Template:Future railway station Broadway-City Hall Station is a proposed rapid transit station on the Canada Line in Vancouver, Canada. The station is due to open when the Canada Line opens, in 2009. This station will be the only underground station on the Canada Line with a large double height volume over the platform area.

Location

Vancouver City Hall.

The station is to be located at the intersection of Cambie Street and West Broadway. The station entrance is planned to be located at the southeast corner of the intersection. Broadway-City Hall Station will serve a number of nearby landmarks, Vancouver City Hall, City Square Mall, the Vancouver General Hospital and related facilities, as well as surrounding Fairview and Mount Pleasant neighbourhoods. It will be the Canada Line's connection to the 99 B-Line

Services

The station will be served by a number of bus routes, including the #9 trolleybus route providing east-west local service along Broadway, the #15 serving Cambie Street, #17 trolleybus route serving Oak Street, and the 99 B-Line operating east to Broadway and Commercial Drive Stations and west to the University of British Columbia (UBC).

If the Millennium Line is extended from its current terminus at VCC-Clark Station west to Arbutus Street or UBC (unlikely prior to 2009), this station will become a transfer point to the new service (a "knock-out" panel will be installed on the station's mezzanine level to provide a cross connection to the Millennium Line station (either under 10th Ave. or under Broadway)).

The Crossroads development on the northwest corner of Broadway and Cambie has been required by the City of Vancouver to provide space for an entrance to the Broadway-City Hall Station. No funding exists to build this connection and it may be years before it is built.
