Triple Crown[edit]

Your majesty, it gives me great pleasure to bestow this triple crown upon AnonEMouse for your contributions in the areas of WP:DYK, WP:GA, and WP:FA. Cirt (talk) 00:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributions to the project (meticulous sourcing, and not article subjects to get up to quality status that easily either), Great work! May you wear the crowns well. Cirt (talk) 00:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is skeptics dictionary a good source  ??[edit]

I have a feeling that the answer is no because it is an electronic source but your opinion would be appreciated. : Albion moonlight (talk) 03:39, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Rfa[edit]

My effort to regain adminship was unsuccessful. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to voice your opinion.--MONGO 05:22, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'll take you up on this offer. CM (talk) 23:03, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A user page[edit]

Mouse would you take a look at this user page? If you look at the history it looks like Thamarih wanted to blank it and some other user reverted it. That seems odd to me. The sock case was closed by you as no evidence. I'm wondering if this user is being harassed, I see no reason to keep this blabber all over his user page. User page isn't a talk page. Can you assist? Thanks. Wjhonson (talk) 08:07, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need your help[edit]

Hey there bud, I wanted to let you know that I just enrolled in the edit review process and was wondering that since we have worked on some stuff together and I had dealt with you when I was doing the editing to the male porn stars section. I was wondering if you would be kind enough to maybe go through some of my edits and contributions and give a chime in on how you view me as an editor and contributor to wikipedia. I am registered right here [1]. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I believe you would see that I had my user name changed from Junebug52 to Canyouhearmenow. It was a little more on the masculine side and people didn't have to wonder if they were dealing with a guy or girl. LOL Canyouhearmenow 20:53, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if you've seen this article, but would you stop by the AfD page Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/SocialPicks to offer your opinion on whether the article subject is notable? It looks like a couple of admins are campaigning for "delete" votes, so I think it might be good if some other admins take a look at what is going on. Thanks. Please, help me[edit]

Hi

I'm sorry for bothering, but I really need your help. User:Doc glasgow has reverted the Bonanno crime family page that I've written countless times, due to the fact that he/she means that there are no sources confirming the information I've written on the crime family's bosses and caporegimes, however, I have given up my sources from where I got the information, both from Jerry Capeci's Gangland, as well as the New York Times and the Federal Burea of Investigation news pages on organized crime. Although letting him/her know about this, User:Doc glasgow has not only reverted the Bonanno crime family page, making it seem undone, but also made abusive threats about blocking me from Wikipedia, when really it should be User:Doc glasgow who should be blocked. This person can not be reasoned with, as he/she has been reverting both the Bonanno crime family page, as well as the Colombo crime family page, in addition, the person can not be reasoned with. Please, I need your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charlir91 (talkcontribs) 14:18, April 1, 2008

Please![edit]

I'm sorry for bothering, but User:Doc glasgow has repeatedly given me abusve threats of blocking me from Wikipedia, when he has completely disregarded all the sources I've given up at the Bonanno crime family page, as well as at the Frank Papagni page. Please, I really, really, really need your help!!

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Donna-Rice-Hughes-5.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 03:01, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:The_Stewardesses.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The_Stewardesses.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 03:05, 7 April 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Image:Evil_Breed_The_Legend_of_Samhain.jpg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Evil_Breed_The_Legend_of_Samhain.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Kelly hi! 04:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Zombie Strippers[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Zombie Strippers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Zombie Strippers. Torchwood Who? This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Briana Loves Jenna.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. A tag has been placed on Image:PaigeSummersPent199801.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Family Guy Jenna Jameson.PNG[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Family Guy Jenna Jameson.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 19:53, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Alessandra Mussolini.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alessandra Mussolini.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Carol Shaya Playboy August 1994.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Carol Shaya Playboy August 1994.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hi, Stifle. You wrote the following on my talk page:

Since that image had one of those templates at the time you wrote that, giving great detail as to why the rationale was met, I have no clue what you're on about. Please don't use boilerplate that doesn't say what you mean. I gather you want the image deleted; if so, please say why. I'd also appreciate, as a personal favor, if you not rush, since I haven't been not very active for almost a year now, and it might take me some time to hold up my end of the discussion, though I will do my best. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:18, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The rationale you added to that page did not include a purpose of use, which is a requirement. (This is the version I tagged. Another user has subsequently added the purpose correctly, so there is nothing else for you to do. Stifle (talk) 21:04, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I did that. Sure wish they could make a bot that would fix these descriptions for perfectly good images, instead of tagging them for deletion. Because many perfectly good images get deleted that way... And good to see you, Mouse. Dekkappai (talk) 21:07, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hm. The template added 11:18, November 14, 2008 by Sfan00 IMG didn't have a purpose of use field. However the rationale I added at the time I uploaded the image distinctly said "The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article section dealing with this video", which seems to be a fine purpose of use. So it seems that by adding the template Sfan actually made the image more likely to be deleted by someone, such as yourself, not less. Surely there is something wrong here. Oh well, thanks to Dekkappai, it's not an issue any more. Thanks, Dek. Good to see you too. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 21:29, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi AnonEMouse -- I know you don't stop by Wikipedia as much as you used to, but on the off-chance you do look in during the next 7 days, this image was nominated for deletion & you may want to offer your opinion. Otherwise, I opposed the nomination & quoted the comments you made a year & ahalf ago that this image was not easily replaceable. Even if you see this notice too late (or no longer care), still I feel it's the civil thing to keep you informed. -- llywrch (talk) 18:53, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You may remember me from when you helped with the Alice Bailey article, and may not be happy about another request from me to help with an RfC for a very controversial and very disputed article. You can see the RfC here. I am asking you because the administrator who initiated the RfC in response to a complaint to OTRS, has not participated, and some impartial administrative guidance might prove very helpful. I hope you have been well. (Once Kwork) Malcolm Schosha (talk) 23:54, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looking more closely, as I should have in the first place, is seems that you are back only infrequently, and I am sure you would not want to get involved in an article that is so disputed.

Happy New Year![edit]

A noiseless patient spider,
I mark'd where on a little promontory it stood isolated,
Mark'd how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,
It launch'd forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself,
Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.

And you O my soul where you stand,
Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space,
Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to connect them,
Till the bridge you will need be form'd, till the ductile anchor hold,
Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O my soul."

The article International Escort Awards has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails the GNG; no independent significant coverage, just puffery from sites associated with the ward's (non-notable) sponsors, self-published sites, and the occasional brief news-of-the-weird type story.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Need Your Help[edit]

Hi, AnonEMouse. I need your help for one of Pornographic actor's article Ramon Nomar, i created this article as stub and now it has been declared as nominee for deletion, reason was given that it doesn't fulfill the criteria of WP:GNG and WP:PORNBIO. This article was made to represent the significance of Venezuelan pornographic actors (none of them have any article on wikipedia). I need your help in this matter, you are pretty experienced and can watch it properly, i think notability criteria should not be bounded to the count of number of Awards, it must reveal the significance of particular ethnic/geographic group/region. Hope you'll observe & support this. Bill william compton (talk) 21:09, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Interview with Wikimedia Foundation[edit]

Hi AnonEMouse, My name is Matthew Roth and I'm a Storyteller working on the 2011 fundraiser with the Wikimedia Foundation in San Francisco. I know you are inactive, but I'm curious if you would want to talk with me about some historical editing work you've done. It wouldn't necessarily be for the fundraiser, but I'm very curious to get your take on a number of aspects of the project? I was particularly intrigued by the work you did to bring Jenna Jameson up to FA status. I think it's remarkable that on WP you can have excellent prose and material on anyone from nobel laureates to adult film actors. The interviews usually last 60 minutes and involve a number of questions about your personal editing experiences, as well as general questions about Wikipedia and its impact in the world. Please let me know your thoughts by emailing mroth (at) wikimedia.org. Thanks! Matthew (WMF) 18:15, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted[edit]

I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.

This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.

We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!

I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.

Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 00:47, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of change[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Issue with a copyrighted image[edit]

Hi,

You seem to be an authority on biographies, and an admin, according to WP:WPBIO. I'm having some issues right now with a user deleting an image I added to the article for Viktor Tsoi, a deceased Russian rock musician. The user, Hullaballoo Wolfowitz, claims that

  1. The image fails NFCC#1 (which it does not, as there are no other free photos of the singer with his family, and the singer, as well as his wife, are dead)
  2. The image fails NFCC#8
  3. I don't need a non-free image of the article subject's family to convey the fact of its existence
  4. The image use rationale is patently invalid

I was wondering, seeing as you are a person with actual authority and proven knowledge on the subject of biographies, if you could take a look at the Viktor Tsoi page and figure out which one of us is in the right, and what I can do to improve the image's fair use rationale. Or, if you're not the right person to ask, then I hope you can point me in the right direction.

Thank you for your time, AndreyKva (talk) 22:01, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
