== Problem playing songs? ==

Does anyone else have a problem playing "Ironic"? The other two ("Thank U" and "That I Would Be Good") present no problems. I was wondering if there is some technical problem someone could fix. __[[Special:Contributions/209.179.0.121|209.179.0.121]] ([[User talk:209.179.0.121|talk]]) 15:40, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Requesting citation under "Acting Career"

Since this page is locked, I can't add a 'When?' request in the first sentence of the last paragraph under Acting Career: "It was mentioned on her website..." HonkyTonkHarlot (talk) 06:02, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 06:04, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alanis/Nadine

Is Alanis her real name? I heard that Nadine is her real name. VenomousConcept (talk) 16:45, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like a vegan for better or worse??

Since when do vegans have a particular look?! And who's opinion is the "for better or worse"?? Sounds like the writer had a thing against vegans... Can we either remove this sentence, or just make it a plain comment that she is a vegan? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Geqo (talkcontribs) 06:08, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

well, she certainly looks ugly. That's why she didn't start to be an actress but only a singer, where looks are not that important. 93.219.174.199 (talk) 17:06, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Huh? Alanis ugly? Well, you probably think Miley Cyrus is very pretty. 85.217.34.67 (talk) 12:17, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously a lot of opinions going on here. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; We do facts, not opinions. 'For better or worse' Is blatant weasel wording. 67.86.187.137 (talk) 18:44, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian?

Why would a cite be needed that she is Canadian? Is it not sure she was born is Ottawa? If not, I think the cite-needed-tag should be placed there instead. 85.217.36.71 (talk) 20:05, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And actually the "Personal life" section has a sentence: Morissette became an American citizen in 2005, while maintaining her Canadian citizenship. with a source, so I think the citation needed must be deleted from the header ASAP. 85.217.36.71 (talk) 20:08, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, the lead is supposed to summarize the article. Such a statement is needed in the lead. Yworo (talk) 01:54, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The most appropriate way to correct the mistake is to introduce the line: "Alanis Morissette is a Canadian-American...". The fact that she is Canadian is subtly implied considering she was born in Canada and that Canada is a jus solis nation. The fact that would help readers with the article summary would be to introduce the fact that she is also American, explaining later that it was through naturalization rather than jus sanguinis. It could also be helpful to link the naturalization link to the article on citizenship laws of the United States since it will say that the US allows dual citizenship. --- Loukinho (talk) 23:12, 8 June 2012 (UTC).[reply]
I agree and it's important that she considers herself Canadian-American: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6986872/ --Cannot (talk) 12:53, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore there has been some issues with some editor arguing that somehow WP:OPENPARA is being violated. I am requesting the help of much more experienced users to help us understand why a subject who is still notable to this day is treated at will as if she was a subject that had only achieved notability in the past, before 2005. I thought OPENPARA clearly stated that the use of citizenship or nationality should be included and only in the case of people notable primarily for past events is that the context should be re-adjusted. I am possibly missing something here and probably any of her albums after 2005 should have their own articles on wikipedia, considering that, much like the singer, she can no longer be considered notable after 2005. But then again, who am I other than just a random editor with no authority, right? -- Loukinho (talk) 19:11, 12 June 2012 (UTC).[reply]
What you are missing is that we simply do not use compound nationalities, because they are read differently by different speakers of English (British vs. American vs. Australian, etc.). "Canadian American" is ambiguous: in some forms of English it means an American-born person with Canadian ancestry, which is not accurate. Therefore, we use the nationality held at the time the subject became notable in the lead sentence, and mention any addition nationalitake the article inaccurate for a subset of readers. Just don't use a compound term. Yworo (talk) 23:27, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, you just changed your discourse now. Please show me where in the wikipedia policies you got this from. WP:OPENPARA is very clear in stating that the country in which the person is a citizen or permanent resident should be used in the lead sentence unless the subject was notable mainly for past events (For instance, you can't say that Josip Broz Tito was Croatian because back when he was notable, Yugoslavia was his country of citizenship). Please refer to the article Canadian American for the meaning used on wikipedia. Please explain to me how this article is different from Jim Carrey or any other Canadian-Born American citizen as far as citizenship is concerned. -- Loukinho (talk) 00:49, 3 July 2012 (UTC).[reply]
According to that article, both meanings apply.
Sure, it starts with A Canadian American is someone who was born or grew up in Canada then moved to the United States.
But, the opening chapter ends with this: To others, especially for those living in New England or the Mid-Western States, a Canadian-American is one whose ancestors came from Canada. 85.217.34.67 (talk) 19:38, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's picture policy is completely wrong!

You should put her beautiful pictures... NOT these pictures! Böri (talk) 08:46, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Religion: Buddhist?

I've noticed that several times people list Alanis' religion as "buddhist" or various others. I was wondering if there's any evidence of her claiming this because I don't know if she's ever claimed to belong to a specific faith (after catholicism). She says she is spiritual but doesn't mention religion...so is she really a buddhist? Does anyone know her current religious affiliation? It would be better to not list her as a follower of a specific religion until there's concrete proof. Thank you! --Turn685 (talk) 16:52, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ABC GENERAL HOSPITAL ARTISTS AND SONGS

I would Luv to search more information on this series as well as other TV series. Names of song writers, musicians, collaborations, and external links to download songs... Fashionista.xoxo (talk) 14:15, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was surprised to see there was not a List of songs recorded by Alanis Morissette. I redirected the page to here for now, but feel free to get a list going before me if you have time and interest. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:51, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

In View Askewniverse it says she reprised her role as God for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, however, it doesn't show this in her filmography. I haven't seen the film in a while, so I can't exactly confirm this, but if it is the case the filmography should be updated. 67.86.187.137 (talk) 18:47, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Marital Stats

Sorry, too lazy to sign in. She never married Ryan Reynolds as it states in the box. Under personal it says she married someone in 2010 and is not recorded in the box. Just an FYI 2601:200:8100:DC14:8D05:A8B2:BC52:B833 (talk) 04:06, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
