The 2023–24 I-League (also known as the Hero I-League for sponsorship reasons) will be the 17th season of the I-League, second as the second tier of Indian football league system.[1]

- ^ Bunkerhill have been given one month to inform AIFF on their shareholding in Mohammedan SC (MSC). If they continue with MSC, their bid will stand withdrawn.[13]
Rules
Registered foreign players have been reduced to five in the squad and three in starting line-up. The mandatory quota for an Asian player has also been removed.[14][15]
Teams
16 teams will compete in this edition of the I-League: Nine teams from the previous year, two teams promoted from the 2022–23 I-League 2, and five teams with direct entry.[16][10]
