Hello Jim and thanks again. This was one of Judicaël's students, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Viloteau, who is less notable than Perroy in the world of the classical guitar, has had some of the same teachers as Perroy, has won less competitions, yet has an article about him in Wikipedia. I read it, re-read it and don't find any difference between what I wrote and the article about Viloteau. The "child prodigy" is referenced to the publication "The Classical Guitar: Its evolution, players and personalities since 1800" and to the page in the publication (223) and this is why I left it there. I should have linked Alberto Ponce because he is mentioned elsewhere in Wikipedia but I didn't and it is my mistake. I did not use ANYTHING from Perroy's blog or website or Youtube, and I am not trying to promote him. He is very big in the world of the classical guitar today but I am not even writing this article to prove it. I am not trying to be argumentative but I simply am puzzled by the fact that the French Wikipedia has him, that his student is in the English version with an article that seems to me to be similar, and that even a referenced quote is not acceptable (by the way, the article about Julian Bream has exactly the same quote). Please help and yes you are right: I am struggling.[[User:Zinjanous|Zinjanous]] ([[User talk:Zinjanous|talk]]) 15:16, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Please add your message to the bottom of this page, give it a heading and sign it using four tildes ~~~~.

Main Page appearance: Trocaz Pigeon

This is a note to let the main editors of Trocaz Pigeon know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on April 27, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at present, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 27, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Trocaz Pigeon

The Trocaz Pigeon is a pigeon endemic to the island of Madeira. It is a mainly grey bird with a pinkish breast; its silvery neck patch and lack of white wing markings distinguish it from its close relative and probable ancestor, the Common Wood Pigeon. It is about 40–45 cm (16–18 in) long with a 68–74 cm (27–29 in) wingspan. Its call is a characteristic six-note cooing, weaker and lower-pitched than that of the Wood Pigeon. Despite its bulky, long-tailed appearance, it has a fast, direct flight. A scarce resident breeder in laurisilva forests, it lays one white egg in a flimsy twig nest. It was formally described in 1829 by Karl Heineken, a German medical doctor and ornithologist, who recognised it as different from the now-extinct local form of the Common Wood Pigeon. Its numbers fell sharply after human colonisation of the Madeira archipelago, and it vanished altogether from Porto Santo Island. The major cause of its population decline was habitat loss from forest clearance, but hunting and nest predation by introduced rats were also contributory factors. Protection of forests and a ban on hunting have enabled numbers to increase, although this species is still endangered. (Full article...)

You (and your talk-page stalkers) may also be interested to hear that there have been some changes at the TFA requests page recently. Nominators no longer need to calculate how many "points" an article has, the instructions have been simplified, and there's a new nomination system using templates based on those used for DYK suggestions. Please consider nominating another article, or commenting on an existing nomination, and leaving some feedback on your experience. Thank you. UcuchaBot (talk) 23:01, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have been rewriting the content because there were copyright infringement in some sections along with "unambiguous advertising". credit union homeowners afforability program and credit union system investment program

Hi JimFbleak, My two pages credit union homeowners afforability program and credit union system investment program were deleted because oof "copyright infringment" and a link to some old documents from the Obama-Biden transitional team (http://otrans.3cdn.net/1e9ee502115d79b0d6_ikm6bh4ia.pdf) were used to justify the deletion of the pages. However, the documents were created by my agency and provided to the Obama-Biden transitional team. Is there a way to have these pages reviewed? Also, we posted a wiki page for Chairman Debbie Matz and we have a box at the top stating the page " needs additional citations for verification" Can this be removed because I'm not sure what other sources we could possible provide. Draft deletion

Hi Jimfbleak! I've been working on an article and it has been deleted because of a copyright infringement. I think it's because a paragraph of Richard Sandoval biography was the same as the one on his official website. Can I write the article again without that quotation (and making sure that no other part is an extract of any other source?) and send the draft again? Did you see another infringement or error in the article? Thank you for your help! Ferfonts (talk) 20:13, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! It was very helpful.

Thank you indeed for your swift response

As we have seen, the authentic site for Yala has not been given the place that it demands since the Yala National Park name has been used by as an advertising and marketing trick by many organizations. We need to channel the users in the right direction. It is sad that the authentic website has not made it to its place due to all these websites that's selling it's name for business. I would like the millions of users to be guided in the right direction. Let's work something out.

sorry for the miguiding approach

Hi, firt of all, let me apologise for the musgiuding approach of contribution. Some of the information in the yala national park article is surprisingly obsolete or rather incorrect. The department of wildlife conservation launched there official site for the Yala national park with the involvement of the corporate sector on the march 3rd (World wildlife day). Therefore the www.yalasrilanka.lk brings the readers more accurate and relavent information since the government involvement. It is a one stop portal for the user without age restrictions. My intention was to have a link to it on the relavant article for the readers to refer and clarify there doubts regarding the park. That link was supporsed to enhance the credibility of the article and ereadicate the rumors of providing 'unreliable information' through the articles even though it was comprehended as a promotional method. For a instance google maps misguide the majority by having a main road inside yala block one, which is in palatupana. The goverment maps proved that there is no such a road but sandy routes. I'm a researcher on wildlife sanctuaries in sri lanka. I'm happy to help the readers not to contribute promotional meterial to articles. Please chevk the department of wildlife resources conservation sri lanka web page which is a goverment site, it contains the link to that page as well which will prove my intention in shsring the same link on the page. Once again i apologize... If you think my actions were innappropriate. Have a profitable day.JakeDash (talk) 17:08, 13 April 2014 (UTC)jakedash[reply]

Page Deletion

Hi Jim, the page triangle productions! is set up for a deletion (from what I can tell), mainly for promotional tone and the user name. The profile "triangleprod" was an account created by myself and a fellow volunteer. Because we are both new to wikipedia, we were not aware of the policies on usernames and the effect it takes on the article. That, I think, should be more clear on wikipedia's part. Though wikipedia is usually user friendly, there are small details that are easily missed. I guess that's on us. The username was created by the both of us, dedicated patrons who have been following the company for many years, as well as other local companies who are more recent. The idea for a wikipedia page came to mind when we came across a page for another company in Portland that has their page approved: Portland Center Stage, a company that has only been around a year longer than Triangle. With the permission of the founder, we dedicated ourselves to helping making this company as legitimate as those around. We have spent weeks researching information at the Multnomah county library, reading local articles and publications. There is even an encyclopedia of information stored at the theatre, highlighting the important historical achievements. If this company has been around for nearly 25 years with no place to read about the entire history, Wikipedia seems like a likely place for the public to read about them. There is history behind the building that was not accessible by the average guest. The two of us have worked hard in order to give information to those who wanted to read about it. There obviously were not searches for triangle productions! previously because the audience who attend this show have also known this company long enough to be up to date on where the company is at now, media-wise. The account that is under trianglepro is about to request the hold be taken off due to lack of knowledge on the username policy. We were under the impression that if we used a name that was incorporated with the company, we were more likely to be published without a hold. I personally have tried my best to edit out all of the writer's voice from the article so there will not be an impression of advertisement. If there is anything we can do to fix this article in the future so we can have all of the history published on one source, please let me know. I do not see it fare that other local companies have pages that are not under question, while we have the same template and information given but a simple username blocks us from proceeding. Please reconsider the article, or let me know how I can edit the information (if I need to add more or whatnot) so this company can have a historical database.Barefeetandcoffee (talk) 19:49, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Original research

Thank you for your helpful comments on my editing. As my harassment complaint at AnI drags on, but on the mercifully shorter discussion on how to sanction me, I am pointing out what I consider to be a misinterpretation by another editor of what constitutes original research. I also mention that Boring clam, the subject of the first criticism by that editor, was in the process of expansion at the time. The content objected to was less than five hours old, and would have been revised as I found out more about the clam. Your opinion on these matters at AnI would be much appreciated. Could you please move the deleted page to my userspace? I didn't start the page, but I was working on adding references and editing the language down to something reasonable. The text may well have been from her official bio, but it seems like she has enough notability for an article. Thanks, Brianyoumans (talk) 12:51, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Martin thanks for message. Please add your messages to the bottom of the talk page, or they may be overlooked. I deleted your article because
  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. No Wikipedia counts as a reliable source, and as far as I can make out the Hebrew artcile is unsourced too. There is nothing in the text to suggest that he is notable enough for an encyclopaedia article.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims or personal opinions presented as fact include: Inspired by... legendary... identity as a creative artist... a collection of short, optimistic stories... written in the magical realism genre... one can find hinted fantastical roots but all of them have a common thread: basic compassion and longing for simplicity... The mix of a highly passionate story filled with compassion adds to the delirious haze hanging over the story line.— it's basically a spammy review, not a factual article.
  • Different Wikipedias have different rules, and the fact that he has an article on the Hebrew version doesn't help you here

Deletion Reply

Hello again, Jim. If I go through with your suggestions, would there be a possibility of having it taken off of AoD? I understand the the idea of an article only being sourced by local sources doesn't necessarily deserve to have a wikipedia page, but there is a big difference in young stars and small venues verses an established company that has been around for 25 years. If I were to argue to keep this article up, how would I do so? Besides with you. I'm sure you get argued with a lot on articles. I know I need to read the articles and guidelines more closely. When you've written tons of articles for tons of blogs and websites, you begin to think you understand how all websites are laid out. After editing the page to make it look less like spam, the next step I see is to argue its legitimacy. How can I go about this? Just because a company is local, doesn't mean it shouldn't have an article. I'm sure I can cite quite a few "local" wikipedia pages. Barefeetandcoffee (talk) 21:58, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The list's looking really good, so far. There may be some pictures hidden away in old PD sources, if you fancy having a look. I think it needs a tiny bit more tweaking concerning the disputed status of some of the subspecies. Perhaps you could include asiaticus in the appropriate table, but include an italic note in the name cell of every disputed taxa. You could then add to the text part of each section explaining the dispute. Perhaps shade the rows of disputed taxa just so it's completely clear. Also, you should probably list the subspecies alphabetically, rather than geographically. J Milburn (talk) 18:57, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There's also nothing about artica- probably worth giving it a separate section with an explanation of the dispute concerning its status! J Milburn (talk) 19:19, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've just noticed that Siberian Nuthatch exists. That article, based on one 2006 source, claims (probably too simplistically) that the subspecies status is outdated. I'd say the best thing to do would be to tweak that article to make the ambiguity clear, and include a link carefully in the Eurasian Nuthatch article and list. Thanks for those comments, I'll be away for a few days, so I'll have a look after Easter. I'm talking to the creator of Siberian Nuthatch, since I don't want to upset a GF editor. With most of the disputed taxa, it really comes down to whether individual editors feel two forms differ enough to count. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:16, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Eurasian Wryneck

Are you good on bird taxonomy? AfadsBad has put a disputed section tag on the taxonomy section of the article Eurasian Wryneck. I haven't got suitable sources nor am I good at taxonomy in general. Would you be able to help? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:44, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It may be the case that I have not hunted diligently enough and there is more recently published information available. Your approach is sensible. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:27, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jim. This user has created a page Dilip Raju (India) on his own show may be due to COI. On the other hand there is no suitable independent reliable source even no reference at all in the page. I have tagged it under G11. Do have a look when you get free. A.Minkowiski _Lets t@lk 17:09, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Along with this please do check this user CongCT who created the page Ambrose method and I think it must contains some one's original research, but when I had look at article history, another user TrendyBeatRecords tagged the page as (unreferenced, uncatogory ....) but when I go through user's talk page, there were only unsigned Barnstar! and when I checked user history, there were a user with the name Bhanguaman2 who gave barnstar to the user, and when I checked user talk page I finally came to know that there were Sockpuppetry case on that user in 2013 here. I am still confused about all these users. Please do have look at them also if there is any possible connection between all these users. A.Minkowiski _Lets t@lk 17:36, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jim. AdnanFarhoud created the page Dimo Nadeem and I tagged it for PROD because of no source available, I also searched but didn't find notability. Where I found that a new user MurtazaHus is continuously tagging pages as orphaned and unreferenced, but most of his tagging seems to be incorrect like [2] and [3] and [4] about biography of living person that should have been tagged for PROD. But I assume good faith and it would be better if you give him suggestions about tagging articles. A.Minkowiski _Lets t@lk 10:10, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unanswered query in Water Rail

Just noticed a clarification query hidden away in Water Rail... unfortunately I do not know the answer. I wonder if it is the result of someone splitting out R. indicus without updating this article. Shyamal (talk) 11:46, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jim: I guess this is the only way to write at the bottom of your Talk page. Please review the following Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Bream. My submission about Judicaël Perroy conforms to it. I am failing to see where the unambiguous promotion is. Please help. Thanks.Zinjanous (talk) 06:51, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jim

Hi Jim. As you know I am recent changes patroller, monitoring new pages and fighting against vandalism and reporting them on WP:AIV from some time. I am quite fine with this job. Now I want to perform some Admin tasks such as deleting pages, blocking users( Including vandals) and other Admin tasks assuming good faith. I am quite familiar with deletion policy and blocking policy and other important policies regarding admin. If you grand me such rights, I can assure you I will perform my best without using inappropriately such admin rights. Thank you A.Minkowiski _Lets t@lk 10:09, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Jim,

I have contested the nomination for speedy deletion but that was seems to be deleted as well as the webpage, Could you please inform me what steps should I take to re-create that webpage and submit it for review ?

FA congratulations again again...

Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of Fulvous Whistling Duck to FA status recently. I know you know all about WP:TFAR and the "pending" list, so this is just a reminder to use them as and when suits you.
You (and your talk-page stalkers) may also be interested to hear that there have been some changes at the TFA requests page recently. Nominators no longer need to calculate how many "points" an article has, the instructions have been simplified, and there's a new nomination system using templates similar to those used for DYK suggestions. Please consider nominating an article, or commenting on an existing nomination, and leaving some feedback on your experience. Thank you.

One for 1st April 2015, perhaps? Must be some scope for an amusing blurb there - whistling ducks...?! BencherliteTalk 13:52, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Uncertainty

Hello Jim,

I noticed you removed my addition to "One for Sorrow". I really don't mean to be rude, but since what I added is a reference in popular culture, I have replaced it. Perhaps you could explain why you removed it? Do I need to add some sort of a cite? The name of the album on which that particular song appears? As I said, I really don't mean to be rude, but I am rather confused.

Best regards, Pitsligo (talk) 01:39, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jim,

Thank you for your explanation for removing my edit. That all makes sense. Sorry if I overcomplicated your day.

Hello Jim, user Lakshmi13000yahoo has created the Cultural iceberg that seems to be pure advert about non-notable organization. I have tagged it under CSD#A7 and G11. Do have a look. A.Minkowiski _Lets t@lk 14:22, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Alog with this, also check this user User talk:Diesscamomot who is creating article on unused images having no good resolution, some of his/her recently created pages on images has gone deleted. But again, user created an other page on Greogorio Y. Zara.jpg that I have tagged for CSD#F1. Please do have a look. A.Minkowiski _Lets t@lk 14:35, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please help and yes you are right: I am struggling.Zinjanous (talk) 15:16, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
