Jeff Shaffer
Hi, I'm Jeff Shaffer, News Director for Y 106.5. I came into this position following five years as a newspaper reporter covering news in upper Northumberland and Union counties.
I am a lifelong resident of Central Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2001 from Line Mountain High School, and graduated with a journalism degree from Lock Haven University in 2005.
I live in Northumberland with my wife, Beth, a teacher at Shamokin Area High School, and our 3-year-old cat, Sox. (He's a tuxedo.)
My free time is spent with family and friends. I enjoy golf, tennis, football, Frisbee, and anything else that gives me an excuse to run around like crazy. I also exercise regularly. I love watching sports. I'm mostly a fan of Penn State football (Beth and I attend all the home games), the Green Bay Packers and Phillies baseball.
I am up for anything fun, and usually willing to try new things.
Loran Hunter
Radio has been my love since I was little and I've been extremely lucky to be working in a field I love since I was 17. In my spare time I enjoy cooking,baking and being outside.... hiking , relaxing or doing any kind of aerobics or workouts with my vast dvd collections.
Movies are something I can't get enough of. Of course I love horror movies....the more creative the better (Gingerdead Man comes to mind and other B movies most people have not heard of) But Comedies such as Zoolander, Night at the Roxbury and Talledega nights are hard to beat... although Dinner for Schmucks had me rollin a couple of times.
Seeing bands live in concert always makes me appreciate them much more- my favorite ones include The Cure,Depeche Mode and Social Distortion.
Chad Evans
Chad Evans in the afternoon from 2pm-6pm on Y106.5.
I was born and raised on the outskirts of Shamokin Pennsylvania. I’m proud to say that I graduated from Southern Columbia Area in 1998 and went on to college at Luzerne County Community College. Throughout my life I’ve obtained about 48 jobs doing random things within the area, but fell in love with radio. While I was in college, I received and internship with Walt Disney World and worked as a Jungle Cruise Skipper within the Magic Kingdom. It was that internship where I realized I wouldn’t be comfortable working just a “normal” job. I wanted to be in entertainment. Thankfully Max Media of Pennsylvania allows me to do just that.
My days here at the radio station consist of just about everything under the sun. From producing commercials for our wonderful clients to broadcasting Philadelphia Phillies games from Clearwater Florida. It’s true that I wear many hats in this industry, but I wouldn’t want to have it any other way!
Outside of radio you can find me on the golf course, for that is my passion. When I’m not there, I’m along side of my wife Tara raising our puppy “Chooch” and getting ready to move into our brand new house!
I’m so very blessed to be working with such amazing people each and everyday. I truly am one lucky guy!
Kyle Blessing
Kyle Blessing was born in El Paso, Texas and raised across the United States. Living near Baltimore, MD, in Beaumont and El Paso, Texas... Then finally moving to Pennsylvania his Freshman year of High School. Kyle started working at MAX Media (Y106.5, B98.3, and ESPN 92.3FM) of PA as an intern in the summer of 2007 doing little things around the station and also became a part of Tom Morgan's "Breakfast Show". Kyle Blessing was eventually hired full time April 2010.
A few quick facts about Kyle are: I LOVE Batman... In fact. Michael Keaton is the BEST Batman. I am addicted to Facebook. I think Lil' Jon is a genius. I love the drum solo in Phil Collin's 'In The Air Tonight'. I am a die hard Prince fan, and even saw him live in concert December 2010!! Kyle is in fact, WINNING! And I dig long walks on the beach.
