|ShortSummary=After waiting for a long time, Ash and the gang at last meet Fantina: The Hearthome City Gym Leader. The gang meets her in Celestic Town, where Dawn plans to enter a contest. She is in the middle of a battle with Zoey when they arrive. They watch Fantina and her Mismagius defeat Zoey and her Glameow easily with a powerful strategy. When Ash and Dawn both ask for a battle against Fantina she says her Pokémon are too tired to have two more battles so she can only battle one. Using Dawns coin toss application they decide that Ash will have an unofficial battle with Fantina. Ash decides to use Buizel, Chimchar and Pikachu against Fantinas Drifloon. Fantina's Drifloon defeats Ash's Buizel and puts Chimchar to sleep. Next Ash uses Pikachu but during the battle Drifloon evolves into Drifblim and puts Pikachu to sleep. Ash forfeits as Pikachu and Chimchar are both a sleep and can't battle. They agree to battle again another day when Ash is strong enough. Later that day Zoey tells Dawn that she has recently won her third ribbon using her Shellos.

Diamond and Pearl

This is a list of episodes in Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl: Battle Dimension (advertised as Pokémon: DP Battle Dimension), aired in Japan as Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl (ポケットモンスター ダイヤモンド&パール, Poketto Monsutā Daiyamondo & Pāru), the eleventh season of the Pokémon animated series, covering the continuing adventures of Diamond and Pearl series protagonist Ash Ketchum as he continues to travel Sinnoh with Dawn, Pikachu, and Brock.

Overview

The division between seasons of Pokémon is based on the English version openings of each episode, and may not reflect the actual production season. The English episode numbers are based on their first airing in the United States either in syndication on Cartoon Network, or in Canada on the YTV Television Network. Other English-speaking nations largely followed either this order or the Japanese order. Subsequent airings of the English version follow the original Japanese order, except in the case of episodes which are no longer shown in English.

This season began regularly airing in the United States on April 12, 2008 and ended on May 2, 2009, with a total of 52 episodes dubbed in English. This is also the first season to have DuArt Film and Video produce the English version of the Pokémon anime series in general after Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai (due to TAJ Productions disbanding), and the first to have a new voice director (Tom Wayland) who has also done work for 4Kids Entertainment, as well as a first to have 4Kids related actors in guest starring roles on the show since Season 8 of the series.

The series was released on six volume DVDs and three box set by Viz Media in the United States.[1]
