This is a list of Catholic Seminaries in the world, including those that have been closed. As of the Annuario Pontificio 2009, the total number of candidates for the priesthood of the world is 115,919 at the end of the year 2007. These students are in 6,781 seminaries around the world; 3,288 diocesan seminaries and 3,493 religious seminaries. The following list is a work-in-progress.

  • Holy Spirit Seminary - established by the Queensland Bishops in 2007 and opened by Cardinal Levada, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

  • Corpus Christi College, Melbourne - established at Werribee in 1923 by Melbourne Archbishop Daniel Mannix for the dioceses of Victoria and Tasmania. Relocated to Glen Waverly in 1960, then to Clayton in 1973 and presently to Carlton in 2000.
