Why? How can you judge significance?

I posted a new article about an Atlanta singer/songwriter that I feel is worthy of being on wikipedia. I happened to be somewhere that she was performing and was blown away. She is very talented and has appeared on MTV. Are other people who have appeared on MTV on wikipedia? Re: deletion

Taint normally refers to where it's being used where a special character may be unsafe (not the case here), and it won't be putting anything in the deletion reason that wouldn't be present if the script weren't being used. It's setting the value, not innerHTML, so html tags, quote marks, etc, won't have any effect. As for putting stuff in the deletion reason - well, {{db|subject is an arsehole}} probably won't result in an admin clicking the delete tab anyway - but the intention here is to _reduce_, not eliminate, the chance of article content [other than deletion tags] ending up in the deletion log summary. Can you clarify which possibility was your concern?—Random832 19:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I am trying to get the stuff together to finish putting the page together, but if you people carry on deleting it I can't finish making it! what the heck are you guys doing? Yeah I am used to them, sadly though my laptop went on the crapper so I had to send it in to be fixed, so that has left me only able to use my school's computers for most of the day, which means I am only using my public account. I think you've deleted my band's page

Hi, I really think my band, Mens Rea, means something to people, so I think we do deserve a wikipedia page, at least as "Mens Rea Band". It was for a reason that I didn't edit "Mens Rea", but reather opened a new page for Mens Rea Band, as the latin term that was the inspiration for the band's name is, for the moment, more known to public than our band. I've put a lot of effort in writing the article and editing it (Till I couldn't do it anymore sisnce it was deleted), so I'd like to know why it was deleted, and to ask you to please let us have a value here

Deletion of Silver Diamond Entertainment

Dear Administrator Gogo Dodo,

I have reviewed your reccomendations for deletion of my recent article. I notice that it has also been deleted. Please point out to me clearly what product I was advertising and what exactly was I trying to promote? The article clearly holds significance because it is a compnay started up by an African American who moved his operations to another country. As a result those actions have made grounds for a positive form of cultural exchange. Please also note the extreme bias in article:Crystal Kay as well as article:zeebra

Clearly for whatever reason the biased writer or editors of those articles was not tagged. However, in article: Crystal Kay, the only external link is to the subjects official website. If you use an edit summary explaining your change, the chances of it being reverted are less. Sorry to disturb - I'm having some trouble with IP 69.157.51.121 and I think it may be our friend from the Trenton, Ontario article. He seems to be resorting to harassment on my talk page and on an article I started last spring (Whitby Public Library) - the issues were resolved a long time ago, but he's trying to dredge them up again. Central Asian Shepherd Dog

Thank you ! I did invite breed experts from Russia as well as from countries of breed origin to overview and correct the article if needed.

However, they are not familiar with Wikipedia as far as I understand; may take time. I am new to Wikipedia myself :) I will also provide more supporting links.

The person attempting to edit the article has a long history of cyber stalking, and I addressed the issue to

Josh Costell

Hello. I am hoping you can help me with the deletion of article Josh Costell. He is an up and coming actor and the greater Toledo area is very proud of him and we are all very interested in his future. In the past few months alone he has been making music videos and feature films and is currently in LA working on another project. He is listed on imdb.com and has been in local newspapers, news casts as well as on the cover of a magazine. I understand that you delete biographies but some of us Toledoans appreciate the ability to go onto wikipedia to read about what he is currently doing. Other actors from our area are also on this site including alyson stoner, adrian palicki, johnathan bennet, among others. I would like to request his page to be reposted. Hello. I just left you a previous message reguarding Josh Costell. After looking around I discovered that a single user (Sdowney83) has made it their personal mission to delete this article. I don't know if this is a personal revenge against the young actor but I do not undestand how one person can disrupt something that many Toledoans including my family, friends, and co-workers use to keep up with Josh Costell and other actors from our area. In reading the persons messages and information from administration it is clear that this is a personal mission from a single user to remove Josh Costell from wikipedia. I will copy and paste below. josh costell

I completely agree with Davinci2008. I also like to visit wiki to stay informed on actors that have originated from my hometown of Toledo. It has become one of our company's "water cooler" traditions. I was upset to see Josh Costell's page was removed. I have investigated and was able to discover that SDowney83, a young male from Toledo, Ohio, who attended Waite High School (a rival school of the one Josh Costell attended) who does appear to have made it his purpose to get that one specific page removed for his own personal reasons. No a range block was not implemented (Im guessing you're referring to the 205.189.16.0/20 range). Even if one was, it really wouldn't be that long, as something like 5000 users could be affected. The individual IPs were blocked, and if they come back then a range block will be in order. Help

I am requesting assitance from you reguarding edits of another user. This is not vandalism, and yes, I have searched for a warning template. The user Sinepreltih keeps adding controversial information to the page Rock Lobster, even though said infromation is under discussion in reguards to its addition to said article. Every time me and another user have asked him on his talk page to stop adding said information until the discussion is resolved, he has deleted our comments, either labling them as vandalism or BS. If you look at his talk page history, you will see what I mean. He has also come onto my talk page telling me to F off. I have not removed said comment to keep it there incase I may need it later. Declined AIV of "Jerk, Beefy!"

I reported User:"Jerk, Beefy!" for a long history of vandalism but you declined to block because they have "no recent edits". There was an edit about 5 hours before I reported them, which is what prompted me to look at their edit history. Please take another look, because this user has been making sly and destructive edits that have eluded detection for too long. An example I found today was adding a seemingly innocuous edit to Julian Barnes here which included the assertion that a book was being simultaneously published in Romanian, but including the Bulgarian title. I only noticed this because an IP editor, presumably Romanian, took offense to this in the article space. Other examples include adding a list of (probably) legimate beers to a brewer's article, but adding a hoax "Beefy Bitter" here and then adding it to related articles. Please reconsider blocking. Dust

I noticed that you removed the external link I left. I am new to this, so maybe their was a better place to list the link. I put the link at that point because their is a lot of confussion on the use of dust control methods and thought that a link to a company in that business would be informative without adding a lot of technical informational that is already elsewhere. Water is the most common use, but per the Ohio EPA and the Federal EPA the use of water is not recommened as it causes more erosion problems. Based on my usage of Wikipedia and that of others I know of as a research site and the new EPA rules I thought the link would be helpful for those looking for more information on what to use or what they could do about a dust problem. Solomon Marcus Schiller-Szinessy

Hi,

I am the great-great-great-grand-daughter of the above, his name was Solomon Marcus Schiller-Szinessy and not Mayer, would you please change the Solomon Marcus page to Solomon Marcus? I haven't been able to. It's also written wrong in the link that is shown in the jewish encyclopedia, otherwise it's correct in all other places like Cambridge just google it.

As proof about his real name, I have also uploaded on the Solomon Mayer Schiller-Szinessy Site a copy of his certified death certificate from Cambridge where you can see his real name as beeing Solomon Marcus, please also delete this certificate picture, after having changed the name correctly. that was quick, thanks for answering. Ok I will write to the other people this afternoon, I have many more certificates of him, and saw this article yesterday by chance and the name Mayer is deffinitely nonsense and makes no sense since the family name is Schiller-Szinessy and Mayer is a family name on his own as well, Marcus was his second surname (I don't know if this is the right word for i, somebody maybe americans who sometimes have last names as surnames might have confused it, but that was definitely a no go in last centuries Europe.

It's ok you deleted the other article,I just wanted to show the true biography, and I know my family history, and don't want it to be turned wrong, even after so many years.

In Cambridge Trinity College they are having his correct names too.

I will do as you propose and am happy to have a link where they might be able to help, I can also send scanned pics of my other documents from my ancestry to prove his correct name, I owe it to him for some reason.

Article Deleted

I don't know if this is where we ask questions; so let me know if this is not the place and please direct me to where else I should go. I saw that the article on Real Life Ministries was deleted. I would like to know why. I had added verifiable information and in parentheses stated where the information can be found. Someone else was deleting whole paragraphs that were verifiable, then it was deleted entirely. Please let me know how it can be written in a way that it can stay on Wikipedia. The admin who did the original deletion, DGG, has restored the article without the POV edits so you should not need to recreate the article. You are welcome to contribute to it.
