On the way of Maizbhandari, Gausul Azam Hazrat Syed Ahmed Ullah Maizbhandari assigned Khalifa to spreading the Maizbhandari Sufism all over the continent. Khalifa is also considered as a spiritual master who is assigned or appointed for Sufism practicing.There are hundreds more Khalifas from different places, appointed for maizbhandari Sufism teaching. Tarika-e-Maizbhandari is a Sufi sect based in Chittagong District of Bangladesh.[1]

History

Maizbhandari Tariqa or Maizbhandari Sufi Order is a liberated Sufism order established in Bangladesh in the 19th century by Gausul Azam Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari. (1826 AD − 1906 AD) 27th descendant of holy Prophet Hazrat Ahmad Mustaba Muhammad Mustafa.[2] Syed Ahmed Ullah Maizbhandari spent his childhood in his native Chittagong. After finishing his secondary education, he was admitted to Calcutta Alia Madrasha (the Aliah University) of greater India for his higher studies in Islamic religion and philosophy.
