== RE: Did Dua Lipa REALLY Modeled Before Being a Musician? ==

You may or may not be familiar with her work but I had done this to MaranoFan's page back in April, s/he replied back to me that subject wasn't notable for that profession and ethnicity (Albanian born in Great Britain two days and three years after Demi Lovato and five months before Hennessy Carolina Cardi B's younger sister) cannot be included in opening sentence.

Took this to Lil-Unique1's page unfortunately no replies came in. So was she REALLY a fashion model to the likes of the Jenner sisters before becoming a singer/songwriter like in the leading sentence "English singer songwriter and retired fashion model" even though she is just 23.

And lastly, if you edited before the date(s) of 21 August 2015 researching her will come back with a did not match any documents message.

Best wishes,

"Malformed report"

Hi :) Regarding Special:Diff/894910621, as far as I remember, normal reports for revoking talk page access quickly get removed as "already blocked" by the helperbot. Has this changed or is there a better way to create such reports? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:51, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do a normal report and make the comment. Malformed reports cannot be handled by the bots. -- Alexf(talk) 09:31, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice, and I may need to try again next time, but would you really have noticed Special:Diff/877335988 in the 8 seconds that the report was visible? Do you regularly check the AIV history for clearly "done" reports to see if they may contain a comment requesting TPA removal? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 16:19, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Tough and not often but sometimes I do check AIV a few times a minute (3 or 4 when I have the time). -- Alexf(talk) 16:21, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An article

I just saw your comment in your summary on **********. I just wanted to know that when I click the diff link it redirects me to the article. It was like this RD2: Grossly insulting, degrading, or offensive material Could you explain what is going on? Sincerely, Masum Reza 09:41, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some school kid placed the name of a class mate or other kid naming him as a dickhead. We can't have that. -- Alexf(talk) 10:07, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I get it. But how you were able to redirect the diff page to the article? Sincerely, Masum Reza 10:59, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't. -- Alexf(talk) 13:20, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps the /64 should be blocked, instead of just this instance. I see previous instances of problems. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 19:28, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't do rangeblocks. Too much collateral damage in my view. If you strongly think a range block is needed, you can ask at ANI. -- Alexf(talk) 19:31, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
A /64 subnet on an IPv6 address is allocated to a single user (in most cases) and blocking the /64 is no different than blocking a single IPv4 IP with regard to collateral (again, in most cases). The same range, used by the same editor, has been blocked repeatedly since January 2018. I have reset the block for six months.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:43, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
A /64 on an IP6 address is a single MAC address; whether that's a single computer, router, or modem depends on configuration. It may be wider than a single IP4 address, but not wider than an automatically switched cluster of IP4 addresses. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 20:15, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I stand corrected then. -- Alexf(talk) 20:25, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Since I'm the admin who protected (and unprotected) the article yesterday, I wish you would have consulted with me first. El_C 16:39, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@El C: Did not notice until after it was done. You are correct. I saw vandalism in a current event. We can unprotect if you feel it is warranted. -- Alexf(talk) 16:42, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I feel it is warranted, so I have done so. It is the first entry on the Main Page ITN — and two or three instances of vandalism are to be expected. El_C 16:49, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@El C: Fair enough. -- Alexf(talk) 16:53, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)

ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.

Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.

We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.

For the Arbitration Committee, -Cameron11598 21:03, 4 May 2019 (UTC) Template:Z83[reply]

Himisaboo, World's Ugliest Dog People's Choice Award 2018

I'm not sure where to ask, so if this isn't the correct place, please let me know who to contact.

There is a notation that my edit was removed for advertising. Is there a way to challenge that? I read other descriptions and felt it was in line with those. For example, the details of Dane and Rascal are far more descriptive.

Can I add anything starting Himisaboo's win? Or is simply not going to be included on this page?

Thank you, Heather wilson Himisaboo (talk) 02:38, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Gizbert

Hi you reverted a correction on Richard Gizbert’s Early life bio. He is not in a relationship with that filmmaker anymore. He is single and using his Facebook as a source isn’t accurate as he has removed his status there and all images of his ex. He has not been in a relationship with that filmmaker since October 2018. Blelalersitre13 (talk) 04:38, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok but FB is not a reliable source. -- Alexf(talk) 09:15, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Hey I was just wondering if people don’t like new users like Me (am I allowed to edit talk pages) Please don’t ban me if im not supposed to be editing this

Who said people don't like new users? Not so. We want new users. We need good editors to help. What we do not need is vandals, and people that are not here to help with the Project. Asking a question as you did, is legit. There is no reason to block for this; (note that banning is a different concept). If you have any questions about how Wikipedia works, please ask at the Tea House. Please remember to sign your posts in Talk with four tildes at the end. -- Alexf(talk) 09:45, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request

Hi, could you kindly protect my talk page? It has been under attack by a long term abuser named "Manda Langsa". Thanks. Mimihitam (talk) 15:38, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see only one user (persistent vandal) has been blocked. Still want it? I am reticent to protect talk pages unless there is absolute need and then for a short period. Will watchlist page to keep an eye for vandalism. -- Alexf(talk) 17:25, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Sotero Cabahug

Hi, the page Sotero Cabahug was previously deleted by you for copyright infringement. I'm recreating the article on my draft page as he was also former Governor of the province of Cebu, Philippines.Verbosmithie (talk) 12:25, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That was deleted in 2011. It was mainly a copy from government websites. If you can do a good job, a start at least, following the golden rule, then I see no problem. -- Alexf(talk) 21:03, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the content guideline and the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. Toddst1 (talk) 00:52, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Toddst1: Not aware but it is in the article for Herman Wouk and properly referenced. All entries in that page (May 17) do not have direct references, but they are all pointing to articles, that a) make the subject notable, and b) the articles contain the proper references. This is daft. Do you start removing entire pages content for the date when no direct sources added, or do I? -- Alexf(talk) 00:54, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed a redirect from List of Lebanon architects to the List of Lebanese architects in the List of architects and you returned it to a redirect. Could you fix it, or let it do.. let go. (laissez passer laissez faire)

Deleted Page BillyBridge

I apologise for creating the reason my page was deleted. I only intended to show the Yallourn page how we'd incorporated the footage of old Yallorn into my clip.

It wasn't my intent to self promote just to share the footage.

Am i ok to recreate my Bllybridge Wiki?

Billy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Billybridge (talkcontribs) 01:28, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Billybridge: No, it is not. Autobiographies are strongly discouraged. Writing about yourself is a serious conflict of interest[. If you are notable and there are reliable sources, someone in time will write an article, but you should not be the one to do it. In fact, your userpage is already in violation. We take this as self-advertisement and Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place for promotion. In a nutshell Wikipedia is not about you, and an article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. If you have any questions about how Wikipedia works, please ask at the Tea House. Lastly, always remember to sign your posts in Talk with four tildes at the end. -- Alexf(talk) 09:02, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft deleted

I have had a message saying you have deleted the page Antonio Gaidon I was creating and have spent many years researching. Could you perhaps tell me how I can retrieve the page to re-edit. Many thanks. MasisaM (talk) 07:46, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@MasisaM: The page you are referring to was Draft:Antonio Gaidon. It was deleted per CSD G12, a copyright violation of a website for this subject on treccani.it which clearly stats the material is copyrighted. The site is in Italian, but even a translation of it would still be copyrighted. If you can contribute material for this subject, please start a draft and have it reviewed. As long as it is not a copyvio, and it complies with the Golden Rule, then it should be fine. -- Alexf(talk) 10:02, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
