Add your request in the most appropriate place below. |
Before adding a request please:
Please do not list yourself, or your own band, as this is considered promotional. Whether your band warrants inclusion in Wikipedia is a decision that should be made by someone else. Consensus appears to be to list individuals alphabetically by their first name, and all band names beginning with "A", "An", or "The" should be placed alphabetically by the second word in their name. Sources must be provided at the end of the article request, and the article itself must be linked. Any request that does not follow these guidelines will be removed. Before you save the page, please make sure to preview the page that the article is a red link, otherwise, disambiguate it usually with (band) or (group) or if these already exist, then you can usually disambiguate it further by origin (American band) or by genre (rock band), etc. Also, when adding a request, please include as much information as possible (such as webpages, articles, or other reference material) so editors can find and distinguish your request from an already-created article. |

- Grand Agent (, born Jared Lee Taylor, is a Hip-Hop Artist from Philadelphia. He began his career in 1994, when he formed the group NAME with Larry "Mr. Cisum" Fowler, and the now acclaimed theater director Ozzie "Old Man" Jones. NAME was at the forefront of an underground movement in Philadelphia between 1995-1998. Others to come out of that scene include Jill Scott, Bilal, Musiq Soulchild, Beanie Segal, Black Ice, Rich Medina, and others. In 1998, Grand Agent began his solo career with Czark Casket Records, a Los Angeles based indie label run by Zach Katz. Together with Katz, he produced his debut album By Design. The album featured production by Lord Finesse, Hi-Tek, Kut Masta Kurt, and Chops with features from Planet Asia and AG of DITC. By Design was released in January 2001 on Groove Attack Records, a powerhouse indie label and distributor headquartered in Cologne, Germany. The relationship eventually led to Grand Agent relocating to Cologne for 2 and 1/2 years. During his time in Europe, he toured extensively and Executive Produced his second album Fish Outta Water, with Groove Attack acting as distributor. During this time, Grand Agent began working with Jim Drew. Drew's lable Soulspazm Records handled the release of Fish Outta Water in the US, and a long term arrangement between GA and Soulspazm developed. Cashing into the Beat Society movement of the time Grand Agent and Jim Drew co-executive produced a Fish Outta Water Remix Album, The Beat Society Remixes. Grand Agent returned to the states in January 2004 shortly after the release of Fish Outta Water and The Fish Outta Water Remixes. The relationships forged in Europe, both with local artists and with US artists touring abroad supplied Grand Agent with a steady stream of recording opportunities upon his return home. At the suggestion of touring partner Dudley Perkins a/k/a Declaime, Grand Agent recorded an EP with OHNO entitled Under The Circumstances. It was released in 2005 on Soulspazm. Being at the height of the Myspace era, Grand Agent's impression on Europe followed him home. Work came in from Italy, which resulted in Regular. The EP is an English-Italian bilingual mash-up with Club Dogo, produced by Don Joe. Vibra Records of Milan released the project in 2005. Poland came next. The number one Polish producer and MC OSTRS produced an entire album for Grand Agent. Adult Contemporary was released in 2008 by Asfalt Records of Warsaw. A little while later Germany came calling, and Gettin' Away, a 2009 Soulspazm release was produced with Prickly Pear of Mannheim. Lastly, the UK. Grand Agent collaborated with Tea Sea Records founder Tom Caruana to produce two albums, The Ghetto Ain't A Place, and Agent & Raynge the album, a duo project with Grand Agent's wife at the time Liv L'Raynge. Notable collaborations include 2002's This Is What They Meant, a duet with Pete Rock and 2009's Minivan feat. Camp Lo. - Dangermaker (Artist) Dangermaker emerged from San Francisco, CA in 2009 when singer/songwriter Adam Burnett unveiled a series of unfinished home demos to drummer Carlos Rodrigues. They collaborated to create edgier sounding songs than either had previously and went into PopSmear Studios to record with Scott Llamas (Dizzy Balloon/Panda, The Action Design, Finish Ticket), resulting in a widely reviewed 5-track EP including the Owl Mag naming Dangermaker “One of my top 5 favorite Indie bands in the Bay Area”. However, the band was still an incomplete duo until keyboardist David DeAngelis left the Arkansas Delta to see what the West Coast had to offer and brought bassist Neko along one night. While all four members began as complete strangers, they were brought together by a shared passion and need to create music reflective of their diverse backgrounds, tastes, and influences, a need that came to fruition when they went into Studio SQ in 2011 to record “Black Dream” with producers John Flores and Justin Sachs (Two Gallants, A B & The Sea, Foreign Cinema). What they could not have imagined was that during the first week of tracking, Adam’s father suffered a fatal accident and suddenly passed away. Dangermaker gained direct insight into a parable that artists have held throughout time — human experience is the substance from which honest and true works of art are formed. While the recording process nearly ground to a halt, the band ultimately used the tragedy as creative motivation and admit that “Without realizing it the experience influenced many of the new songs found on the record. Writing and recording became a process that brought us all together.” Hot on the heels of their 2013 debut album Black Dream, Breakup Records also released Light The Dark I in the fall 2014, which has received rave reviews and serves as a signed testament to the timeless maturity and solidity of the band's sound. Channeling a signature brand of dark indie pop ala early Killers, Phoenix, and White Lies has propelled the band forward to recent showcases at SXSW, CMJ and beyond. - Dez Nado is an American hip hop and reggae artist, songwriter/music producer, and TV producer from Jacksonville, Florida. I've been following this artist and he's been known locally for years, now he's gaining notoriety nationally and I think his case is truly unique, I'd like the pleasure of submitting a request for him to you all first because I know the next few months will be very newsworthy for him and his movement. He regularly updates his webpage [212] and [213] , both of which I follow, with photos from his shows, interviews, and news, giving his supporters a firsthand look into his budding career, which, according to his biography on Music Connectz Magazine [214] started meagerly when he was a college DJ in Jacksonville, selling CDs on campus and promoting his own shows during his radio show. I read that he was nearly killed by a gunshot to the chest, which he survived and started using his music as a platform for conscious art, progressive policies and non-violence. Apparently this led to him being seen by the right people and releasing his first mixtape album series "No Hands" which included No Hands, No Hands 1.5, and No Hands 2 originally distributed by KKR/Island/Def Jam, which includes his most progressive work in response to his position on the Trayvon Martin shooting and the “Stand Your Ground” policy in his homestate of Florida [215] [216] [217] [218] now distributed exclusively by MTV [219] [220] . More recently, Dez premiered a new cable reality TV series called “Life & Grind” (Bounce TV) that gives an even more personal look at not only his “grind” but other indie artists and bands who are trying to “make it big” [221]. Major features from Dez Nado include August Alsina, Caskey, Taylor Gang’s Lola Monroe, Fetty Wap, and more [222] [223] Senorita [224]. Major strides have also included a performance during 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards weekend [225] and winning the title of 2014-2015 Jacksonville Artist of the Year at the Duval Music Festival [226]. Music Video and Music Host Network Feature [227] Jacksonville Magazine feature [228] Dez Nado also was invited to interview on First Coast News (ABC25/NBC12) to talk about his innovative new reality series "Life & Grind" [229] [230] Entrepreneurship is evident in Dez Nado’s One Spark crowdfunding pitch, which was featured and shared with investors in the 2015 festival that garnered over $1.5 Million worth of potential investment in projects like Dez’s Life & Grind. - Epoch Failure (band) - Epoch Failure is an urban pop duo resulting from the collaborative efforts of singer/producer Billy Joe Marrero and rapper Nick Young. With this charismatic pair, what you see is what you get. And that’s simply a couple regular guys from The Garden State. No egos. No attitudes. Just a lot of talent. Billy Joe (aka “Billy The Kidd”) was born and raised in Camden, NJ. As one of five boys growing up in a single parent home, he’s no stranger to challenges. In 2007, ABC’s 20/20 came to Camden to profile children growing up under the conditions of extreme poverty. Billy was one of three kids selected by the show’s producers. For nearly a year he was followed by news anchor Diane Sawyer and crew, who even spent a night in his family’s house to experience sleep without heat or power. After this 20/20 special aired, the positive response to Billy and his family was overwhelming. So much so, they were nominated for an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The makeover included a full home recording studio for Billy to pursue his musical passions and this was -ultimately- his launching pad and turning point. Putting his degree from Camden’s Creative Arts High School to good use, Billy’s been crafting infectious melodies and bangin’ out monster tracks ever since. Nick (aka “Nickey Knoxx”) was born in Brooklyn, raised in Williston, SC and then bounced around the east coast before finally landing in Trenton, NJ. As a rapper, Nick has been grinding on the Jersey hip hop scene since his early teens. Once of legal age, he enlisted in the Army as a way to receive a college education and open up more options for his future. Nick attended West Virginia University and now, in addition to penning brilliant lyrics and party-rockin’ crazy crowds, he serves full-time in the New Jersey Army National Guard as a photographer and broadcast journalist. While they likely refer to him as Staff Sergeant Young, rather than Nickey Knoxx, his Army superiors are extremely supportive of his musical mission. In September, 2013, Epoch Failure signed with North Star Media for an exclusive publishing and recording contract. Webpage = [www.epochfailure.com] Notable member: Billy Joe Marrero - was on ABC's 20/20 with Diane Sawyer and ABC's Extreme Home Makeover.

- Ika (band) Is an indie / americana band from Belgrade, Serbia. Members are: Ivana Smolović (vocal), Darko Živić (guitar), Marija Jovanović (violin) and Miloš Popović (double bass). Ivana started practicing the guitar some years ago while listening to her favorite Iron and Wine, Kings of Convenience and J.Tillman, at the same time trying to compose little pieces for the songs she has been writing for years. First home recordings she made reached Ivan Lončarević, radio host of a popular indie music program Pop Depresion (Radio Studio B, 99,1), who offered to enlist the song Bubble into a compilation he was working on at the moment: Morning will change everything? - New music scene of Serbia. That is when Ivana decided her song needed a proper presentation, and since that guitar practicing didn’t go way to well, she turned to a friend. Darko and Ivana had already played together a couple of years back in a trio, trying to portray their favorite jazz and bossanova standards. Instantly, they made a perfect music match. The initial idea was to keep the band small. Their future violin player Ivana met while working on a project A Star is Born (directed by Vanja Kovačević), a rocumentary of a cover band Writers of Fiction, which plays songs by The Decemberists. Marija was already a fan of Bubble, the song that, in the meantime, became something of a radio hit single. [301] [302] sr:Ика_(бенд)

Despite meeting Wikipedia's criteria of notability (2 albums on Acetate, Ramones-associated members), the information on the band is scarce and finding reliable sources is challenging (which is another reason this is a request for an article rather than an attempt to write one). The original publications of the independent materials (like those cited on the band's website) tend to be rarely available online and multilingual. Nevertheless, here is what I've managed to find so far: discography and line-up - http://www.allmusic.com/artist/sour-jazz-mn0000844853 , http://www.discogs.com/artist/2195615-Sour-Jazz , http://acetate.com/bands/sour-jazz/ ; 2010 Spanish tour with Daniel Rey - http://rockandrollarmy.com/magazine/magazine/breves/5241-sour-jazz-a-daniel-rey-gira-espanola-en-junio.html ; press-clipping from the Ghostrider label (featuring scanned review from the Rolling Stone Germany magazine) - http://pitshark.free.fr/ghost/sour_jazz_clippings_kit.pdf ; an early album review in a Spanish magazine (page 119) - http://denaflows.com/blog/InFocus/04/00.%20In%20Focus%2004.%20Extra%202002.pdf .Hope this would make it enough to get an article appear on the requested list, so that the better informed community members could be extending the material over time.

- The Angelic Process [676] Formed in Macon, Georgia, United States in 1999 by K.Angylus and M.Dragynfly, The Angelic Process produced music over an eight year period. Pioneers and figureheads of the ambient drone metal subgenre of extreme music, their stylistic influence can be found in numerous other bands that have followed. With a sound that fused layered guitar drone and complex yet fluidly shifting time signatures, The Angelic Process forged new musical ground, and over the course of three studio albums and two EPs, developed and refined a sound that has been described as "the sound of the soul." The band was known for their unique and engaging live performances. Blasting noise, complex melodies, droning guitar resonance, rippling bass, tom-heavy martial drums, and haunting, ethereal vocals collided to create violently ambient songs that had a definite shape and progression, but enveloped the audience in warm, immersive soundscapes. In October 2007, the band was put on hold indefinitely due to Kris Angylus' severe hand injury. Half a year later, on the 26th of April 2008, he fell victim to clinical depression and took his own life.

- Trio Hellenique (https://www.facebook.com/TrioHellenique) Vasilis (Basil) Nikolaidis started at the age of 13 to learn guitar and within a time span of 2 years together with some neighborhood friends had created his first TRIO. While still being a high school student he would perform as an amateur at various dances and at many radio stations under the name: TRIO TEMPO. He sang at many Greek movies, such as "Ta Kitrina Gantia", "Treis Koukles kai Ego", "Kainourgies Elpides", etc. He became well-known whilst performing next to Omiros Athinaio and Georgios Oikonomidis at Green Park. He left Greece having signed a contract at a Greek Club in Paris and it was there where the group was renamed to: TRIO HELLENIQUE. After Paris he worked in Brussels, Antwerp, Sweden and later in the Netherlands, where he achieved his first success by entering the Dutch Hit Parade with the song "Nina Nai" (a Turkish melody with Greek lyrics). Their LP's were a success and many songs entered the Top, songs such as "Marinela", "Varka sto Gialo", "Ela Ela" (girise se perimeno girise), "O Kaimos", "Ta Dakria" and of course the "Zorbas" for which a Golden Record was received. At 1970 he went to Greece and worked at the Hilton hotel for 3 years. After that he returned to Holland where eventhough he changed several singers, he maintained the TRIO until today, while now he only sings at various parties only for his friends. When pro surfer Chris Malloy heard Smith's music, he included the song "Wrong" in his movie Shelter, and White Buffalo tracks later appeared on the TV shows Sons of Anarchy and Californication. The 2010 EP Prepare for Black & Blue brought Smith to the attention of Unison Music, which signed The White Buffalo; the label's heads, Bruce Witkin and Ryan Dorn, also co-produced 2012's full-length Once Upon a Time in the West, featuring the talents of drummer Matt Lynott and bassist Tommy Andrews. The White Buffalo represents an authentic homage to the times of hard touring, hard drinking artists who truly lived what they sang about. Seamlessly moving from heartfelt ballads to raucous bar songs, The White Buffalo sings with honesty and thoughtful reflection as he travels the road, sharing his music. Everything about him is big, from his imposing physical size to his amazing vocal range. From his whiskey-drenched, growling lows to heart-stopping highs, The White Buffalo paints a touching picture, whether he stands alone or performs with his energetic, charismatic band. After vigorously road testing his new material, The White Buffalo is releasing his latest EP, Prepare for Black & Blue on Ruff Shod Records, State Radio's imprint label through Nettwerk, this fall. Produced by Jimmy Messer, this collection of songs showcases The White Buffalo's stripped down unmistakable sound. [720] [721] [722] [723] [724] [725] [726]
