{{helpme}}

Hello,

I created the wiki Consep page - but this has been deleted.

I would like to enter some kind of discussion about this, to understand why it is being deleted.

Looking at wiki guidelines, the page seems relevant to me - the organisation is a Social Enterprise, and free open-source publisher in this sector. consepconsulting.com

Furthemore, other, more commercial organisations have wiki pages that remain - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Sustainability_Consulting -

I would appreciate your help with this.

Many thanks,

M

Please read before editing:

  1. Please add new comments to the bottom of the page. You can use the "new section" button above to start a new topic.
  2. In general, I will respond here to comments, rather than on your talk page, so that the conversation isn't scattered.
  3. If you want to know why I blocked an IP address, you have to let me know what IP address you are referring to.
  4. If you want to know why I deleted an article, you have to let me know what article you are referring to.

Moving chem articles

You probably want to move 1-testosterone to fix the name as well. Apparently you have to be and admin to do that, so I couldn't do it.

Also should 7α-methyl-19-nortestosterone have capital M? I was planning to start an article about it. Xasodfuih (talk) 17:12, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

OK, I have moved the 1-testosterone article. And, yes, the title of the other article is best as 7α-Methyl-19-nortestosterone. Thanks for creating those articles! -- Ed (Edgar181) 17:19, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

War Against Islam

Could you provide us with a little information on the weasel words, etc. that earned the article this tag? {{Articleissues |restructure=March 2008 |synthesis=January 2009 |refimprove=January 2009 |weasel=January 2009 |POV=January 2009}} --BoogaLouie (talk) 20:26, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

I haven't had any involvement in that page except to semi-protect it earlier today due to the disruptive editing of multiple IPs. The template indicating issues with the article was added by User:OttoTheFish, so it's probably best to ask him. -- Ed (Edgar181) 22:41, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Pharmacology: Article categorization

Would you care to participate in this discussion: WT:PHARM:CAT

See also Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Pharmacology#Article categorization and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Pharmacology#Dermatology in need of pharmacologic expertise. Cheers --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 15:04, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

I have left a brief comment there. Thanks for letting me know. -- Ed (Edgar181) 17:52, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
There has been a significant about of discussion on the categorization of pharmacology articles at WT:PHARM:CAT, and, if available, would love your input. kilbad (talk) 00:13, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
I've read through that page and the current proposals seem quite reasonable. But, to be honest, I don't have much interest in the details, so I don't think I have anything more to add to the discussion. Thanks for letting me know though. -- Ed (Edgar181) 11:56, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Acetophenone

I have been messing around on acetophenone (ACP), particular dueling with my own miscues (new keyboard) today. But I wanted to let you know that I reverted your repair of some persistent anonymous editor. The article is in pretty okay shape, the mystery editor insists that ACP is used as a precursor to styrene via hydride reduciton, etc, and lo it turns out that significant amts of styrene are made from ACP, blah, blah, blah. My main message was that things are semi-ok.--Smokefoot (talk) 23:47, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for taking care of it. -- Ed (Edgar181) 01:24, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Note

Hi Edgar. The same (or almost) is true for my case now. --Leyo 19:51, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

You are a good candidate for Commons administrator and I have voiced my support. -- Ed (Edgar181) 20:16, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi

Hello Ed. i received a message from you that I removed content from page Niacin, but I am afraid that is not true . i never even visited this page. Please reverify. Thanks. 209.99.19.8 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.99.19.8 (talk) 22:32, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

I left that message back in 2006 on the talk page for the IP address you are using because someone using that IP did in fact remove content from niacin.[1] You may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other users of that IP address. -- Ed (Edgar181) 00:08, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

School IP

Hi. I see you have blocked my School's IP adress so we can't edit. Probably a good thing seeing as a lot of people here would vandalise pages. BlueGoat (talk) 14:11, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Sundae Morning

Hello Mister Edgar, Can yo send me the stuffs I posted here. It was deleted but I know the reason. I will not post here again with those kinds of messages. I am really sorry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sundae Morning (talkcontribs) 01:17, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

No problem. I just need an email address to send it to. You can click the "E-mail this user" button on the left to send me an email, and I'll reply with the deleted info. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:00, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

User:Pgagnon999 deleted on purpose?

He said he was going on a 1-week wikibreak, so I'm really surprised that you deleted his user page. Perhaps there was an error? hike395 (talk) 08:21, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Pgagnon999 requested that his own user page be deleted by adding the {{db-u1}} template to it. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:42, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
OK, thanks. That's too bad. I hope it wasn't vandalism or account break-in hike395 (talk) 15:35, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
It appears that he has exercised his right to vanish. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:38, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

cutepongki 19:06, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Hey BB I'm cutepongki

Sorry if I'm wrong to do this. I'm a member in RTVG and my wiki was deleted because of it against the rules here about hosting game. You said that I can ask you to send everything back to me but I can't find where to contact you by e-mail. So I ask you here, sorry if i shouldn't do like this but this is the only way I can think of now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.64.44.88 (talk) 19:03, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

If you're logged in, you can click the "E-mail this user" button on the left when you're viewing my user pages. Click it to send me an email, and I'll reply with the deleted info.. Alternately, you can just give me an email address here. -- Ed (Edgar181) 20:05, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism

User talk:24.39.160.64 Perhaps another block on this one is in order? --JimmyButler (talk) 16:35, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, plenty of vandalism from that IP address today. It is now blocked again. -- Ed (Edgar181) 16:42, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for doing those clean-up deletes in my talk space. Much appreciated! Hipocrite (talk) 16:51, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome. -- Ed (Edgar181) 16:51, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

User:Joyful-janner

Hi, thanks for the quick block. Would you look at his contributions and see if he is a sock of the recently blocked socks whose IP page he edited? DuncanHill (talk) 13:12, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome. Without checkuser there is no way to be sure, but it certainly looks like the same editor. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:15, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
I've added him to the RFCU. DuncanHill (talk) 13:27, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
They may not act on it because the user is already blocked, but it's a good idea to have the user listed there for the record. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:20, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Ed. This image needs a chemist admin (see history). Thanks. --Leyo 17:15, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I deleted the local image to let the higher quality version on Commons be displayed instead. -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:47, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi, can you make a diagram for Calcium stearate? Badagnani (talk) 08:29, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

OK, done. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:52, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Kittsee the info murderer

Hello Edgar, My name is Lillian Shields, You just recently deleted a page that was posted by a kittsee. They had the information from my web page all wrong, They vandalized my information, calling it the diniosis disease as i recall it.They lied and I am truely gratefull that you terminated the article! Thanks so much, be carefull of them, they managed to hack into my web page and rewrite the whole thing, just a heads up. Also I was wondering if they posted any other articles that maybe off my former site?

-Lillian Shields —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.116.12.113 (talk) 22:30, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry to hear about your website. All the articles created by User:Kittsee here at Wikipedia were quickly deleted. -- Ed (Edgar181) 00:04, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you very much,I would hate to have people told gibberish! Thank you again! I will come to you if I have anymore issues with Kittsee -Lillian Shields —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lillian Shields (talkcontribs) 00:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

question

here is a question i asked with an edit [2]. mind commenting? thank you. -Shootbamboo (talk) 19:44, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

I think an article on sulfonyl halides would be a good idea. There is already the recently created article sulfonyl chloride, which could be merged into a new sulfonyl halide article.
Done. Can I "mop-up" the effectively merged (but really copied) content by just "clearing" with a redirect? Thanks again. -Shootbamboo (talk) 20:41, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
That seems like the best thing to do, so I've made the redirect. Thanks for creating the article. -- Ed (Edgar181) 21:51, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Vera Ducas

I was suprised that my article on Vera Ducas was so speedly deleted. Perhaps the life and death of one Jewish woman is not of interest. I was hoping to expand the article by including the names of two other Jews and the reports of a further three un-named who where killed by the underground in Palestine/Israel during 1948. Or is this not suitabled for the wikipedia? Padres Hana (talk) 22:02, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

As it stood, the article met criteria for speedy deletion because it lacked an assertion of notability of the subject. However, if you think Vera Ducas meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion outlined at Wikipedia:Notability (people), and you would like to write a more thorough article, please feel free to do so. -- Ed (Edgar181) 01:55, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
I just realized the article I deleted was titled Eva Ducas, not Vera Ducas. Are we talking about the same article? -- Ed (Edgar181) 01:58, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

208.68.153.177

It looks like you performed the most recent block of this school IP. That was back in April. Every month since, except for July-August, 208.68.153.177's talk page has at least one complaint or warning about its vandalism. The warnings look rather silly when they don't lead to any action for well over half a year. Time for a new (and longer!) block? Thanks, - Hordaland (talk) 00:16, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

It looks like every edit for the last six months from that IP address has been vandalism, so I have re-blocked. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:36, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! - Hordaland (talk) 16:26, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Williamson Tea

it looks like you have been regularly deleting the above refferenced despite the efforts that i have made to make it as legal as possible. I am a student attatched to the company and as an effort to fill in the information gap i did create the above. please inform me what considerations were violated prior to the last deletion user: shadychiri —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shadychiri (talkcontribs) 15:41, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Williamson Tea was deleted by Alexf (talk · contribs). You should talk to him about his reasons for deletion. I only deleted Williams tea (different capitalization), which was simply a useless redirect to the already deleted article. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:47, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Stibophen

Just a quick note, per this edit -- I don't think the Drugbox supports antimony. (But as always, I very much appreciate all the work you do on the drug pages.) --Arcadian (talk) 18:36, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for catching that. I didn't realize the drugbox couldn't handle it. I'll have to try to remember if I have made that type of change in other drugs containing unusual elements. (And I appreciate the work you do in creating the pages in the first place.) -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:42, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

IP indef block

Hey there - I noticed you blocked 70.107.45.254 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) indefinitely. While racist vandalism such as that may deserve a block without warning, per Wikipedia:Blocking IP addresses, IP addresses should almost never be indefinitely blocked. From my understanding consensus is that this means something like a WP:OFFICE or OTRS action. Personally, I rarely treat that type of vandalism differently in terms of block lengths, and would have only given 24 hours as the IP has never being blocked previously, although I can understand a longer block. Do you have a problem with unblocking and/or reblocking for a set period of time? Thanks, VegaDark (talk) 06:43, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

For racist vandalism, I generally don't wait for warnings before blocking; but, wow, I have no idea why that wasn't a 24 hour block. All I can say is that it was inadvertent - I have never intentionally blocked an IP address indef. I have unblocked the address now. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. -- Ed (Edgar181) 11:39, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, and FYI, there's another indef IP block under your name at Wikipedia:Database reports/Indefinitely-blocked IPs in case you wanted to deal with that one as well. VegaDark (talk) 17:14, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

New article deletion

I just began a new article about a group of several hundred folks doing good work in Yellowstone Park, Yellowstone Loons, and you deleted for no apparent reason. Kind of hair-triggerish of you to delete something before it has a chance to be developed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kgbj69 (talkcontribs) 00:22, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

As it stood, the article Yellowstone loon met criteria for speedy deletion because it lacked any assertion of notability of the subject. However, if you think Yellowstone Loons meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion outlined at WP:ORG, and you would like to write a more thorough article, please feel free to do so. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:18, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

question?

Can you explain, from one PhD to another why you deleted the "Yellowstone Loon" entry? That makes no sense at all, it is a prevelent group that can add to the conversation on Wiki...and you just arbitrarily delete it because it is not important to you, talk about ego! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.160.6.186 (talk) 23:58, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Question

Hey Edgar181, I was wondering if you and any other Wikipedia Administrators get paid / make a living off editing for Wikipedia. It seems that you guys (or girls for that matter) have a lot of time on your hands to edit Wikipedia and was wondering if you get compensation for that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.235.174.147 (talk) 14:07, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

talk page response

Oops, I look like an idiot! I'm using a different computer so it hasn't logged me into my account, hence I saw the title page in red and presumed it was blocked. Thanks for getting back to me though. 90.215.234.18 (talk) 17:59, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

No problem. -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:00, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

This may be of interest

Hello. Since you deleted Brothsux's article on Perfection (tv series) we have moved the article onto Uncyclopedia where they actually like the idea. You are now a character on the show! I know it is childish but we like the idea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by McStargirl (talkcontribs) 21:02, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

I agree, it is childish, but I find it amusing and uncyclopedia is just the place for that kind of thing. Calling Edgar181 a "baddie" just isn't good enough though. ;) -- Ed (Edgar181) 00:21, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Question on protocol

Hi Ed,

I represent ActiveCause. We help nonprofits raise money. We are currently assisting 70 organizations raise money through corporate partnerships. One of our staff members apparently created a page early last year which was deleted due to guidelines. I have no knowledge of what that article looked like. But we would like to create a new article that follows appropriate guidelines.

My question is - do we recreate a new article or send it to you for review first? I wanted to verify with you before I invest the time. We have plenty of objective 3rd party/ verifiable sources that we will include. Thanks for your time.

Craig

CraigNYC (talk) 22:20, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

You can look at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and see if you think your organization meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. To create the article, you do not need anyone's prior approval or review first. Just keep in mind that if any editor feels the organization does not meet inclusion criteria, they may nominate it for deletion. Alternately, you may also create a draft of the article on a user subpage (see Wikipedia:Subpages), and then ask me or any other editor to take a look and see what they think. It can then be moved to a proper article title at a later time. Finally, you may want to take a look at Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines first, though. I hope this helps. -- Ed (Edgar181) 22:31, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Craig CraigNYC (talk) 23:22, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

UAA concern

I knew you were a regular there, so can you review 'TheChangeGroup' at the bottom of the page? I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. Ceran//forge 01:54, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

I've left a comment there. The username is clearly promotional, so if he does not request a username change and continues to edit the article about his company, I will probably temporarily block until he is willing to change the username. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:28, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Page move for Talk:Rangsit Prayurasakdi

Hi. I recently tagged Talk:Rangsit Prayurasakdi for speedy deletion, which you've done, but I've lost track of the previous redirect target to be moved into its place. Could you check the deleted page's history for the specified page and perform the move? Thank you. --Paul_012 (talk) 08:36, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

The talk page to be moved was Talk:Prince Rangsit Prayurasakdi of Siam, Prince of Chainat. I've completed the move (I think). Can you please check that everything looks right to you now? -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:01, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes, that's fine. thanks a lot. --Paul_012 (talk) 13:58, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Pharmacology article categorization

I have posted a new draft and would appreciate some feedback if you are available. kilbad (talk) 22:07, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

I have left a couple of comments there. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:19, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
