Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to The 33 Strategies of War, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Heads up

Indian Navy is in the middle of editing dispute, thus I won't spend much time on it, as they may be reverted together with underlying edits. Cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 06:03, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:17, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just informing you as to why I had to rollback your recent edits to the Indian Navy article. The user im in a dispute with is a well known sock who has been banned from Wikipedia countless times, unfortunately your edits disallowed me to revert his edits. However since, I have gone back over parts of the article, improving/adding citations , improving readability, spelling, grammar, structure etc. Bushranger normally takes care of Chanakyathegreat and his socks, hes been notified, only a matter of time.TalkWoe90i 12:53, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Gibson

Not sure why this page was deleted... And what the guidlines are that have been set for someone of interest within the entertainment industry.

Peter Gibson has been on TV, Broadway and Film as an actor and has produced, written and directed for film and television.

There were two references from variety articles written about the subject

Gibson Steps into Limelight

Fashion Label Tries on Reality Series

As well as credits included from Imdb.

Peter Gibson

Please explain how this is not sufficient?

Whateverfilms (talk) 21:30, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a more detailed IMDb. The bar is set considerably higher. He doesn't satisfy the criteria laid out in WP:ARTIST, nor has he attracted enough media attention. The first Variety article is more in the way of an announcement, and he is just one of several people mentioned of the second. (The deletion voting is here.) Harumph. Had to pay to look at the San Jose Mercury News archived obit. I placed jpegs of its 2 pages over HERE. What is the best way to add the citation to the article? I think my own method might have been somehwhat clumsy. Thanks, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 21:33, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The first link is dead, so the choice is to either link to photobucket or have the newspaper citation without a link. I think you should ask at the help desk about the legality of the former. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:16, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, I'll do it without the dead link for now and as I paid for a copy of the 1986 article and it was sent to my personal email, I'll ask at the help desk as you suggest. If you drop me an email, I'll forward it to you should you wish it. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 00:44, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Monk Season 2 Episode 11: Mr. Monk & the 3 Pies

Pat Van Ranken was digging through the 2nd Pie because Van Ranken was looking for something. When Van Ranken's digging through the 2nd Pie, Van Ranken throws food onto the ground. Why doesn't the Captain feel Suspicious of Van Ranken? Does the Captain believe that Van Ranken's digging through the 2nd Pie for No Reason? Why would anyone dig through food for no reason? Have you seen Monk Season 2 Episode 11?(76.20.90.53 (talk) 08:44, 20 January 2012 (UTC)).[reply]

I'm pretty sure I've seen it, but it doesn't really stick out in my memory. But people do seemingly odd things, most of which do not give the police justifiable cause to investigate them. Van Ranken could easily have come up with some plausible explanation, e.g. he lost his keys. In real life, Leland would probably be worried about a charge of harassment. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:32, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Is it ok me to ask you to watch Monk Season 2 Episode 11 online when you get a chance? After you watch Episode 11, I'll be able to ask you proper questions.
If you go straight to this website address, then you'll be able to watch Episode 11.

It's ok to ask, but I'm afraid I can't oblige. Clarityfiend (talk) 01:54, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by oblige? Do you have a chance to watch Monk Season 2 Episode 11 today?(108.94.9.153 (talk) 19:25, 21 January 2012 (UTC)).[reply]

Sorry, but I'm not going to spend 40+ minutes watching a show I've seen before and that you've already given away the plot of. Clarityfiend (talk) 21:45, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please answer this question in Complete Sentences: When Monk & Sharona tell the Captain that Pat Van Ranken was digging through the 2nd Pie, does the Captain believe that Van Ranken WAS NOT eating the 2nd Pie?(108.94.9.153 (talk) 22:19, 21 January 2012 (UTC)).[reply]

Yes. The same person beyond all reasonable doubt, and now blocked. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:34, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Costa Concordia disaster

Re this edit, I think it is wrong for the following reason. The length of the ship is quoted to a centimetre, thus conversion to feet and inches is appropriate (1 cm = 0.4 in approx). The distance offshore is given to the nearest tens of metres at best, so conversion to yards is appropriate (1m = 1.1 yd approx). Please reconsider this edit. Mjroots (talk) 08:01, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Orange County Register calls it a "1000-foot long ship" with a "150 foot gash" (ref. 12), Reuters gives the ship's length in feet (ref. 16), the Christian Science Monitor uses feet to fix the ship's location (ref. 45), and the New York Times map (ref. 22) has a scale in feet. So far, I only see one mention of yards, from the Wall Street Journal, which also has feet in its article. Clarityfiend (talk) 08:44, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't mind you reverting the edits in list of prisoner of war escapes, however I do think you ought to have reverted my edit in Franz von Werra at the same time, rather than risk losing the content. Op47 (talk) 23:37, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you mean. I've incorporated most of the information you transferred over from Franz von Werra to the list, and haven't edited von Werra recently. Clarityfiend (talk) 00:18, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A thousand apologies, I misread the difference report. What you did is fine. Op47 (talk) 23:58, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AFD not withdrawn properly

Hey it's cool you agreed, thanks for withdrawing your nomination per WP:WITHDRAWN I'm not sure though if you just forgot or didn't know, but just in case the instructions for closing properly with the templates you need to put in are here Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion#How_an_AfD_discussion_is_closed hope that maybe helps for next time --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 08:35, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? I don't see any extra instructions. Clarityfiend (talk) 09:42, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You have to click the administrator instructions bit, yeah I know, I thought that was a bit dumb too since it says anyone can close them, probably needs fixing --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 10:00, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see that I could have done a Wikipedia:Non-admin closure (hadn't known that before), but it isn't mandatory. Clarityfiend (talk) 10:27, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah you did the right thing not telling you off or anything don't worry just tryng to help it's just otherwise sometimes people who don't read properly to see that you withdrew it don't realise it's closed, the closed thing adds a proper "this discussion hasbeen closed because of reason" thing over it that's all
What I mean is the templates are hidden under Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Administrator instructions (which is the link at top of Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion#How_an_AfD_discussion_is_closed), it's kinda hidden I know the design probably needs to be less confusing there's the same/similar stuff repeated on different pages in a kind of spiderweb, I think because stuff's grown over time and no one's really ever made much effort to try clean it up to be more readable ha --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 10:51, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Belly dancer disambig

I originally moved to Belly dancer (disambiguation) and then changed my mind to go with Belly dance (disambiguation) so that it matches the main article (which is Belly dance). No biggie, you could go either way I suppose. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 05:36, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I had to move the David Copperfield pages back, since the moves proved to be controversial. You can use WP:RM to gain a consensus for where the pages need to be. Cheers! Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:18, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jailhouse Rock

Hi clarityfriend! A little while ago you helped me with the copyediting of the article King Creole. Since I know you do it really well, I was wondering this time around if you could help me with Jailhouse Rock. Copyediting was done, but what I really would need is some help to trim the plot (There's a tag that says that it is either too detailed or long). In case that you can't, would you know another user that can help me with that?. Many Thanks!!--GDuwenTell me! 21:56, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Tabu (film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page South Pacific (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Boruch Szlezinger

Hello,

You have spoken on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Boruch_Szlezinger.

You indicate that all the deportees could not have an article on Wikipedia if they did not have a reputation and history that distinguish them from other deportees.

I agree with you but Mr. Szlezinger has a reputation and a history that sets it apart from others. Mr. Szlezinger is one of the last Holocaust survivors, former prisoner of Nazi concentration camps, the last survivor of the death marches, he saved the first time his mother and sister to the hands of the Nazis during the Holocaust and then he lost his entire family before to find his brother in France. He gave an interview to Max Kohn for the Australian national broadcaster, SBS Broadcasting Groupt hen the interview was the subject of a detailed study in a large university. He works constantly to the memory of the Holocaust and its transmission. He was awarded "Large Invalid War" in Europe, "Policy Deported" by the French government. The deputy mayor and former minister, André Santini and the Defense Minister proposed to the National Order of the Legion of Honor.

Review, please, your judgment. --ZzcommeZz (talk) 11:13, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
