  • Grand Agent (, born Jared Lee Taylor, is a Hip-Hop Artist from Philadelphia. He began his career in 1994, when he formed the group NAME with Larry "Mr. Cisum" Fowler, and the now acclaimed theater director Ozzie "Old Man" Jones. NAME was at the forefront of an underground movement in Philadelphia between 1995-1998. Others to come out of that scene include Jill Scott, Bilal, Musiq Soulchild, Beanie Segal, Black Ice, Rich Medina, and others. In 1998, Grand Agent began his solo career with Czark Casket Records, a Los Angeles based indie label run by Zach Katz. Together with Katz, he produced his debut album By Design. The album featured production by Lord Finesse, Hi-Tek, Kut Masta Kurt, and Chops with features from Planet Asia and AG of DITC. By Design was released in January 2001 on Groove Attack Records, a powerhouse indie label and distributor headquartered in Cologne, Germany. The relationship eventually led to Grand Agent relocating to Cologne for 2 and 1/2 years. During his time in Europe, he toured extensively and Executive Produced his second album Fish Outta Water, with Groove Attack acting as distributor. During this time, Grand Agent began working with Jim Drew. Drew's lable Soulspazm Records handled the release of Fish Outta Water in the US, and a long term arrangement between GA and Soulspazm developed. Cashing into the Beat Society movement of the time Grand Agent and Jim Drew co-executive produced a Fish Outta Water Remix Album, The Beat Society Remixes. Grand Agent returned to the states in January 2004 shortly after the release of Fish Outta Water and The Fish Outta Water Remixes. The relationships forged in Europe, both with local artists and with US artists touring abroad supplied Grand Agent with a steady stream of recording opportunities upon his return home. At the suggestion of touring partner Dudley Perkins a/k/a Declaime, Grand Agent recorded an EP with OHNO entitled Under The Circumstances. It was released in 2005 on Soulspazm. Being at the height of the Myspace era, Grand Agent's impression on Europe followed him home. Work came in from Italy, which resulted in Regular. The EP is an English-Italian bilingual mash-up with Club Dogo, produced by Don Joe. Vibra Records of Milan released the project in 2005. Poland came next. The number one Polish producer and MC OSTRS produced an entire album for Grand Agent. Adult Contemporary was released in 2008 by Asfalt Records of Warsaw. A little while later Germany came calling, and Gettin' Away, a 2009 Soulspazm release was produced with Prickly Pear of Mannheim. Lastly, the UK. Grand Agent collaborated with Tea Sea Records founder Tom Caruana to produce two albums, The Ghetto Ain't A Place, and Agent & Raynge the album, a duo project with Grand Agent's wife at the time Liv L'Raynge. Notable collaborations include 2002's This Is What They Meant, a duet with Pete Rock and 2009's Minivan feat. Camp Lo.   • Asmereir [76] [77] [78] An eccentric punk-ska band from Lima, Peru with nine releases on multiple Indie labels world wide since 1996 working on a tenth release. Most of the band lives in Lima, Peru, the bass player Mark Reategui [79] is a graphic designer and musician based out of Oakland, California. Last year they played one of the biggest concerts of all local Peruvian rock bands ever opening for Leusemia. They get together yearly to play rock festivals in Lima, Perú.

  • Blackmill (band). Blackmill is a one-man dubstep act featuring 20-year-old Robert Card from Scotland.   • Blair Crimmins and the Hookers An American band out of Atlanta Georgia combining the sounds of ragtime, jazz, dixieland, and rock music into a unique and refined musical blend of sounds. The band consists of Blair Crimmins on a variety of instruments (though usually on either acoustic guitar or the banjo), a bass player, drummer, and an assortment of various brass and woodwind instruments.   • Blunderspublik is the musical pseudonym for Curtis Walker, an electronic music composer and multi-instrumentalist based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He has been recording and performing as Blunderspublik since 1997, and is still active today. Blunderspublik has released six albums to date [126], created a number of remixes, and collaborated on works to accompany independent theatre projects and short film/video [127]. As a composer, he was commissioned by the CBC to create an original re-imagining of Olivier Messiaen's Catalogue des Oiseaux, and by Winnipeg's Cinematheque to create an original score to Murnau's silent film Faust [128].   • BRAEVES is a rock band from Long Island, NY that was created in 2012. Members include Ryan Colt Levy, Derek Tramont, Thomas Killian McPhillips VII, and Nick LaFalce.   • Brains, The is a psychobilly horror-punk band from Montreal. They've put out seven albums; the most recent being The Monster Within released in 2015. [4]
  • Brimstone Coven is a metal band out Wheeling, WV signed to Metal Blade Records. Formed in early 2011, members include Corey Roth (guitar/backing vocals), Andrew D'Cagna (bass/backing vocals), "Big" John Williams (lead vocals) and Justin Wood (drums). They released their debut album, Brimstone Coven, under the Metal Blade umbrella in August, 2014. Their style of doom and occult metal has been highly praised and reviewed.   • Burning Hearts, a Finnish indie-pop band, is notable for its smooth female vocals, overall mellow sound, and lyrics about nature. Its record label in Finland is Solina Records. In the U.S., it has released its 5 albums under Shelflife Records. Its most recent album, Extinctions, was released in 2012 and includes the hits "Burn Burn Burn" and "Modern Times", the latter which had its music video compete in the Oulo Music Video Festival.[143][144][145][146][147][148]
  • Candy Claws Candy Claws [149] is a dream pop recording project from Fort Collins, CO. The band consists of Kay Bertholf, Karen McCormick and Ryan Hover [150] [151].   • Cassie Graves (born 10 June 1991) is an English singer-songwriter, journalist and entrepreneur of Irish and African-American descent, born in London, England. She has collaborated and performed internationally, including with emerging artist Alex Moir, and gained exposure in the international press, speaking about living with the rare condition Trimethylaminuria. She reached number 5 in the Reverbnation charts within a week of being on the site, and has gained further international exposure since this. Graves has also been featured for her journalism work in a number of popular online publications, including everydaysexism and Fire and Whisper, and started a media company, Gravely Changing, producing shows and small films across London.   • Chronic Town (band), [163], is a 4 piece R.E.M. tribute band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Formed in 2004, they have performed all over Northern California at venues like Slim's, Bimbo's 365 Club & Cafe Dunord as well as performances at corporate events, community festivals, and weddings. Their intention is "to give people the experience of seeing R.E.M. in a small club".   • Ciaran Lavery, Ciaran Lavery is a folk, singer/songwriter from Aghagallon, County Antrim. Lavery was frontman of seven-piece alt-folk band Captain Kennedy but left the band and began a solo career in 2013 with the release of his album 'Not Nearly Dark' followed by EP 'Kosher' in 2014. Lavery collaborated with Ryan Vail to create mini album 'Sea Legs' which was released through Belfast label, Quiet Arch in 2015. Ciaran Lavery played the Avalon Cafe Stage at Glastonbury 2015 and is playing other festivals within the coming months such as Secret Garden Party, Cambridge Folk Festival and Camp Bestival along with a tour of Germany in November following a re-release of his debut album. However, the band was still an incomplete duo until keyboardist David DeAngelis left the Arkansas Delta to see what the West Coast had to offer and brought bassist Neko along one night. While all four members began as complete strangers, they were brought together by a shared passion and need to create music reflective of their diverse backgrounds, tastes, and influences, a need that came to fruition when they went into Studio SQ in 2011 to record “Black Dream” with producers John Flores and Justin Sachs (Two Gallants, A B & The Sea, Foreign Cinema). What they could not have imagined was that during the first week of tracking, Adam’s father suffered a fatal accident and suddenly passed away. Dangermaker gained direct insight into a parable that artists have held throughout time — human experience is the substance from which honest and true works of art are formed. While the recording process nearly ground to a halt, the band ultimately used the tragedy as creative motivation and admit that “Without realizing it the experience influenced many of the new songs found on the record. Writing and recording became a process that brought us all together.” Hot on the heels of their 2013 debut album Black Dream, Breakup Records also released Light The Dark I in the fall 2014, which has received rave reviews and serves as a signed testament to the timeless maturity and solidity of the band's sound.   • Dez Nado is an American hip hop and reggae artist, songwriter/music producer, and TV producer from Jacksonville, Florida. I've been following this artist and he's been known locally for years, now he's gaining notoriety nationally and I think his case is truly unique, I'd like the pleasure of submitting a request for him to you all first because I know the next few months will be very newsworthy for him and his movement. He regularly updates his webpage [212] and [213] , both of which I follow, with photos from his shows, interviews, and news, giving his supporters a firsthand look into his budding career, which, according to his biography on Music Connectz Magazine [214] started meagerly when he was a college DJ in Jacksonville, selling CDs on campus and promoting his own shows during his radio show. I read that he was nearly killed by a gunshot to the chest, which he survived and started using his music as a platform for conscious art, progressive policies and non-violence. Apparently this led to him being seen by the right people and releasing his first mixtape album series "No Hands" which included No Hands, No Hands 1.5, and No Hands 2 originally distributed by KKR/Island/Def Jam, which includes his most progressive work in response to his position on the Trayvon Martin shooting and the “Stand Your Ground” policy in his homestate of Florida [215] [216] [217] [218] now distributed exclusively by MTV [219] [220] . More recently, Dez premiered a new cable reality TV series called “Life & Grind” (Bounce TV) that gives an even more personal look at not only his “grind” but other indie artists and bands who are trying to “make it big” [221]. Doldrums is currently signed to Sub Pop Records and previously signed to Arbutus Records They have also released a split 12" with Portishead on XL records. Doldrums has also collaborated with, been remixed by and remixed other artists, including being featured on a track on Grimes' 2012 Juno award nominated album 'Visions', having their 2012 single "she is the wave" remixed by Black Dice and remixing Grime's song "crystal ball". The band is known for it's chaotic live show and has toured extensively, opening for bands including Crystal Castles, Purity Ring, Grimes, Lana Del Ray and Black Dice. While Airick Wood is the founding and core member, the band includes members Steven Foster on drums, Kyle Jukka (aka Flow Child) on samples, Guy Dallas on synth and occasionally Daniel Benjamin from the band Moon King (Airick's brother).   • Down to Earth Approach was an American pop-punk band from Batavia, New York, active from 2000-2007. They moved to Los Angeles in 2001 with hopes of landing a record deal. Their lineup consisted of Dan Shepard on keyboards, John McCampbell on bass & vocals, Jonathan Lullo on vocals & guitar, Peter Metzler on drums, and Ryan McClur on guitar & vocals. They were signed to Vagrant Records from 2001 until their breakup. They released two albums, Another Intervention in 2004 and Come Back to You in 2007. This article on Vagrant's website ([233]) talks about a debut released in 2001 before they signed to Vagrant, but no evidence of this seems to exist. An article about this band was deleted in 2007, citing it as an article about a "non-notable artist", even though they had gained a considerable following and had released two albums at that point.
  • Downtown Struts (band) are an American punk band from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 2008, their music is described as stemming from punk and Americana influences.[234]. They currently have two studio recordings published. At 1970 he went to Greece and worked at the Hilton hotel for 3 years.
