Peter confirmed this morning in a short on-air interview with LBC 97.3 Presenter Steve Allen than he is is currently living in "a lovely little village just on the outskirts of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire and have been since 1994." Broadcast this morning at 05:13 on 97.3FM in London. Sadly the interview contained nothing on the new Who series.

Shouldn't it say Frank Capras "It's a Wonderful Life" rather than Franz Kafka? or is there a different later parody version callled Franz Kafkas It's a Wonderful Life? Benson85 02:17, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

didn't you click the link??????

unfortunately it still linked to Frank Capra’s film. Article for Franz Kafka's It's A Wonderful Life wasn't created until March 2007. Benson85

No mention of ‘’The Cricklewood greats‘’ (mockumentary)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.169.168.165 (talk) 06:13, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We may need protection of some sort here due to recent events

Agreed, there's already been four or five vandalism edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.165.95.73 (talk) 18:31, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was editing this page. Why was I not allowed to continue ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.17.96.76 (talk) 18:35, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There has been a surge of editing - including vandalism. AndyTheGrump (talk) 18:38, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Doctor Who

Hi Could someone Please change "On 4 August 2013, it was announced in a live special that Capaldi would become the twelfth actor to portray the Doctor on Doctor Who, succeeding Matt Smith". The word should be "superseding" not succeeding. It's bugging the hell out of me that I can't correct it xD — Preceding unsigned comment added by KiyoTatsu (talkcontribs) 18:48, August 4, 2013

You are correct, KiyoTatsu – I have just made the correction. Cheers! –

Peter Capaldi just got announced as the new Doctor Who live on the BBC. This page is going to see some major traffic (and maybe a few vandals). Big Mac (talk) 18:33, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I was correctly editing and was not amused that I was thrown out. That is just rude. I am a big donator to Wiki and do not appreciate this fascist approach to editors. I will no longer make financial donations to wiki !— Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.17.96.76 (talkcontribs) 18:37, August 4, 2013

Perhaps you could make your suggested changes here, and another editor can add them. Or consider registering and getting an account. Hope this helps. --Ebyabe talk - Welfare State19:59, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I guess I want to vandalise it, just for a laugh. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aishasheeran (talkcontribs) 18:40, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The character's name is the Doctor, regardless of what he has been referred to off-screen and in credits :)

Doctor Who - WHO doctor

I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that Capaldi actually plays a doctor for the WHO in World War Z - a movie that premiered a month before Matt Smith's exit from the series was officially announced and was obviously scripted and filmed long before that. Surely this can't be a coincidence? And if not, shouldn't it be mentioned in the article? dllu (talk) 06:56, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia doesn't do Trivia but I laughed at that too...ironically, the last Doctor, Matt Smith's, IMDb was Matt Smith (XI), XI is Roman for 11 and he was the 11th doctor...--Stemoc (talk) 07:05, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely a coincidence and not worthy of talking about in the article, but still pretty amusing. MisterMorton (talk) 11:24, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Relocate a ref in the Early life section

In Peter Capaldi#Early life, move the guard060831 ref after the comma, to reflect the fact that it confirms only that he was in the Dreamboys. The end result should be something like the following:

Capaldi displayed an early talent for performance by putting on a puppet show in primary school. While at high school, he was a member of the Antonine Players, who performed at the Fort Theatre in Bishopbriggs. As an art student, he was the lead singer in a punk rock band called Dreamboys,<ref name="guard060831"/> whose drummer was future comedian Craig Ferguson.<ref name="fergbk3"/>

Thanks. 72.244.200.170 (talk) 08:47, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who's his female companion?

Capaldi is the Doctor Who 12 , but who's the Ducte hoe Xii ? ;-) ( Tick e it , babe) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.116.77.121 (talk) 09:42, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Er...OK...(Can you even get Dr Who in Iran?) the current companion is Jenna-Louise Coleman, and will remain so next series. --Somchai Sun (talk) 12:16, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Who facebook pages and groups

So how do I add external links like http://www.facebook.com/groups/PeterCapaldi to the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.168.213.78 (talk) 13:36, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You don't. See WP:ELNO - such links don't belong in the article. AndyTheGrump (talk) 13:39, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Better photograph?

He's going to play a major role, this page is set to become quite popular... but we don't have a better clearer photo of him? There are a few CC pics on Flickr that might do the trick. --151.230.9.178 (talk) 23:48, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes they are all non-commercial, non-distributable...so no, can't use any of those....but i'll ask here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/potatojunkie/3303404205/) for him to release that image...looks good...--Stemoc (talk) 00:10, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It does look appropriate. Good luck!  –
 – Gareth Griffith-Jones |The Welsh Buzzard|09:37, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You've asked him to change to CC BY-NC-SA, but that's still not an accepted licence here – it would need to be CC BY or CC BY-SA. January (talk) 11:06, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
whoops, rectified...really hate it that there are atleast 20 better pics than that of him but all protected and for what? its not like those people will ever go over those galleries again....and most don't even read comments..i won't be surprised if I don't get a reply in the next 7 days...--Stemoc (talk) 11:27, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You can always ask people to release their fully copyrighted pictures as CC-BY(-SA). Some people are willing. Also, sometimes it's better to message the person directly rather than comment on the photo. –anemoneprojectors11:48, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually when cropped it's a really good picture, so well done and thanks for getting the licence changed! –anemoneprojectors12:52, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, yeah actually got the picture 2 days ago, uploaded it and even cropped it but as i was about to post it here, i ran out of 'Internet data'..lol....came back today and realised it was still not being used :) ..Indeed, when cropped its a pretty good picture....--Stemoc (talk) 13:41, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ITN

A news item involving Peter Capaldi was featured on Wikipedia's main page in the In the news section on 5 August 2013.

When did this happen? I didn't see it, and it's not there now, nor is it in the non-mainpage long version. It should still be there, since this is the 6th, and things from before the 5th are still there. So obviously, the ITN template is wrong and should be deleted. Or did something very weird happen? -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 12:50, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was, then it was removed...twice....apparently not good enough for the news section....American whistle-blower finding a temporary home was the better news :\ ...--Stemoc (talk) 12:57, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 13 October 2013

Please change 'and a transvestite in ITV's Prime Suspect 3.' to 'and a pre-operative transexual in ITV's Prime Suspect 3.' as it is incorrect. Gadgetfreakk (talk) 10:40, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

When you make requests like this, you need to provide a reliable source. On this occasion, I've done that for you. The IMDb entry for Prime Suspect 3 lists the part as a female impersonator, so I've used that. --Stfg (talk) 11:52, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request for Early Live re Current residence
