How do I add an outdated information tag?

Hello,

Recently, I made an edit to the Intel article and you reveerted it, saying that I deleted some content. How would I add the outdated information tag without deleting content?

DmitryKsWikis (Dmitry K.) (talk) 02:32, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@DmitryKsWikis:I don't exactly understand what you are saying. To add the outdated tag, just add the code to the top of the page. The appropriate outdated tag is formatted as {Update|date=February 2016}}Hope this helps! FiendYT 02:33, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi FiendYT. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Coffee // have a cup // beans // 15:59, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Better way to handle Copyvio text

Hi FiendYT. Thank you for deleting the copyright violation from the article Breast cancer management shown in this dif For a copyvio like that one, a better way to deal with it is to place the template {{Copyvio}} at the top of the copyrighted text and {{Copyviocore bottom}} where the copyvio ends. That flags down folks who routinely deal with copyright violation. An admin may choose to delete the copyrighted text from the article history or even revdel if there was or might be a complaint from the copyright holder. You should also warn the editor who made the improper edit. I left a note on Lvt213's talk page.

You may already have received an email from me. Expect another with more detail soon. Keep up the good work, DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·ʇuoɔ) WER 19:01, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know! I was a little unsure what to do at that situation frankly. (: FiendYT 23:23, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RRTF update

Hey there! This message is going out to all active members of WP:RRTF. I just found this amazingly useful old template lurking among our pages. I decided to update it and create a new section on our project page that will hopefully inspire some more collaboration between members. Please go check it out, and feel free to contact me or make any improvements you'd like. Happy editing! -- 2ReinreB2 (talk) 02:19, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

FiendYT, I found a few issues with your DYK nomination.

First, the hook is too long. It is 205 characters, and the absolute maximum is 200—and we prefer it to be even shorter. I've stuck the hook; you'll need to come up with an ALT1, which can be along similar lines, but shorter.

The second issue is that the sources used to support the sentence that connects the 2010 crash with this one are only about the the 2010 crash. You need a source—FN5, the Adn.com source, should do—that explicitly connects the location of the two crashes if you wish to use the facts in the sentence in the hook. (Without that explicit sourcing, making the connection yourself is considered original research.)

The third issue is the factual issue. According to the sources, the 2010 crash killed five people, not four, and the plane had a total of nine people on it including the pilot, four of whom survived. This will need to be corrected, and the wording revised. In the second sentence of the Search and rescue section, I'd mention Flight 51 again, so readers are clear that you're back to talking about that flight's 2013 crash rather than the 2010 crash.

Best of luck in fixing the article and nomination; I don't imagine it will be very difficult or time-consuming. Be sure to post the new hook when you're ready. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:57, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@BlueMoonset: Thanks! I've provided an alternative hook. I had to revise a few words and take out a section, and even now, it's still pretty long, but it should be fine.FiendYT 14:56, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

DRN help needed and volunteer roll call

You are receiving this message because you have listed yourself on the list of volunteers at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers.

First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.

Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.

Best regards, TransporterMan (talk · contribs) (Current DRN coordinator) This is an informational posting only and I am not watching this page; contact me on my user talk page if you wish to communicate with me about this. RRTF request for comment

Hey there. Just wanted to let you know that the article Carter Kane is up for deletion. A discussion has been started here. -- 2ReinreB2 (talk) 15:44, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@2ReinreB2: Thanks! Ironically, I was the one who proposed the article for deletion.FiendYT 22:27, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sorry about that. I was just going through the list of RRTF members. Any elaboration you could provide would still be helpful, though, if you were willing. I actually do not believe the article is a notability violation, but I'm going to let RRTF decide whether to pursue things. -- 2ReinreB2 (talk) 00:31, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
