Cut & paste move

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Madeleine Riffaud a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Madeleine Riffaud. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. It didn't actually look like socking to me; rather, it was a new user who was unintelligently trying to make the support for keeping the article appear much larger than it was. If you look at this comment, User:Candicell signed as "DAR." Here, User:Candicell signed as "Dr. Adil." Here and elsewhere, User:Candicell signed as "Candicell." That's in addition to multiple unsigned comments which were later signed by SignBot. Judging by the user's poor grasp of English and complete disregard for site policies displayed across the multiple bogus articles they created, it seems like they don't realize any other user can look at the page history and see that there weren't multiple users pushing to keep the article but rather one user signing with different names. It is evident to me that DVdm and Mais oui! were simultaneously reverting a vandalism by 201.76.115.240 resulting in an edit conflict that DVdm didn't notice. Thanks Stig. I've had this a number of times. Huggle is an absolutely fabulous tool, but it has a few shortcomings, specially when there's an instance of Maple 16 running in the backgound and Symantec is running a full virus scan. Thanks for the heads up about the socks. They are now in a check user case, but someone suggested that the guy is editing from many IP access points and may be difficult to block without causing a fairly wide swath of inaccessibility to non disruptive anonymous editors. What is this supposed to mean "First, you can go away"

Are you asking me to leave the Wikipedia Project in basically a polite way of saying "screw off" to me? I have left it for some time I felt addicted to this place, I thought I could attempt to come back to do better, and try to work out problems, it appears I was wrong, and moreover I am being looked at with contempt as a piece of scum by everyone for a problem that happened some time ago THAT I ADMITTED THAT I WAS IN THE WRONG FOR AND APOLOGIZED!!!! Look I had a bad time a while ago that I have admitted to, and now I am stamped for all eternity as "tendentious" and forever a bad user?!!! Second of all, you did not give me time to respond to your statement, you just made the statement and shut the thing down so I couldn't respond. I'm sorry but what you are saying sounds like you are accepting vilification of me in some cheap two dimensional depiction of me, who are the administrators and users who say this?

Also, it is extremely insulting to tell someone to leave the Wikipedia Project, it is basically saying to them "you are of no worth to the Wikipedia Project" - I have made contributions that have been praised, including adding many scholarly sources to articles for years, I have been recently praised in university courses by professors as being best in the class, I regularly work co-operatively with people who want to work co-operatively, and here I am being told that I am basically being told that I have no worth here! You need to learn how to behave like an administrator, if you are miffed because you are seeing way too many AN/I disputes to the point where you just generalize and say "ah great, another one of these types, sigh I'm tired of this", then you are not taking issues seriously. Typically everyone on high-traffic areas of Wikipedia reaches burn out and become completely cynical, I've reached burnout, you seem to have reached burnout, and I know many long-time users who have burnt out and have become cynical and no longer care about any of the principles of Wikipedia. There is one user who although highly intelligent is breaching policy on not biting newcomers, almost every day on Talk:Fascism, but he is respected for his contributions and I used to respect him for being open and cooperative before he became completely cynical. If you want me to leave, then tell me to my face in clear words: "You are of no value to the Wikipedia Project, I neither am interested nor care about any of the contributions you have made, regardless of the time you put in to make them, you will never be forgiven for any of the inappropriate actions you have done regardless of your admission to them and you will be consistently judged as a potential tendentious user.
