Welcome to the World War II task force of the Military history WikiProject!
Objectives
- Improve Wikipedia's coverage of World War II.
- Make World War II a featured article on the English Wikipedia.
- Add things here!
Participants
Please remember to also add your name to the main list of project members if you are not yet listed there.
- Andreas1968 (talk · contribs) (Eastern Front, German formations and strategy, Normandy, are my prime areas of interest and potential contributions)
- User-multi error: "Christopher Benson" is not a valid project or language code (help). (World War II - My father-in-law Eric Stanmore King was a British tank gunner throughout the Normandy Invasion, and I've been documenting his experiences during the campaign.)
- CidTheGod (talk · contribs) (Added Production information to main WWII article - I currently study Political Science/History)
- cla68 (talk · contribs) (Help out where I can, but prefer to work on articles concerning east Asian/Pacific campaigns. Immediate plans are to improve the articles concerning the Solomon Islands campaign.)
- User-multi error: "SSG Cornelius Seon (Retired)" is not a valid project or language code (help). (My Father and Brother seved in World War II - My Brother is buried in the US Cemetery in Florence, Italy. My Army Career spanned from Vietnam through Desert Storm, and I've waited a long time for something like this to come along as an attempt at presenting the historical facts - as against opinion and conjecture - for this war. I have personal access to a lot of research material on the subjects presented here.)
- Darkildor (talk · contribs)
- DMorpheus (talk · contribs) (Main interests/contributions: Eastern Front, Red Army, US Army, Normandy campaign, Italian campaign, AFV pages, tactics pages. Look but don't touch: Pacific stuff. Glad to help any way I can)

To-do
- Add things here!
- Battle of Königsberg needs some cleanup. Not major but important. See details here and thanks for everyone who will contribute! -- Grafikm (AutoGRAF) 22:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Axis Powers needs to be restructured. I put forward some proposed changes on the talk page, but so far I haven't received any feedback at all. I guess it'd be smart to run this by you guys before making radical changes. Superdix 08:16, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- Military history of India has only a few sentences on WWII.
- Eastern Front is in an edit war again. This began in Dec 2005; the page was protected about ten weeks ago; an RfC was issued; no consensus emerged. Numerous personal attacks on the discussion page. The page was unprotected on April 2, and as of May 4 (33 days later) there have been 133 edits. Average just over 4 per day. It could use some help from knowledgable folks, both on content and on behavior of some editors. DMorpheus 20:22, 4 April 2006 (UTC) and resubmitted 17:23, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Battle of Ortona Could use expantion, I need help filling out and fact-checking the the infobox.
- Battle of Cherbourg could really use an article, or at the very least the article on Cherbourg could somehow reference the Battle of Normandy and vice-versa.--Caliga10 12:03, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Operation Dragoon (Invasion of Southern France) could use some reorganization and an infobox.
- I've just completed a translation of the de article Battle for Caen and posted it on this project. There is still much to do, the opening graphic is the one from the commons and is in German (I'd do it, but I don't have a good graphics editor, I could provide a translation for someone). Other than that, it needs cleaned up, some of the OB stuff is wrong I think and some of the language is obviously a translation, and it needs general fact checking. --Easter Monkey 00:08, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
