article if I didn't believe the person belonged here. However, if the consensus is to wait, I will.

I appreciate your work and your interest, AmaruKR. However, I am still not seeing notable here as WP defines it for musicians; "at least" ia an absolute minimum standard. If there is some press in a major publication about the person, that might be helpful; the Yoga magazine is more pr than news, I think, and so is much of the writing still. As for the albums, if they get significant coverage, they might warrant an article with a paragraph on the musician, but I am not even seeing the grounds for that yet. This is just my opinion. Jim Lord, Singer/songwriter

Jim Lord, Singer/songwriter Jim Lord, singer/songwriter requesting feedback on article. Lord is considered by many to be "one of the best artists you hear little about" (source: CHIC Magazine, Music Notes, January 1983 Issue, P.9). He was a singer/songwriter in the 70's/80's, influenced by the British folk scene, recorded a couple of successful albums but changed career tracks in the mid-80's to pursue a career in photojournalism, where he was a very successful, award winning, wartime photojournalist particularly known for his work in Nicaragua and Guatemala during the civil wars in those areas on the 1980s (the information on his photojournalism career is NOT included in his musicians bio page, but for your edification). Lord returned to his singer/songwriter roots in early 2000's and is currently working on an album, scheduled for release later in 2010.

It's coming along nicely. In the headings, only capitalize the first word. The Manual of style helps with such things. Make sure you refer to the subject as "Estlow" throughout; avoid chatty phrasing like "Ed and his wife". Don't include the names of his children unless any of them are notable in their own right. Include links to relevant firms and institutions, especially University of Denver, on first mention. When you say "internal university documentation", that may be all right, but we prefer to use sources that other people can check. If you are referring to university web pages, give the URLs. I can't say what will or won't save an article from deletion, since I'm not really involved in that part of the process at this point. I will say I think that if you move the article into your user space and work on it some more there, it's got a better chance of lasting longer. And yes, what I take from the article in it's current state is here's a PR firm seeking PR on the basis of the fame of the people who are associated with them. For example, it isn't appropriate to have the full postal address; the city is sufficient. The article could be about half the length. I’m afraid this is not suitable to go live at present, firstly because it does not comply with Wikipedia’s policy on neutral point of view. The layout is fine and some of the material is neutral and factual, but in parts it reads like a promotional piece written by the senator herself or a press officer, and contains a number of peacock terms and value judgements: (“... a tireless and determined writer” “... effective and strong political control” “...her most outstanding work is ...” “...solid professional background that keeps growing every day”). These all need to be removed or rewritten in a neutral tone, as does the comment about “the government’s inefficient management of the financial crisis” which is political bias. If you are writing this on behalf of Ms. Lopez, you should read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest carefully before proceeding further. If you do go ahead, the second sentence in the lead section would be better as the first sentence, stating exactly what Ms Lopez does before anything else. Most crucially of all, this article is completely unreferenced and has no citations at all for any of the information in it. You need to find reliable third-party sources and cite these correctly - see Wikipedia: Citing sources. The two links to Ms Lopez’s websites are currently embedded in the text; they should be removed to an external links section at the end.

I am slightly concerned by your reference to an “official” version in English. Please bear in mind that if this article goes live it is in no sense an official work: you will not own it and nor will Ms Lopez. Anyone can and will edit it, and you will have no right to keep your own preferred version. It's a well constructed, well organised and and generally well written article, though it suffers somewhat from POV language and "anecdotism" in places and should be toned down to a more neutral style. The lead section should be more specific about what the subject actually did - his notability isn't down to his university, it's down to his work as a TV production executive. I did have some anxiety about his notability at first, because there are few checkable references and those that exist don't make too strong a case for his notability, but reading through WP:N again I think he makes it on his association with pioneering programmes for public TV, and perhaps this could be emphasised more in the article. The "personal interview" cited in several places is an inadmissible piece of original research unless it's published somewhere in a neutral third party source, and it should be removed from the citations list along with any important facts that rely solely on it. Subheadings should be initial capitals only, per WP:MOS. The article title should not have both versions of his name in, and should be changed to Jim Case if that's how he was always known, or alternatively James W. I have taken a look and made some formatting fixes to the headings to comply with the manual of style. The subject would appear to be notable. A couple of points - please take a look at WP:LEAD for an explanation of what the lead section should do. At the moment it is not at all clear from the lead what the subject actually is/means. Also there is some jargon in the article which may not be immediately comprehensible to the layman reader. When it is ready to move to the mainspace, I think Employer branding would be the correct title. You have plenty of references, which is good. If any of them are online, please use the {{cite web}} template to cite them, and similarly {{cite book}} for citations from books and {{cite journal}} for journals. Entries in "See Also" should not be full links but Wikilinks. I fixed the first two for you.
Please read Article Layout, as your layout does not match the desired layout.
Links in External Links should not be the same ones as in References.
You have a Notes section with some references, but a separate Reference section with others. The second section is not how references are done. See footnotes
In many cases, you've linked to a term in WP, but used the full url, not just the Wikilink. I fixed the ones in your lede, as examples.
Most importantly, you said you obtained permission to use material. This is a tricky and serious area. Sometimes, people will give permission to use material as long as it is used in Wikipedia only. That type of permission is not sufficient, and people need to understand that once in Wikipedia, it can be used elsewhere, for many purposes include for profit and for parody. You need to have permission sent to Wikipedia, in proper format. See WP:COPYRIGHT for general info, and WP:PERMISSION for specific steps to ensure that proper permission is obtained. I don't think "bimetallism" should be capitalized. I changed it.
I made a few other minor fixes, you can click on history to see what I did (ask if you need more help on how to see historical changes).
I'm not enamored with "disestablished" as a word choice under causes. What about "repealed" (assuming it was repealed)?
You have some phrases indented with a bullet point for no obvious reason, e.g "Owned by Reverend Thomas Uzzell".
Your opening sentence of "Effects" could use a more specific time frame.
The next sentence is too long, consider changing July to "in July and ending the sentence there.
The sentence that starts "Many unemployed miners.." needs work—it starts fine, but ends awkwardly.
The sentence starting "August 11, 1893" shouldn't start with a bare date; work it into the text. The end of that sentence is awkward; I can guess what it means, but it needs improvement.
After footnote 12, you should have text that flows, not bullet point type items in text.
In the last sentence before Politics, this should not be a bulleted. What does "this" refer to? "broadway" shows are in New York. I assume you mean something like theatrical productions.
In People, I presume all of these people are dead, so it is odd to see the death date for one of the people. I suggest removing it.
"Only saved from destitution in 1898 by his appointment to Postmaster." Is not a sentence.

By "posted" I assume you mean you want it to show up if someone does a search for it. That won't happen until it is moved into mainspace, but that shouldn't happen until it is ready.

Sorry to be blunt, but it reads like a advertisement, not an encyclopedia article. See WP:PROMO.

You haven't established why this company has Notability. I'm sure it will meet the standard; I'm familiar with the company, but you need to establish it by providing references to reliable sources. As it stands, I would say that it fails the notability requirements. I've had a pretty good look online, and not found any sources to really help - I can't tell if this was published/independent, this paper isn't online, this is a primary source - and they were the better ones I could find.

I don't see enough material to expand it much, either.

Unfortunately, there are quite a few problems with this article. I will mark it as reviewed, and will add 'tags' at the top of the page, to indicate some of the issues. Some important points are;

It is written in non-encyclopaedic 'corporate-speak' - as an example, To successfully develop positions and standards for the property records industry, and see them implemented, a broad based constituency must be established and maintained. - this sounds like an advertisement, not an encyclopaedic article.
I removed the external link to PRIA from the first section; external website links should only be used for either references, or in the 'External links' section at the end - not within the body
A large amount of the text cannot be verified through third-party sources; as such, it is over-coverage. The sections "How PRIA works", "Why Do Standards Matter?", "What are the PRIA Standards?" and "PRIA's Experience Resources" are particularly inappropriate in an article. None of the information presented here looks to be verifiable, and thus is likely to be removed.
It says "national government" - but it does not say which nation; is it American?
There are very few wikilinks

This demonstrates why we are so careful about conflict of interest situations; it is extremely difficult to write a neutral, balanced article. It is necessary to imagine that you knew nothing at all about the organization, and to write the article only presenting facts that any person would be able to check, from independent reliable sources.

It's a fine start, though it could certainly use more detail on his life and his novels. I've made a number of edits and added some material. When you are ready to go live, simply move it to the correct title. On that issue, from my review of sources, it appears that he is better known, and his novels were published, without his middle name. If so, the article should probably be moved to Godfrey Kalimugogo, though you would keep his middle name in the article. Note that I have placed the categories in nowiki tags because the article is not yet in the mainspace; when you move it, remove the nowiki tags. This is the first full article I've written and wanted to open this up for review. The subject is George_T._Heery, a famous American architect who is most notable for his contributions to the foundation of the Construction Program Management industry. Regarding notability, Heery's first firm Heery International, is an internationally known company and Heery is widely known throughout the design and construction industry. I am continuing to do research to improve the article but felt that the article has reached a point where it might be ready for moving to main space soon. The one outstanding item I've marked for citation is the number of construction projects executed using a particular delivery method developed by the subject; I'm awaiting information from the General Services Adminstration, which apparently uses this process quite often. Sorry for the delayed response. In general the article looks acceptable although to really get constructive feedback please ask at the Architecture Wikiproject. If you look at the article talkpage I've added their tag. Follow that link and ask there, you'll get feedback in that specific subject area that concerns his notability. There is some extra layers of formatting but those are mainly a stylistic concern compared to the content. You would need to add reliable sources to establish notability. I think a better solution would be to merge this info into Stuyvesant, New York and then redirect it there. If you do merge this info it will need to be established through reliable sources that Stuyvesant Falls was once called Glencadia because at this point the external links do not establish this. Hello world!

I've just created the Create Synchronicity Wikipedia article, describing briefly the backup application bearing that name. Since I'm it's developer, it may not be totally objective, although I tried to be as Neutral as I could. The application is growing int terms of user base, and I thought it deserved its entry on the List of backup software page. As the software needed to have its own article to appear on the list, I created the article to.

Create Synchronicity has been written about by many sources, in many different languages. It was recently updated to version 3.0, and already appears in the French Wikipedia.

Could you please review this article? I'm pretty new to creating fully new articles.

There is at least one mistake in the article it curently says, "Its development started in June 2010." I am not sure what date belong there.

Currently the article does not explain why it is significant it just states the software exists and what features it has. I would suggest you read through the notability guideline, Wikipedia:Notability. The main thing you will need to do is add references from reliable sources to the information in the article so that it can be verified. I suggest you remove the links in the article that go back to the projects sourceforge site, it's release notes, or any web pages that automatically collect and publish data about the code. What you need are more links like the karp review (although that one's not a great reference, it's better than the others). Not all software packages are notable--I think you have a tough row to hoe here. I think you would be best off to start by adding this project to the List of backup software article. Fascinating.

It will no doubt not surprise you that Wikipedia articles rarely rely solely on references that are not available online, but it is not a requirement that they be online. (Sorry about the multiple negatives). One worry I had was how to confirm the basic story, but this (sort of) online link from the Atlanta Constitution will both help satisfy that concern and add to your point about widespread coverage.
Wikipedia articles except for stubs, are not generally written as a single section. I don't have a lot of useful advice beyond breaking out a WP:LEAD, but check out Article Layout and see if there is a natural way to have a lead followed by two or three sections.
I didn't like the phrasing "said that" (used twice). Is it really necessary, or can it be written in a more straightforward way.
The External Link was a placeholder in the Wizard for you to add any if you had any. I removed it,
I made a tiny grammatical change.
Nice work, I won't be surprised if this article is challenged for inclusion, but I hope it survives.

Slobodan origins

I am trying to research the Family surname Slobodan. From what I have found, it was dirived from the word Sloboda which ment freedom or Peace. I know that the name Slobodan is a very comon firts name but from what I read and understand from speaking to people in the so called "Old Country" the name Slobodan is rare as a last name. My family came over from Galicia, Austria in 1909 and setteled in Canada. Can someone please more information on the last name Slobodan and where it may have originated. I made a couple small fixes.
Someone has added tags noting that the article has no WP:LEAD and needs a better introduction. A good lede could solve both issues.
The external link is subscription only - not having a subscription, I cannot determine whether it should be in here, but per WP:ELNO (see item 6) probably not.
Many mathematical articles do not follow current practice regarding referencing. Presumably because many of them were created years ago, before referencing guidelines were written. I don't know whether they have been grandfathered, and new articles should comply, or if the community accept that math article will not be properly referenced. If I find discussion of this point, I'll pass it along—at this time, I'm just noting that it doesn't meet my referencing standards.

Your reference (Buium) lists 1998 as a publication date. Are you sure it isn't 2005?

Well, I personally don't think she herself is notable, and the article doesn't contain very good references. Links to personal home pages, to youtube, and esp links to a site owned by the subject of a biographical article are not good sources, see Biographies of Living Persons for more information. Mere lists of interviews and speaking engagements do not really establish notability and do not really contribute much information to the article. The link to http://www.womensfoundca.org/site/pp.aspx?c=aqKGLROAIrH&b=4993029&printmode=1#LADC might help if it mentioned her, but I do not see any information about her located there. What you need are articles from reputable magazines and newspapers, books, or the like. The article is also very promotional in tone, and lacks a neutral point of view. Sections also appear to be directly copied from press releases on external web sites, eg: http://vanguardpress.net/book.php?isbn=9781593154912, http://www.everythingfinanceblog.com/2009/01/book-review-put-your-money-where-your.html. First, I'll note this is the type of article I enjoy seeing added to WP. However, there are some challenges to overcome.

You've provided references, but not in the required format. See WP:CITE for help. Additionally, it is not sufficient to merely list the references, you have to provide footnotes to identify which references support which claims. See footnotes.

I'm surprised at the claim that this was the second largest telescope at the time. While it was obviously smaller than the Rosse, it may also have been smaller than Herschel's telescope. (Here, we may have to do some sleuthing, as 40-foot telescope identifies it as a 48 inch, but List of largest optical telescopes historically identifies it as 49.5 in. This is one reason why it would help to see the specific reference, to help sort this out.

A New Romanticism

A New Romanticism is an idea developed by Andrew Chavez who has published several books with that title. Those books are: A New Romanticism: Essays and Poems; A New Romanticism: Updated And Revised, and: The Expanded Version of A New Romanticism. The latter two books are recommended for a full discussion. Chavez has also published books that either illustrate his ideas or are inspired by his original idea. His other books are Shanidar Cave, Three Verse Plays, and A Modern Romantic Odyssey.

Chavez states that Nietzsche was wrong to say that God is dead because the naturally occurring mental attribute that gave birth to the idea of God is alive and well; indeed, that naturally occuring mental attribute that gave birth to the idea of God is a vital part of what it means to be human. The idea is that native genius, an attribute of mind that gives a person an intense sensation of truth and beauty, is what the ancient prophets called God. All the attributes and adjectives that describe God also describe the experience of native genius. The reason, according to Chavez, that God and native genius share the same qualities and general descriptions, is that they are one and the same thing. Chavez bases his belief about God and native genius on his own personal experiences along with his reading both of the Bible and other authors who talk about who God is, what He is all about, and the qualities that God has such as truth, beauty, splendor, glory, radiance, and etc.

The significance of Chavez's belief is that there is no loss that we need suffer as individuals or a society as the word or idea of God weakens and may finally disappear; there is no loss because we have the original source of God as a natural inheritance, and that natural inheritance belongs to every member of the species. God may die but as individuals we can still experience an awe-inspiring, and often life-changing sensation, that is natural to the mental attribute called native genius. God, as native genius, stays with us and continues to do all that we have ever ascibed to God's power, only now, God is no longer needed or mentioned.

Chavez sees the whole process of creation and innovation as a survival mechanism that eons of evolution has put inside of our minds; indeed, Chavez says we have two minds. One deals with routine and habitual behaviors while the other is for unique circumstances that need creative solutions. Along with native genius, there are two other sources of creativity and innovation: creative and symbolic genius. Creative genius is the Eureka effect and deals with especially difficult problems. Symbolic genius is not concerned with specific problems like creative genius; instead, symbolic genius offers words, music, images, or other symbolic stimuli to give us uplifting experiences that may also be useful in our work.

A new romanticism says that all members of the species have native, creative, and symbolic genius. Chavez says that the present and future will have to deal with this concept of a broadened out concept of genius like Victorians had to deal with Freud and the concept of sex. All people have native, creative, and symbolic genius. Those three forms of genius are the water in which we swim because they are the creative and innovative centers that give us all myths, fictions, and illusions while also being the sources that give us the very best of our arts and sciences generally.

Chavez isolates, describes, and characterizes each of the three forms of genius that we now recognize as both creative centers and sources that feed our will to life. Native genius is what fuels our will to life because the truth and beauty it offers is so overpowering that we become mesmerized by it; just like a person responds to God; again, there is good reason for this similiar response: God and native genius are the same thing; they both serve, or had served, the same function.

Thus, Chavez argues that the minimalism and dislike of otherworldly forces, central parts of modernism, are all wrong. We have every reason to think on a grand scale and to conduct ourselves with honor and dignity, or at least, as much as possible. Early modernists were wrong to attack Christianity so strongly. Christianity has kept a vital truth alive for us that a new romanticism is currently putting to good use. Native, creative, and symbolic genius can act in surprising and sometimes miraculous seeming ways; so then, we have to be careful about how strictly we define "otherworldly;" what is more, we do not need to feel lost, weak, bereft, alienated, or anything else that modernism tells us is part of what it means to be modern. We have the same inspiring sources that belong to our most productive ages. We have lost nothing of antiquity's motivation for splendor, glory, truth, or beauty. Again, we have the same motivations as during religion's strongest eras because the creative sources for all revelatory religions are still with us. If God and His splendor were ever the motivation to do great things then that same motivation remains with us in native genius.

Chavez admits that the "full force" experience that native genius can offer is not something that everyone has, but then, weaker versions are common to one and all. He describes those lesser, but still very potent native genius experiences, by pointing out how we feel when admiring a broad panoramic scene in nature or when we get carried away by music, looking at a stunning painting, or when we stare at our beloved and know that we have never seen anyone so beautiful. These powerful sensations are native genius in their lesser forms, and yet, they still act as survival mechanisms by making our lives more truthful and beautiful; they make us more willing to sacrifice and endure. The last person to build a religion on native genius was Joseph Smith (Mormonism), but then, Taoism, Platonism, and of course, Christianity and Judaism are born from the same revelatory experiences that belong to native genius. We are all prone to these "full force" experiences, but we do not all work so thoroughly with them, if we do anything at all beyond enjoy them as they are acting upon us.

Chavez tells us that a new romanticism is especially focused on those who are displeased both with traditional religion and with secularism although he is quick to add that his discovery has a lot to offer to our whole understanding of creativity and genius itself. Genius is not a singular quality. It has three fundamental parts that belong to all people; not everyone can use his or her own "native divines" with broad-ranging matters but we all use them routinely throughout our lives.

Native, creative, and symbolic genius act by way of revelation. Think of the Eureka effect as an example and then consider how contributions made by way of "revelations" have given significantly to the best of our artists and sciences. This is why Chavez says that our "natural divines" have always led mankind in the past and should be encoured to do the same for the present and future. According to Chavez, modernity is no longer fit for modern times because it is too restrictive and too prone to producing mediocrity. Chavez sees a new romanticism as a bridge from the present to our future.

(1) The tone of this article tends toward the promotional in places. "Award-winning" is not necessarily a peacock term in Wikipedia, but it is flagged as a term to watch out for and may indicate a tendency toward promotional tone, particularly where the awards in question are given by industry insiders to one another, and are not well known outside a small niche market. I would certainly remove the term "Award-winning" from the title of section 3, since not all works in the section seem to have won awards, and would also prefer not to see it in the lead section either.

(2) The section listing all the organization's publications and productions is too long and too detailed. The catalogue of every award each production has ever been given is unnecessary and also unhelpful in its current form; since none of the awards or awarding bodies is Wikilinked, readers cannot easily research them to determine the relative importance of the award anyway.

(3) The article needs to be Wikified, with more internal links to other articles. Individuals mentioned by name in the article should be Wikilinked to their articles. If they are not notable enough in their own right to have a Wikipedia article, consider whether it is appropriate to mention them in this one (it may be so, if they have a prominent role in the organization, but otherwise probably not).

(4) Titles of films and books should be standardized to italic font.

(5) The inline citations to the external websites chinstitute and chitorch should be removed from the body of the text per WP:MOS - they are fine in the external links section but should be expanded to display a clear description of what they are.

(6) Most of the references cited are to the organization's own publications, and none are linked to be verifiable online. I have no doubt about the organization's notability or the accuracy of the facts stated, but citations to further reliable, third-party sources would improve the article greatly, particularly if some of these were verifiable online (although this last is not an essential requirement for referencing on Wikipedia).

Just a thought from somebody who loves this site but knows nothing more than how to enjoy it. Steven Speilberg & Tom Hanks just started a series called "The Pacific" that is similar to "Band of Brothers." Wikipedia is an amazingly good source of information to help people follow that show. Next week's episode will be well explained by the above link. Not sure what you can do to get people's attention about that. How about you feature this on your home page? The article on the Main Page is chosen from those that have been awarded "featured article" status for their high quality. Guadalcanal Campaign is already such an article and thus would be a suitable candidate. The place to propose this is Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests. The day's featured article is planned well in advance, so next week would be too late, I fear. The team who work on that project quite often do match the theme of the article to a significant date, although I am not sure whether a TV broadcast in one region of one country, or even in one country as a whole, would be deemed a sufficiently important event to influence the choice of article for that day. The English language Wikipedia is used by English speakers all over the world, after all. But it's certainly worth making some suggestions on the request page linked above if you feel they'll be appropriate. As the originator of this new technique, you have a potential conflict of interest and are strongly discouraged from writing about it on Wikipedia. The argument runs thus: if the subject is notable enough, sooner or later an uninvolved third party will come along and write the article. From what I can see, and from a Google search, the only place your new technique appears to be discussed is in your own 2009 academic paper on the subject in the Journal of Applied Business Research. Wikipedia requires the subjects of articles to be notable and the information in them verifiable. This means that they need to have had significant coverage in multiple credible independent sources, which can be checked and verified. In the case of your new technique, unless you can add some more references to demonstrate that EBAC has become a recognised technique in accountancy and is more than a theoretical proposal in a single issue of one academic journal, I'm afraid the article should not be in Wikipedia at present and is liable to be proposed for deletion. If you can't produce more references as yet but believe they will be available presently, you can always move the article to your userspace and work on it there. The existing inline references do need to be formatted correctly (see Wikipedia:Citing sources). I have not been able to access your journal article, so I am assuming that the Wikipedia text - in particular, the examples that make up the bulk of it - is not copied directly from the JABR article. Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material unless it is specifically donated by the author (see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted material) so this would be another issue of concern. There is a typo in the title and it is not a standard form of disambiguating title so I moved it to David Pearl (businessman). At the moment the tone is way too promotional - it reads like a PR bio and needs to be toned down to a neutral point of view. There are some layout/formatting issues too: there is no need to insert hard paragraph breaks (<br />), as they add too much white space. Similarly, only single lines are necessary between paragraphs and sections. Also, we use sentence case for section titles, see WP:MOSHEAD. A good start! I moved the article to Richard J. Lazarus as there is no need for a disambiguating title (there is no other article titled "Richard J. Lazarus"). The subject almost certainly meets the notability guidelines at WP:PROF, but you need to cite the sources rather than just list the external links. Take a look at John Bell (professor) to see what I mean. It would also be helpful to use the {{tl}} template for the books as I did in the John Bell article. I have written an article on the English playwright Nick Grosso who doesn't appear to have an article devoted to him on Wikipedia, though he does get numerous mentions in other Wikipedia articles.

I would like some feedback on the article if possible, regarding if it has been done satisfactorily and to Wikipedia standard.

Also, I put it up live but I also posted it as a user draft, as I was confused. Hopefully this doesn't mean two Nick Grosso articles are put up. At the moment they are both the same, but I'm aware that one may get edited and then there would be two different articles on the same person.

I took the liberty of pulling the unreviewed notice off of the page. The text does need some work, I think, it's a bit terse, but that can happen over time. You have quite a bit of formatting issues. Headers are incorrect, first sentence the title should be bold, references are unformatted. Really important for new articles is to assert importance. Your article does that. But just googling the name, Maizex, I don't get many hits. Are you sure the company is Notable enough to warrant having a Wikipedia article? I don't think your article would be immediately deleted, but I'm not sure it would last through an AfD. Read over the WP:N and be sure Maizex is notable enough to have a Wikipedia article according to Wikipedia policy (notability here refers to criteria established by Wikipedia and is not used to disparage the company in any way). --Odie5533 (talk) 07:19, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

You can also post on the editor's talk page. That talk page is here. It is not unusual for a new editor to misunderstand the goals of Wikipedia, and post material without a lot of support. However, while I've never run across this editor to my knowledge, he was 50,000 edits, so he isn't a newbie. That doesn't mean he gets special treatment, in fact, it means he has no excuse for not knowing the rules. That article is more poorly sourced than is acceptable. I urge you to follow a guideline we call Assume Good Faith. If the statements in the article are not true, we will correct them or remove them, but civil comments will help the process.

I've now reviewed the contributions of the editor, and find a number of examples of other articles created without adequate referencing. Please note a policy of Wikipedia, that does sound odd to some people, but really makes sense - it is the conflict of interest policy, which means you should not edit an article about you. (although as mentioned, you are encouraged to post on the talk page. If you think it would be better to simply remove the article, I would be happy to propose it for deletion. That is a process that takes seven days, and a consensus of editors, but I think it is quite likely it would be deleted. If you'd prefer that it remain, but it should be corrected, we can address that as well. It's too promotional and lacks good references. For example, the article says "Finspreads pioneered fully-interactive online spread betting in 1999", and when I look at reference three, paragraph two starts "We pioneered fully interactive online spread betting in 1999 and we continue to invest in technology to ensure that our service remains amongst the market leaders." That's indicative not only of a WP:COI but also a potential copyright problem. The references are not very good:

References 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 12 all seem to emanate from the company itself (use of 1st person plural or are obvious press releases or has prose very similar to other references that are press releases or in the 1st person plural).

References 5 seems to mention finspreads only in passing.

References 6 seems completely irrelevant, but that may be a browser issue.

Reference 7 seems to me to just be the web site's designer's site and does nothing to establish notability

Reference 10 seems to be a fluff promotional piece for finspread's training course.

Reference 4 is ok.

So overall I'd say it needs a lot of work, and I'd add that I think the same holds for City Index Group page. If anything, it would probably be better to try to merge this article into the City Index Group page. Nuujinn (talk) 02:10, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

This is my first Wikipedia article, so I'm hoping I got it pretty close... Feedback would be much appreciated.

At the moment it reads like a promotional piece for the company and its founder, which is a violation of WP:Spam. Also, it does not demonstrate how or why the company is notable per the guidelines at WP:CORP, although it is possible that Brenner may be notable enough per WP:BIO for his sailing activities. In either case you will need to WP:CITE non-trivial coverage in multiple sources independent of the subject to show notability. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 14:03, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
