Plot

The Dungeon - A mysterious place where adventurers seek out fame, fortune, or if not careful, a painful death. Monsters and traps are everywhere, as members of the Familias led by a god or goddess who gives their blessings to their followers, explore them. For Bell Cranel, a 14 year old adventurer of the smallest group (1), he has bigger plans: To pick up a girl.

Terminology

The Dungeon - A place in Orario where monsters and traps reside. There are many rumors and legends about the place as it is older than the gods and goddesses who reside in Orario. The floors become larger and the monsters more powerful the farther down you descend. No one knows how deep it goes.

A new adventurer needs to be a member of a familia before they can join the Guild and enter the Dungeon.

Characters

Hestia Familia

Bell Cranel (ベル・クラネル, Beru Kuraneru)
Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
A Level 1 adventurer of the Dungeon and the only child of the Hestia Familia. He is unique with his white hair and red eyes and has the nickname of "Rabbit" He is a solo adventurer and skilled in using double dagger combat. He also possesses a unique skill, Realis Phrase (憧憬一途(リアリス・フレーゼ), Dōkei Ichizu (Riarizu Furēzu)), which accelerates his growth as long as his feelings do not waver. The increase in growth corresponds to the strength of his feelings. His dream is to have a chance encounter with a girl.
Hestia (ヘスティア, Hesutia)
Voiced by: Inori Minase[2]
Hestia is in charge of taking care of Bell's development as an adventurer. As a poor Familia, they currently reside in a room under an abandoned church and she works part-time for Guild as a clerk and several food stands to help Bell with day to day living expenses. She is also in love with Bell, even if she cannot bring herself to tell him.

'Hestia Knife A special weapon (knife) crafted by Hephestos as a challenge to give a first level adventurer a quality weapon (Thirty year loan - 420 payments). Using some of Hestia's hair and blood it can only be used properly by someone given Hesita's blessing. It is alive and will grow with its user - and when the user becomes the best, so will it (which Hephestos considers bad for business).

Loki Familia

Aiz Wallenstein (アイズ・ヴァレンシュタイン, Aizu Varenshutain)
Voiced by: Saori Ōnishi[2]
A girl of the Loki Familia and favorite of the goddess Loki. She is one of the few Level 5 adventurers in the city and the only female with the nickname of "Kenki", or Sword Princess. Her skill with a sword is unmatched as she has killed over 1000 monsters. She has blond hair and golden eyes, she is considered one of the most attractive females in the city (rumor has it she has shot down almost as many suitors (male and female) as she has killed monsters). She meets Bell in the Dungeon when she saves him from a Minotaur that escaped from her group and fled to the upper levels the Dungeon. She knows of Bell and has defended him from others who insulted him during the Minotaur incident.
Loki (ロキ, Roki)
Voiced by: Yurika Kubo[2][3]
The goddess of mischief and head of one of the largest familias. A bisexual and shameless flirt, she has set her eyes on Aiz and will destroy anyone who tries to take her away from her. She has been called Loki "No-bits" as despite her looks, she is very flat chested and is jealous of Hestia for her body.
Bete Loga (ベート・ローガ, Bēto Rōga)
Voiced by: Nobuhiko Okamoto[3]
A beastman of the familia. He considers any lower level adventurers trash and treats them in such a manner. He considers himself the only one (besides Loki) worthy of sleeping with Aiz and takes pleasure in insulting Bell (calling him Tomato Boy after the Minotaur incident).

Soma Familia

Liliruka "Lilly" Aade (リリルカ・アーデ, Ririruka Āde)
Voiced by: Maaya Uchida[2]
A young girl of the Soma Familia. She is a supporter, a person who goes with adventurers and helps transport the magic gems and "drop items" that are collected from defeated monsters (Like Nodwick, without the threats of painful demise). She goads Bell into pairing up with her and he has a lucky streak during their partnership.

Freya Familia

Freya (フレイヤ, Fureiya)
Voiced by: Yōko Hikasa
The Goddess of Beauty. She has fallen for Bell and senses his great potential.

Guild

Eina Chūru (エイナ・チュール)
Voiced by: Haruka Tomatsu[4]
A half elf girl who is Bell's Guild adviser. She cares for Bell like an older sister and is always happy when he returns from the Dungeon.

The Benevolent Mistress

The Benevolent Mistress (豊饒の女主人, hōjō no onna shujin) is well known pub and eating establishment. Staffed only by ladies, adventurers go to rest and relax.

Mia Grand (ミア・グランド, Mia Gurando)
Voiced by: Yuka Keichō
A tall dwarf female who made her fortune in the Dungeon and retired to open up the pub. Known throughout the city as a fair employer she hires only ladies no matter their circumstance. She is well known for several rules in her establishment, treats her ladies with respect (who call her Mama (母ちゃん, Kaa-chan)), no drunken outbursts, and no dine and dash (last one who did she personally tracked down and convinced him to pay up). She has a soft spot for Bell as Syr likes him.
Syr Flover (シル・フローヴァ, Shiru Furōvua)
Voiced by: Shizuka Ishigami[4]
A waitress of the Benevolent Mistress Bell meets one day on his way to the Dungeon. She has a crush on Bell.
Ryū Lion (リュー・リオン, Ryū Rion)
Voiced by: Saori Hayami[3]
An elf waitress of the Benevolent Mistress.
Anya Flomer (アーニャ・フローメル, Ānya Furōmeru)
Voiced by: Asuka Nishi[5]
Kuroe Roro (クロエ・ロロ)
Voiced by: Aya Suzaki[5]

Other characters

Hephaestus (ヘファイストス, Hefaisutosu)
Voiced by: Yuka Terasaki
Also spelt as Hephaistos. The Lord of the Forge. This goddess' family is the largest arms and armour producer in the city. Her reputation as a master is second to none. She is the friend of Hestia and is even willing to make a special weapon for Bell (not for free of course).
Ganesha (ガネーシャ, Ganēsha)
Voiced by: Hiroshi Tsuchida
God of the Masses. He is the unofficial head of the city and works most with the Guild. He organizes many of the city festivals like "Monsterphilia" and provides the creatures for the thrill of the crowds.
Miach (ミアハ, Miaha)
Voiced by: Makoto Furukawa

Another "bottom of the barrel" familia. His family is well known for the healing potions and other herbal remedies that many adventurers and citizens use on a daily basis.
