Good stuff, cheers. I suspect it was related to the Nazis' anti-communism, and their rebranding a 'Worker's Sports Club' could be seen as one method of limiting the potential for local class conflict, but I can't find a source to confirm this. This article on "German Worker's Soccer" [1] claims 7000 worker's sports clubs were banned in Germany soon after the Nazis came into power. The colours I'm less sure about. That is an interesting source. As it refers to all workers' sports clubs, I think it would be okay to use it as a source for the reason of the renaming. No need to apologise, your point was ultimately correct in that there is no source to confirm the renaming was forced on the club - their board may have elected to make the change proactively, perhaps anticipating that a similar ban may soon be implemented in Austria. The reliability of the above artice is also questionable, so I think ALT2 is the best solution. Appreciate your time on this. Deserter1 08:17, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Player notability and professional leagues

Hi, you raised some interesting points at FPL and I have made a post at that talk page. I note you have added the Scottish lower leagues to both FPL and the draft Player Notability page. It may be easiest to remove from the latter for now to decrease the possibility of different versions of the league lists occurring. It could be worth waiting a while to see what may happen at FPL. Hey Deserter .. on this topic again, the last line of the article says that "there are no restrictions on players that wish to switch national associations at youth level. Alex Zahavi has represented the Israel under-21s, the United States under-20s, the Portugal under-19s, the Portugal under-18s and the Portugal under-17s." However, I don't think that the statement is true. If a player plays in official competition then he can only switch allegiances once. The reason Zahavi was able to play for 3 countries was because that he represented Portugal in official competition but did not represent the US in official competition (and did not for Israel either .. still making him eligible for either Portugal, US or Israel). So technically speaking, he hasn't switched national associations yet, he's just playing in non-official matches. I hope you got my point. Cheers. TonyStarks (talk) 06:31, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized).
