Please accept .....

I think this may be another sock. I noticed some other IP edits in the last couple of days but just ignored them. Could you have a look at this one though, please? SagaciousPhil - Chat 18:37, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, blocked. Favonian (talk) 18:38, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! SagaciousPhil - Chat 18:43, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for being so quick off the mark with the latest batch of IP addresses ... I'd gone from blindly reverting every edit the other day to being in complete "ignore" mode! SagaciousPhil - Chat 18:15, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The depressing fact is that he has more stamina than the rest of us combined. The advantage of a limited imagination. Favonian (talk) 18:20, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yep. I blocked one yesterday, I believe. Drmies (talk) 18:21, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for being so quick off the mark again. Looks like they are up earlier than usual as this isn't the usual time of day? As this seems to be the latest favourite breed might it be worth semi protection? SagaciousPhil - Chat 12:04, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Bernese Mountain Dog semi'd for three months. Only a few hundred dog articles to go. Favonian (talk) 21:36, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! The FCI currently only recognises 343 breeds ... ... but at least he generally sticks to breeds within the working and pastoral groups. Let's look on the bright side: it's meant I've fixed most of the FCI 404 errors in a lot of articles while chasing after him to verify weights, heights etc. SagaciousPhil - Chat 14:03, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed you caught one earlier - but he's rapidly back. Hopefully you haven't gone off line ... SagaciousPhil - Chat 14:50, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not yet. Bagged'm. Favonian (talk) 14:52, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! You and I both got to the "pizza deliverer" edit at the same time but you managed to be fractionally faster at hitting the save button. SagaciousPhil - Chat 14:57, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The word "pizza" triggers my cat-like reflexes. :) Favonian (talk) 14:59, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tirgil34 and IP socking

Hi, Favonian. I've filed another SPI against Tirgil34, including IP socks. Since you're a software architect and experienced with countering vandals on Wikipedia i would like to ask you a question. Last year, various IPs with the range 176.219... (Istanbul) were socking on Karasuk culture with confirmed Tirgil34 sock Greentent.[1][2] Recently, IPs of the very same range have been accusing others of being socks of Tirgil34 at my talk page.[3] Would you consider it likely that these IP's belong to the same person? Krakkos (talk) 16:00, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think my software-designing skills, such as they are, will be of much use in getting to the bottom of that morass. CheckUsers have the clairvoyance necessary, but are reluctant to publicly link IPs to named accounts. Not a very helpful answer, I guess. :( Favonian (talk) 16:16, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no problem. I've asked Mike V about the issue. Krakkos (talk) 01:11, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's embarassing, but i got to reply to my question to Mike V. (except from Tirgil34's IP sock) :( On a sidenote, having spent some quality time investigating Tirgil34, i've found some very ducky accounts. User:Mrliebeip restores the sockmaster here,[4][5] adds content identical to a confirmed sock here,[6][7] and marks[8][9] his edits similar to many Tirgil34 socks.[10][11][12][13][14][15] Riversides most notable edit is to restore[16] content originally added at Nart saga by Alpargon.[17] Riversides was earlier blocked as a Tirgil34 sock in December 2012 but later unblocked for technical reasons. Henephon7 was blocked and then unblocked in the same period, and he has later been confirmed as a Tirgil34. Both Mrliebeip and Riversides are stale, but blocking them so that they could be properbly tagged would be useful for further investigations. Can WP:DUCK be applied to stale socks? Krakkos (talk) 23:19, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Can you block this IP? He is ELreydeEspana. Matiia (talk) 23:43, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Favonian (talk) 05:54, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :) --Matiia (talk) 20:10, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"...and that's the end of that chapter." Favonian (talk) 15:57, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, saw it DoRD, thanks. Dougweller (talk) 17:00, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sonny1998's sockpuppets

@Favonian, Bbb23, and DoRD: I'm pretty sure that banned user Sonny1998 returned once again, this time as Walknack (his contributions - [18]). Just for record, Favonian already banned his sock Favour1600 (his contributions - [19]) in March (as well as few other socks)... IMHO, this is a clear DUCK. --Sundostund (talk) 17:12, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. Blocked. Favonian (talk) 17:20, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Off the deep end again?

Sunk, in fact. Favonian (talk) 20:57, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User:NQ and User:NeilN, I apologise, although it was not me. Thanks. I am very sorry for that. --Ahlm85 (talk) 14:31, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

UTRS#13647 - LouisPhilippeCharles

Hi! I'd like to hear your thoughts on UTRS ticket #13647 by LouisPhilippeCharles -- you don't have an UTRS account (yet?) so let me know if you'd rather request one so I can approve it, or maybe I can paste his appeal here? He calls you a moron and whatnot (surprise!) but the most recent abuse I could find at the SPI dates from July 2014 so I was wondering if there was any more recent abuse you might be aware of that I might add as a supplemental reason to decline. Thanks! ☺ · Salvidrim! ·  23:41, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Salvidrim!: Hi Salv. Well, LPC's feelings for me are most heartily reciprocated! Formal SPI filings have longe since given way to routine RBI, though one recent incident did at least cause some formal exchange between another admin and me: the antics of EverCriticised (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), who manage to get an account by slightly understating the background. I also suspect that a good deal of the activity on Maria Teresa Felicitas'Este (one of his favorite hangouts) earlier this year was due to this person. He has been informed repeatedly about WP:OFFER, but the message has never really sunk in. Usually, I'm happy to the do the AGF while swinging the WP:ROPE, but for this particular nuisance I would really prefer if he stayed well and truly blocked, at least until a year of absolutely sock-free tranquility has passed. Favonian (talk) 16:25, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the insight! I'll respond to UTRS appeal #13647 accordingly. :) ☺ · Salvidrim! ·  16:35, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A Dobos torte for you!

To give a Dobos Torte and spread the WikiLove, just place {{subst:Dobos Torte}} on someone else's talkpage, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.

Hi

Hi. I am User:AHLM13. You blocked me for two times. Of course not for my actions, but due to the hacker. You blocked my old account by writing "that's it". It was better if you wrote somethin like before, such as hacked account. Also, yesterday you reverted all vandalism done by the hacker, which was good of course, but can you tell me why did not you revert this? Yes, this was a userpage, but it do not take long to understand that it my account was hacked. I asked to check user to prove that I am inoocent. thanks --Ahlm85 (talk) 14:30, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Smenkhkare

Do you realise you dared to revert the addition of an ebook by the Rt. Rev. Count Ian Wesley Rice, Prince Primate Of The Rhine And Lord Abbot Of White Abbey.? [22] and [23]. Dougweller (talk) 09:35, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh My God(!) I'm so totally Doomed. :( Favonian (talk) 09:38, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I think we conflicted at WP:RPP earlier today. I decided that the article could survive without protection, at least for the minute, you semi-protected it for a year. That's quite a difference of opinion - maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle and semi-protected for a shorter duration? What do you think? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:12, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Ritchie333: The gap is indeed noticeable. ;) The reason for what might appear as an overly ferocious protection is a long-running issue with a person, who edits from Telstra IPs in New South Wales. The targets appear to be mostly musical keys, e.g. C-sharp minor, and the vast undergrowth of articles named So Fresh: The Hits of Summer 2002 with arbitrary replacement of season and year. The edits are invariably unsourced and frequently disruptive, leading to a long series of escalating protections and (range) blocks. I have only been peripherally involved, so maybe the length of the protection is not the "going rate", but there is a definite problem. There may even be an LTA somewhere, but I can't find it – a special case of a more general problem. If you feel strongly about it, you are welcome to reduce the period to some number of months, but I can't promise you that the problem will have gone away when it expires. Favonian (talk) 16:04, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, no I don't have any strong feelings about it to be honest, so if nobody else complains then I don't think it's worth worrying about. I do have strong feelings about people wander into lists (or even worse, list articles) and adding entries so it ends up in a giant collection of list cruft (example), but that's not really something protection can resolve. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:09, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The lists are a notorious source of, ahem, contributions that Wikipedia could do without. Many of them are also of very limited relevance, but the obvious solution of just getting rid of them will probably fail to gain traction. Favonian (talk) 16:12, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contribution on the last topic, Hera

Hi, I got my access back today after a week's suspension and wanted to resume on my edits made last on the topic Hera. I saw that you reverted them as not relevant but I still believe that those were minor changes and can be accommodated. I can add more relevant information to what I already had if need be. Please let me know if that's fine, I don't wanna get engaged in any violations or edit warring possibilities. Appreciate your help. Munchkin1230 (talk) 20:59, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Traumatic brain injuries

Where do suggest tbi long term services and supports go, before or after the research on medications that don't work? Your group wants the latter on as a government rip off gate or what? JARacino (talk) 20:57, 16 May 2015 (UTC)JARacinoJARacino (talk) 20:57, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have absolutely no idea, what you're talking about. As far as I can tell, I have never edited the traumatic brain injury article, nor have I interacted with you. Favonian (talk) 13:17, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can you blocked him/her, because s/he repeatedly disruptive editing especially Jealous (Nick Jonas song). 115.164.223.190 (talk) 08:37, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Favonian (talk) 08:41, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
He only reversed deleted information what was month earlier decided that the tinshe remix was released to promote the single jealous further. so a promo single. Tomica keeps removing the information. and he keeps getting blocked because of her.
