- Point Grey is currently a redirect to West Point Grey, and should be an article about the landform, and there should be a Point Grey (disambiguation) because of various other uses (e.g. the high school). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Vancouver#Point Grey.
- Clayburn, Abbotsford -> Clayburn, British Columbia. Clayburn may be just a neighbourhood of the City of Abby today, but was for a long time a self-standing place and postal address; comma-province for long-established names I thought was the standard, isn't it?

- The convention used in Alberta varies. If the article is on just the former municipality or the former unincorporated community, the name, province convention is used (i.e. Strathcona, Alberta; Beverly, Alberta; Jasper Place, Alberta; etc). If the article is on both the neighbourhood and the former municipality/unincorporated community, then the name, city convention is used (i.e. Montgomery, Calgary; Bowness, Calgary; etc). Forest Lawn, Alberta was just moved to Forest Lawn, Calgary without discussion, perhaps due to this proposal. I do not contest this move as the article is both about Forest Lawn as a neighbourhood and a former town. However I recommend that we be all be careful in determining what the actual article is about before making/proposing just one or deluge of moves from one convention to the other or vice versa. The same recommendation applies to expressing support for or opposition to such proposed moves. Also, since all moves could potentially be controversial, it might be best that all moves be discussed on their respective talk pages first. As for this proposed move, I can't confidently determine if Clayburn, Abbotsford is about only the former place, only the city neighbourhood, or both. If Clayburn is officially recognized as a neighbourhood by Abbottsford, an alternative solution to this proposal could be a split. Hwy43 (talk) 03:17, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I moved Forest Lawn after seeing this request, then checking in on it. Whatever the argument for the BC neighbourhood, Forest Lawn has been a simple Calgary neighbourhood for nearly 60 years. - Nope, nope, nope, nope. Distinct communities with long-standing identities and/or postal addresses which may be submerged within modern municipalities (Clayburn is older than Abbotsford, by the way...) are, as part of the CANMOS debates about the comma-province format, to keep comma-province, not comma-city. Examples abound; sometimes because as with Hatzic, British Columbia and Ruskin, British Columbia, they sit astride boundaries (they're on both sides). Within Abbotsford there are Matsqui, British Columbia, Kilgard, British Columbia (which is the same, location-wise, as the Sumas Band's IR aka I think Lower Sumas), Huntingdon, British Columbia, Bradner, British Columbia, Clearbrook, British Columbia, and there isn't but there should be Sumas, British Columbia (for the old municipality by that name). In Langley there's Fort Langley, British Columbia and Aldergrove, British Columbia. In Surrey there's Whalley, British Columbia and Cloverdale, British Columbia; in Chiliwack there's Rosedale, British Columbia, Yarrow, British Columbia, Sardis, British Columbia and Vedder Crossing, British Columbia, Kent has of course Agassiz, British Columbia but also Ruby Creek, British Columbia and Harrison Mills, British Columbia....Abbotsford's current boundaries are very recent; places like Clayburn and Kilgard and Bradner were either another municipality or, as in Clayburn's and Kilgard's cases, were company towns on unorganized, non-municipal land, and had distinct post offices. Abbotsford, when it was founded and until amalgamation, was only a tiny square mile, surrounded by the giant areas of Matsqui and Sumas municipalities, with unincorporated land on Sumas Mountain nearby. Clayburn has only recently become part of Abbotsford, in other words, and has had a strong identity before that former blip-on-the-map was even founded.Skookum1 (talk) 08:00, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I've discovered that all items in Category:Neighbourhoods in Abbotsford, British Columbia except District of Matsqui (which really shouldn't be in that category) are now in the comma-Abbotsford format but this is contrary to policy, despite assertions otherwise. All places in that category existed before Abbotsford in its current state was formed, and all were long-stnnding independent postal addresses. To me, this seems to be another blind application of one guideline, while ignoring the genesis of that guideline (discussions about which were specific about long-standing separate identities/communities)....you don't see "Fort Langley, Langley or Whalley, Surrey. "Standardization of content/appearance" is not a sufficient excuse to wantonly ignore established conventions (inside Wiki or out of it).Skookum1 (talk) 23:08, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Nicola (chief) -> Chief Nicola. I made the former a long time ago, when there wasn't a clear titling norm for native chiefs, e.g. Chief Seattle was then Sealh....some are still stand-alone because of the uniqueness of the names (Maquinna, Leschi) but for ease-of-use I think "Chief Nicola" is most expedient for this particular item.
- Plains Indians -> Indigenous peoples of the Great Plains. Former term is USPOV, not generally used in Canada; latter term is established format for other ethnolingistic-region pages in the same series.
- See here re "Saltspring Island" (current title, also official name) and "Salt Spring Island" (most common local usage).
- Move Naut'sa Mawt Tribal Council to Naut'sa mawt Tribal Council - proper capitalization is lower-case "m".

- Chinatown and Little Italy, Edmonton. Newly-created article, should be (I think) Chinatown, Edmonton and Little Italy, Edmonton, though the city designates them as one "revitalization zone".
- Could someone familiar with Edmonton speak to this issue/lend a hand? This issue was raised in February, and no input thus far.
- Should Name of Montreal be merged into Montreal? Discussion here.
- All articles in Category:Regional district electoral areas in British Columbia have been tagged for merge to their parent RDs.
- Someone (Bearcat?) objected that since all of these are census subdivisions, then they get to have separate articles. But they're not the same thing as the census subdivision; the latter designation is coterminous with them, but they're not the same thing/function. if e.g. "Central Okanagan H" continues to exist, it should be stated as being a census subdivision which follows the boundaries of the EA; but it's not the same thing, nor has anything to do (other than those boundaries) with the function; one is a federal subdivision, the other is a provincial; that they share the same boundary does NOT mean they are the same thing. Problem with EA articles is people treat them like they're community or region articles, which they shouldn't be.

- Five Houses, Colchester, Nova Scotia is all wrong. The text refers to Sweetland, and the geocoordinates don't point to Colchester County. I suspect the article for Sweetland was being used as a template for Five Houses, but the user didn't quite finish the job. The part of the task that I don't know how to do is getting the coordinates right in minutes & seconds.
- Judi Tyabji is tagged for deletion for having no references, also no categories etc; I'll find what I can but help needed; for now I'll add some cats.
