The 2015–16 season is Galatasaray's 112nd in existence and 58th consecutive season in the Süper Lig. They will be aiming for an unprecedented 21st League title, after finishing the Süper Lig first place in previous season.

In Europe, Galatasaray will be competing in the Champions League for a 15th season. As well as this, they will also compete in a domestic cup, the Turkish Cup.

  • On 31 May 2015, Galatasaray revealed the pre-season summer camp schedule. The camp schedule for the Galatasaray professional football team prior to the next football season begins on July 5 at the Windischgarsten, Austria.[2]
  • On 13 June 2015, it is announced that head coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu had extended his ongoing contract for 3 more years.[3]
  • On 17 June 2015, it is announced that Galatasaray began official negotiations regarding the transfer of Turkish professional football player Bilal Kısa from Akhisar Belediyespor.[4]
  • On 18 June 2015, it is announced that defender Sabri Sarıoğlu has extended his contract until 2016.[5]
  • On 25 June 2015, it is announced that Galatasaray sold Nordin Amrabat to Málaga. Málaga triggered the €3.5M buyout clause for him.[6]
  • On 26 June 2015, it is announced that Galatasaray will not participate in the Afyon Cup between 11-14 July. Instead, Gala will play with SV Ried at Austria in July 14.[7][8]

  • On 31 July 2015, it is announced that Galatasaray began official negotiations regarding the transfer of Spanish professional football player José Rodríguez from Real Madrid.[21] Galatasaray will not be paying any transfer fee for the footballer, and also José Rodríguez would receive a salary of €0.8 million per year.[22]
  • On 5 August 2015, it is announced that Berk İsmail Ünsal and Emre Can Coşkun are loaned to Giresunspor and Alanyaspor, respectively.[23]
  • On 5 August 2015, it is announced that the club has extended the contracts of the Alperen Uysal and Furkan Özçal. Subsequently, they are loaned to Gaziantepspor and Kayserispor, respectively.[24][25]

  • On 31 August 2015, it is announced that Galatasaray began official negotiations regarding the transfer of German professional football player Kevin Großkreutz from Borussia Dortmund. The original bid of Galatasaray was reported as €1.5 million, also Großkreutz would receive a salary of €1.85 million for the first year.[39]
  • On 2 September 2015, it is announced by FIFA that Galatasaray had failed to submit the relevant documentation for Kevin Großkreutz before the transfer window closed. FIFA dismissed the case, because the signed documentations were not submitted on time by Galatasaray. FIFA have refused to sanction Kevin Grosskreutz's proposed move from Borussia Dortmund to Galatasaray, therefore the player will not be available for all the matches until January 1, 2016.[40]
