Art+Feminism Outreach Dashboard Interview
Hi Unionpearl,
my name is Maudite (Candela) and I am working together with WikiEducation in improving the Outreach Dashboard that is commonly used for the Art+Feminism Program (https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/). I have seen you are an active contributor and also have been instructor in several programs. Currently I am trying to perform some user interviews to talk about some of the features that we have implemented and understand better your needs. Also, I would like to create a include a new feature to the dashboard that could help the creation of drafs and common writing, specially for those articles that could be difficult to write due to the lack of resources in the mainstream media. I am sure that you have a lot of valuable feedback that could mean a lot to us and the future users of the dashboard.

I would like then to have a videoconference with you if you don't mind, but I am also ok with talking through email if you don't like that mean of communication. Please let me know what works best for you and of course if you would be interested in talking to me.

Thanks a lot in advance and have a great week.

Best, Maudite <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by Mauditecandela (talk • contribs) 13:54, 21 February 2018 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

A tag has been placed on Jane bissell grabhorn requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Jane Bissell Grabhorn article

Hello, was just reading the Irene Wellington article and saw your draft of this. Although I know nothing about the topic, it might interest you to know that there are a lot of oral history transcripts and other materials about the Grabhorn Press on the Internet Archive that I found while looking for pictures for another article: some oral histories here (seven separate interview transcripts, including a photo near the start of this volume), and also a lot of book digitisations here. Sorry for butting in before this draft is finished, but I wasn't sure if you'd seen these. Blythwood (talk) 00:09, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Unionpearl, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Claire Holt (art historian) has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

 • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
 • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
 • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
 • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
 • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
 • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:16, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Unionpearl. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Event page

Hello, I hope this event goes well. Just a recommendation - when you create an event like this, it's best to add categories for the event so it can be tracked (I've done this), and add it to the calendar and template. This allows people to find and track it, and also will likely increase the likelihood of remote support from experienced contributors who can correct mistakes on pages created and give feedback to new contributors. Hope this is helpful to you, let me know if any thoughts or questions. Blythwood (talk) 00:51, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Edna Beilenson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://librarianofbabel.wordpress.com/2015/02/19/bookmaking-on-the-distaff-side/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

@Unionpearl: Undoubtedly & unquestionably, this is my bad; an error on my end for tagging it as copyvio! I come across A LOT of articles which violate copyright guidelines and this one too got caught up amidst that, just hadn't noticed it was a quote which threw the error. My apologies & appreciate your understanding towards the same. Thanks.
