Frankford Middle School is a public secondary school in Dallas, Texas and part of the Plano Independent School District. Grade levels at the middle school are 6th through 8th grade. Incoming students are from Haggar Elementary, Hightower Elementary, Jackson Elementary and Mitchell Elementary Schools. Frankford students then attend Shepton High School (Grades 9-10) and then Plano West Senior High School (Grades 11-12).
Frankford Middle has been a part of the Collins County community since 2001. The schools' name came from the former town of Frankford which was established in the mid-1800s. In 2011, during the 2010-2011 school year, a kid brought in an airsoft gun to Frankford Middle School. This caused for a lock-down for Frankford and the school across the street, All Saints Catholic School. The student had previous behavioral issues.
Each grade level has a team of well qualified and dedicated teachers. Each grade offers the subjects Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Each grade is sectioned off into groups or "teams" because of the large number of students.
There are numerous electives at Frankford that the students may choose. The electives at Frankford are Theater/Speech, Tournament Preparation, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture, Advanced art, Technology Education, Skills for Living (Home Economics), Foreign Language, Orchestra, Band, Choir, and Athletics.
In athletics, there are several sports. They are track, basketball, football, cross country, and volleyball (volleyball being for girls only). Each sport has an A and B team, A generally being the better team.
