St. Anger Revision

Is there a reason you reverted my edit? Jason Newsted performed bass on ...And Justice For All. Do I need to cite a source stating that? =|

St. Anger was the first album since Puppets without Jason on it. Master of Puppets was Cliff Burton's last album(meaning Jason was not in the band at the time, therefore he didn't perform bass on it), and Justice was Jason's first(he was in the band at the time, and was credited as playing on that album; in other words, he PLAYED on Justice). If you need further explanation, or some links where you can learn about Metallica, just let me know and I'll provide some. SlayerBloodySlayer (talk) 21:20, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your spontaneous help while I was unable to edit during those days. I do not know how long I'm going to be editing, because I am a bit annoyed because it was half-blocked in a very strange situation. From now on I just started to edit, I am no longer with the same excitement to use Wikipedia knowing that in any situation will be blocked without having anything to do with servers or open proxies. GNR Albums

Hey mate. I am asking you this question because you are a member of Guns N' Roses WikiProject. I have recently got into GNR and must say they are one of the best bands I have ever heard. Before I never really listened to hard rock, just British "rock" (from 1960s to present though). However I thought I would give Appetite For Destruction a try and made a promise that I would listen to the album a few times over my 10 day holiday in Malaga. Amazing! The album just sucked me in and I couldn't stop playing it. My MP3 player needed to be charged several times because I would listen to that album! It's weird because at first I liked the singles and nothing else, then I got into Rocket Queen, then Mr Brownstone etc etc and it all clicked. The last song I got into was You're Crazy but I now think that's fantastic as well. I have listened to some fantastic albums at this is now firmly rooted in my top 10. Since then I have downloaded Use Your Illusion I and II and am slowly (much more slowly than AFD) getting into them.

Anyway.... my question is according to Wikipedia "GNR Lies" is an EP, not an album. However Wikipedia also says that Use Your Illusion is GNR's third album and UYI II is GNR's fourth album. That surely is not right?

  • Is it 1. Appetite, 2. Lies, 3. Illusion One, 4. Illusion Two.
  • Or 1. Appetite, 2. Illusion One, 3. Illusion Two. With Lies not an album.

Thanks you. Poiuytre (talk) 20:20, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello, my old friend

Do you remember Dark Executioner? I'm back on Wikipedia now! Just wanted to say hey and catch up with anything I missed while I was in boot camp. If I don't respond right away, just know that I will get back to you. My schedule in the Navy is just so unpredictable at times.

I had a lot of fun catching back up on the metal world, dude! I got the new albums by Slipknot, Head and Kingdom of Sorrow, I've heard Metallica's new album, and I'm eagerly awaiting Cynic's, Alice in Chains', and Slayer's new albums.

So yeah, let me know if there's any band page that could use some attention. Talk to you soon man, Dark Executioner (talk) 21:00, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey man, it's me again. It looks like you've been more into alternative music than metal lately. That's cool, there's some really good alt bands out there (most of whom are broken up now unfortunately, like Soundgarden). Why the change to mostly alternative?

Hey! Its been a long time

Hey, haven't seen you active in a while! St. Anger looks great; generally there isn't a need to add references in the infobox since it makes it cramped and stuff, that's why I removed it. Anyway, shouldn't that genre be "Thrash metal" in the first place? indopug (talk) 15:19, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I haven't heard it. Believe it or not I never really got into Metallica, but that's slowly changing though; I've recently the rediscovered brilliance of heavy metal, and maybe I'll give Metallica another try. As for an FA push, I'd say a "Music" section is pretty much mandatory; for a good model article you can see is In Utero, which is at FAC. indopug (talk) 16:02, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Whether it be Priest or Maiden, you gotta admit--Sabbath are the best. By the way, the Death Magnetic section of Metallica is far too long; somebody should get down to cutting it to size, since its an FA and everything (just thinking out loud). indopug (talk) 15:18, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Proposed deletion of Greg Handevidt

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Greg Handevidt, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No individual notablity established per Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Erzsébet Báthory(talk|contr.) 01:02, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

The above notice probably doesn't concern you, as you just created the page with a redirect. Erzsébet Báthory(talk|contr.) 01:04, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

I have nominated Greg Handevidt, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greg Handevidt. Alice in Chains discography

hello,

Actually I want to nominate this for FLRC, but I give you a chance :). The reason why: The music videos are not sourced! Please find sources, e.g. MTV, and put refs. This list is very near to be nominated. Thank you.-- ♫Greatorangepumpkin♫ T 12:50, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of March. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 50. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. On behalf of my co-coordinator Wizardman, we hope we can see you in March. MuZemike delivered by MuZebot 00:33, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
