Mainly they appear to be for adding reliable sources such as various Washington Post and New York Times "blogs" written by legitimate journalists and specifically permitted under BLP & reliable source policies. Perhaps the most bogus filter occurred on the Anthony Weiner article for "adding a news source" to a BLP about an elected politician in the midst of a heated controversy. But all 14 filter incidents are false positives.

It's a known bug that this filter sometimes pulls up things that arent emails because they have an @ sign in the name. It's a lot faster to have it just search for the @ sign, rather than have it individually check all 200-odd possible TLD names (.com, .net, .co.uk, and so on). Most of the times the false positives are things such as newsgroups which don't belong in an article any more than an email address does. Editor suspects that an automatic filter prohibiting the appendage of the word 'racist' to the article 'Black Supremacy' is part of a general and non-conspiratorial Afrocentric contingent on WikiPedia that exploits Western racial sensitivities so as to yield a more positive portrayal of certain politically incorrect aspects of African/black culture. Editor requests immediate removal of said filter so that the article on 'Black Supremacy' can be correctly and clearly described by the word 'racist,' as are other articles describing racial supremacy.
