Miss Earth Singapore is the most relevant and worthwhile beauty event in the world, setting a legacy of beauty and responsibility in Singapore. The pageant will be selecting the official candidate for the Miss Earth pageant.

History

Miss Earth Singapore, which is a beauty pageant with a cause and responsibility, is driven by an ultimate aim to enhance our awareness and sustainable development on the environmental crisis and challenges we are facing. It is part of an annual global search for Miss Earth (www.missearth.tv) which gathers delegates from over 90 countries all around the world to promote worthwhile environmental causes and active involvement in caring for and preserving the earth.[2]

Since 2001, the concept of Miss Earth has displayed positive results and gained worldwide recognition as one of the Top 3 beauty pageants in the world, in line with Miss Universe and Miss World contests in terms of the number of national level competitions to participate in the world finals. The reigning titleholders dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and to address issues concerning the environment. It is the only pageant, recognized as one, that is more than just glitz and glamour, epitomizing beauty with a meaningful cause.

CT Hansen International Pte Ltd initiated the Miss Earth Singapore's "Green & Glamour" campaign in 2005. The aim is to mobilize young and vibrant green ambassadors to become trendsetters and spokespersons in raising awareness on the current environmental crises we are facing.

This initiative runs a 12-month intensive environmental campaign annually, which allows the Miss Earth Singapore contestants to be Green Ambassadors. The Miss Earth Singapore initiative seeks to broaden its environmental outreach by roping in the help of the public to participate in conserving our natural resources through fun, engaging and educational activities that will be fronted by the Miss Earth Singapore Green Ambassadors.

To date, ambassadors from Miss Earth Singapore have participated and fronted numerous eco-campaigns ranging from corporate eco-awareness talks, eco-fashion shows, product launches to international environmental campaigns.

Purposes

Miss Earth Singapore promoted:

To build a public image for our target group to become trendsetters and spokespersons in relation to environmental protection campaigns.

To enhance the communication with young people on how to be personally responsible in protecting their environment; making it a day to day task.
