User talk:V-Play

I've unblocked V-Play to allow for a name change. He's proposed a new name that doesn't appear to be promotional and has answered the standard set of COI questions. I've also left an admonition to avoid any COI edits for a while, in case it wasn't clear. As always, consider this note an exemption from wheel warring and revert as needed if I've missed something. Speedy deletion of Rinat Timokhin

Hi, you speedy-deleted Rinat Timokhin. According to WP:NFOOTBALL: "Players who have appeared, and managers who have managed, in a fully professional league, will generally be regarded as notable." The list of fully professional leagues is maintained in WP:FPL and Russian First Division in which he plays is fully professional. I will be recreating the article.

Geregen2 (talk) 17:36, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Ok. Make sure you add enough sources then. -- Alexf(talk) 18:01, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Alexf. I see you deleted Daniel Sherman; could you please restore it because he is a member of Neve (British band), and I want some more information on him before I decide whether or not to redirect? Thank you.--Launchballer 21:41, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

The article had no sources to support inclusion. I could userfy it for you towork on but not restore it as-is to mainspace. What do you think? -- Alexf(talk) 21:46, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
Absolutely fine - to User:Launchballer/Daniel Sherman please.--Launchballer 21:53, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Re Kyle vander Kyup

I would have thought a link to an oil painting of Kyle which hung in the 2000 Salon De Refuse would have rounded out the due respect to the legacy he has left athletics in Australia. Kyle vander Kyup — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glendafelljones (talkcontribs) 23:02, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

Maybe but you see, posting a link to your own website is considered spamming your site. Is the image available anywhere else? Do you have rights to post the image? We have to be very careful about spam and about copyrights here. -- Alexf(talk) 00:04, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

speedy deletion of KASHKA

I didn't realise this was set to be published, I thought I had started a draft...

Now how do I resubmit the proper article on the same topic?

I believe the artist is important and there is a lot of press and media about her. I don't know why my page was deleted when there are thousands of stubs out there that arne't even significant. I thought mine would be able to be edited and added to.

Samanthagreenwood (talk) 20:01, 9 September 2013 (UTC)samantha

Samantha: Yes you did publish an article in mainspace, not in a sandbox. The article was deleted because it did not assert notability. In this specific case, it did not show how it meets the requirements under WP:MUSIC. You say you do not know why it was deleted. There is a big norte in your user talk page explaining the lack of assertion of notability and what to do about it. You also say that "there are thousands of stubs that aren't even significant". You realize that this is immaterial? You are welcome to try again, if you think you can show how it meets the requirements. Furthermore, any article can stay, as long as it follows the Golden Rule. -- Alexf(talk) 00:07, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

User talk:Rudrene

You deleted my page Rudrene (talk) 19:08, 9 September 2013 (UTC): Talk:n-body Problem. Its path from the main webpage n-body problem a few paragraphs down is now highlighted in red.

The Talk:n-body Problem contained a compete solution and proof of the n-body Problem: a solution and proof which has to date never been effected before. Run this by any physicist and he will clearly see and understand that it is indeed a solution. It allows, for example, anyone to calculate the remote planetary forces when, say, they are subject to a large gravitational force like the Sun (classical problem). It solution and proof has been much desired -- putting it on Wikipedia allows the whole world to see and use it. Removing it is sad.

Nobody has ever been able to solve it before: at least not in the last 2000 years.

I am new to Wikipedia webpage creation and editing and am on a rough learning curve at that; and need help in that area. I am truly sorry if I have violated any rules.

The page was almost complete when you deleted it. Please re-install that page so I can complete it. Thank you.Rudrene (talk) 19:08, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Just for the record I am a mathematical physicist who has absolutely no desire to be known.Rudrene (talk) 19:08, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

It just occurred to me you people think I created spam.

What I created on my Rudrene (talk) 20:08, 9 September 2013 (UTC) Talk:n-body Problem webpage is not spam. Have some who knows physics check out what I have.

I started this Talk page because I was shocked to find most of what is on the n-body Problem 's main page was either flat out wrong; or in the least, wanting.

Thank you for your time and kind consideration.Rudrene (talk) 20:08, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) No. We don't think you created spam. By linking to your own website, that link was WP:SPAM, and basically removed all references, and showed that you had conflict of interest in the creation of the article ES&L 20:27, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

I did not know it was wrong to link from a main webpage to a Talk page.

I will remove the link immediately: then would you please reload my Rudrene (talk) 20:55, 9 September 2013 (UTC) Talk:n-body Problem page.

I sure learned the hard way didn't I. Very sorry for the error.Rudrene (talk) 20:55, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure you have "learned" - you're directly involved in the topic of article; you have conflict of interest; you shouldn't be writing about it. Unfortunately this is a lesson that academics do not understand well about Wikipedia - it's not a place to write about one's own work - it's the polar opposite of what academia is used to ES&L 21:34, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Rudrene: There are a few things wrong here. Obviously you have not read Wikipedia's help pages. I am not saying your page looks impressive but it also looks too much like original research, a big problem in Wikipedia. Also you obviously have a conflict of interest in this article. For some reason I do not understand you wrote your material in your user talk page, specifically counter to the indications of what talk pages are not supposed to contain. What is wrong with creating a sandbox under your own page? As per instructions you seemingly did not read in detail, I can point to the ones in this very edit page, where I request to please start a new section for any new issue (point #3 if you are wondering). Instead you completely disregarded it, proceeded to bunch your message hanging of a totally unrelated previous issue (thereby hiding it, not the way you would like to call attention to your message, isn't it?), and later you came back and started another set of messages and conversation below another unrelated subsection. Now all of it is fixed as I had to create your subsection and move paragraphs around. Please read the instructions on talk pages in the future. It will be much appreciated.

Now, after this long intro, I'll refer to your first issue. You said I deleted your page. What page? I do not recall (and with hundreds of deletions a month you will excuse me if I do not remember it). In fact I checked the last 1,000 deletions I did and could not find it. Another request at the top (#1 to be exact) asks to please post a redlink to it. Is it that much to ask? As I do not recall deleting any page like that (please correct me if I am wrong by pointing to it) I do not see what I can do for you here other than point you to the help pages or to a nice place to ask questions: The Teahouse. That's the best place for your questions. -- Alexf(talk) 00:07, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

deletion of Edgar S. Cahn

Hi Alex

Curious about deletion of Edgar S. Cahn

Cahn is so famous - he invented time banking, but now the timebanking page (Time_banking) has a link to him with no destination page

Johnmcarroll (talk) 12:53, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

I reviewed and restored it. You are correct. Turns out the OP blanked the page He's allowed except when there are substantial edits by some other people. I should have checked more thoroughly at the time instead of taking a blank page and a request from the OP at face value. The article seems properly sourced so restored. Thanks for the HU. -- Alexf(talk) 13:12, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Done I see the request was done 6 days ago. The request board is very busy so it takes time. Technically they have already put in the request so the block does not matter. Unblocked per your request. -- Alexf(talk) 16:54, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Sorry to be a pain, but do you mind if I ask your opinions on editor names I am unsure about? Thanks, Matty.007 17:44, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
Not a good idea to engage a single editor on this as one person may not be around here at the time you need the answer. In case of doubt you could ask at the board's talk page (UAA in the case of usernames) or at AN for more consensus. If you think it is blatant enough a username vio then report it and let the admins decide.-- Alexf(talk) 17:47, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I unblocked User:Hifzasakhi, as I saw a reasonable chance that it was a user editing in good faith. I hope you don't mind, and that I won't regret it any other way either - you never know what might come up. Cheers, Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 19:17, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

As you know, I do not block lightly. Especially Voablocks without sufficient edits and warnings, but today I deleted the following similar pages by different users (very strong smell of socking or meatpuppetry at work): \brain page for BME, \brain page, Brain page for BMED 4781 Alzheimer's Disease, one of them by our friend User:Hifzasakhi. Look at the date and time of these creations. Coincidence? Maybe. I watchlisted this user. Let's see how it goes. -- Alexf(talk) 21:29, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Seems consistent with the statement from Hifzasakhi that they need to create an article for a class they are taking. Several members of the same class could be independently creating the pages, maybe their professor/teacher/instructor gave less them less than ideal directions. Monty845 21:59, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Could be. From where I stood at the time it looked like vandalism. As you know there are ways to establish a class and that is not it. -- Alexf(talk) 22:38, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, can I ask why did you 'decline' the speedy deletion on the Pupula duplex article? It's a myth and the article is presenting as a real medical condition. A clear hoax as per the article in the edit summary. The only person to object was an IP address with a warning for disruptive editing on their talk page, who had no argument other than 'I've saw some websites that said it was true' with no links or citations. And there's a irony in saying the link provided is not reliable, when the article is citing 'Ripley's Believe it or Not!", and a text from 1918 that discusses it in terms of a superstition and doesn't actually support its existence. 121.75.142.211 (talk) 21:40, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

You asked good questions. It made me rethink an action which I took in haste per the OP's request. I went this time and read the purported sources (Ripley's) in detail. I agree with you that they are not reliable. Then I find the OP was indeffed today for trolling. Article speedied. Apologies and thanks for the HU. -- Alexf(talk) 21:51, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Blocked account and edits

Alex,

I appreciate and value the Wikipedia philosophy and guidelines. And I understand why they are so important. In that spirit I am writing to clarify the following:

You have blocked my account under MODEStudios. MODE is the artistic entity (along with 7Wonders, another collective) under which I work. It is my 'name' as an artist.

You have also 'corrected' an edit I made to this page where I am repeatedly credited as working for a company I don't work for, and where that company repeatedly claims credit for a wide variety of art they are not responsible for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminosity_%E2%80%94_Ignite_the_Night!

On that page I am identified as working for Chauvet Lighting. Additionally Chauvet is repeatedly credited for the work of myself and ALbert Crawford (the Lighting Designer for the project), when in fact they were a supplier of gear only.

Alex, despite the rules and spirit of Wikipedia, it seems that this whole page is actually authored by one or several companies to promote the project. While I am always thrilled to see projects I am associated with promoted, I feel obliged to point out to you that this page's existence is itself suspect under Wikipedia's guidelines, and the wide variety of misinformation on the page is also verifiable via references... Please feel free to view the sites at www.bonniol.com, RWS's website, or the magazine LiveDesignOnline to see articles which clearly attribute credits appropriately.

I would like to appeal that my artist name, MODEstudios, be unblocked as an account on Wikipedia so that I may meaningfully contribute. My reputation and work are widely known throughout the industries of entertainment, architecture, and interactivity as MODE, and this is easily verifiable. MODE is me, and I am MODE.

Finally, I am very curious about how the spirit of Wikipedia is actually enforced. I am acquainted with numerous individuals who have written articles about themselves or their work using 'shadow' names or having employees do it. It seems such an obvious epidemic of 'slight of hand' that it would seem to demonstrate even more integrity to just allow people to take credit for writing about themselves, and then also (as is inevitable) deal with the ongoing phenomena of being corrected or edited by verifiable sources with verifiable information. I ask this in a true spirit of curiosity and inquiry, and I look forward to what you have to say about that.

Very grateful for your consideration in this matter,

Thank You,

Bob Bonniol — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.227.154.187 (talk) 20:47, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Bob, indeed there are articles done by other people, pushing a subject. Can't be avoided, but the rules are clear. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with close associations to understand. As per the username, you can easily request to have it changed to MODE if you want, and if there are no objections from the 'crats, they'll do it. MODEstudios on the other hand is a problem, as you have been told as it denotes a company or organization which is not allowed by the username policy. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 23:13, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Page submitted that has been deleted

Hello,

I submitted the following page, which has been deleted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Joyful_Company_of_Singers

I have read the blurb around the wiki site (I am a new contributor, so please bear with me!) and it appearst that it was deleted for copyright infringement. This may be because it contains text from the organisation's homepage (www.jcos.co.uk). I do not believe it to be copyright infringement, but that's because I wrote the text in the first place, so I hold the copyright on the homepage as well. I wasn't sure how to make it obvious when I posted the text in the first instance.

I would like to make it clear that I have not submitted this text in any way to be a "Puff" piece, but for encyclopaedic content. This is because the Joyful Company of Singers is referenced in various places around Wikipedia in relation to composers we work with and for, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=joyful+company+of+singers&button=&title=Special%3ASearch so I thought it made sense to have an article in place in the same way that other choirs do.

Please would you therefore consider approving the article for creation?

Kind regards,

Susannah Zannieflump (talk) 14:32, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. As per approval of the proposed article, I am not a member of the AfC project. The requests go there on a pending list and they get to consider them as soon as it is possible. Considering they have a backlog, it may take a few days. In order for the article to be accepted, besides the copyright issues, it must comply with The Golden Rule. Noting that it may be mentioned in other en.Wikipedia pages does not confer notability in any way. -- Alexf(talk) 14:41, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Many thanks for your swift reply. There are wider reasons that I believe it to be notable, which I can also provide, but I am not sure who to do that to - I don't want to spam you, but I have found much of the Wikipedia instructions to be quite techy and complex to navigate, particularly in how to prove souces of info. Do I now just wait for the AfC to provide a response and then worry about it?

Susannah Zannieflump (talk) 15:11, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

No. It needs to be resubmitted to AfC after the issues are corrected. It was deleted as we cannot host copyright violations, so AfC does not have it. I cannot userfy it for the same reason of copyvio. If you insist in posting as-is, and say you hold the copyright, then look at the link I provided earlier to help you on what to do. As per the claims of notability it is rather simple. Read the minimum notability requirements for organizations and read about reliable sources to see what they are. -- Alexf(talk) 15:15, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Oh I see now. That's what you meant by the title. I am busy at work and missed it as it was not explicit on the text. Ok. Never mind. -- Alexf(talk) 16:59, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Apologies...and question

Hey Alexf,

Sorry about the misplaced AIV request. Jumped in a bit too quickly, obviously. I do have a question, though - upon glancing at the user contributions for 216.163.208.2 the past few days, it appears the majority of them are nonconstructive. I'm looking at the last few entries on the talk page for this IP, and am wondering if this is when I should put a level 3 vandalism warning, as two vandalism notifications were made on 18 Sept, and two again on 20 Sept and 26 Sept.

Based on past history from this IP, it doesn't appear it's being used constructively at all. Just looking for your input so I can learn for the future. Thanks! GRUcrule (talk) 14:44, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

It's a school. Schools unfortunately do not teach ethics and social behavior properly if at all. They also do not police or safeguard their computers. Therefore they are blocked more often and harder than other shared IPs. That said, based on their history you can issue a level 3 for their next vandalistic edit, but we can't block unless they are active now, they are recent frequent vandals and they have been properly warned (at least a level 3). -- Alexf(talk) 14:48, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Gotcha. Makes sense. Appreciate it! GRUcrule (talk) 15:41, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

You recently deleted Charging smartphones by antennas. However, just after you did that the person who created it created the talk page with a contested deletion section. A bit of info. George8211 conversations 19:08, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. The proper action in that case is to propose it for CSD as G8. Deleted. -- Alexf(talk) 19:10, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Alexf, this is my first article on english wikipedia. So, please, understand if I made some mistakes. I inserted 3 reliable sources for the Cássio Vasconcellos article: A well respect cultural institute in Brazil (one of the biggest), a well respect museum in Beijing (the most important for contemporary art), and his books avaiable worldwide.

If you need any more info, let me know. Thanks.

Newuser's third attempt in creating page.

Hi, this is the third time I'm about to CSD a possible autobiography by User:Ahmad Qamaruzzaman; the user hasn't replied to the numerous warnings and I'm not sure how to proceed with this again. Thanks, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 07:31, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Page deleted. Redirected pages also deleted. User warned. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 09:48, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

My username Danteorangestudios

Hi, I'm contacting you regarding my username "Danteorangestudios" First off, my actual name is Dante Orange and I do not have a studio, company, or anything like that. It's just a name I give myself for online use. So please do not delete my account because of that. There is no such thing as a Dante Orange Studios. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Danteorangestudios (talkcontribs) 07:09, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

You blocked him for spamuname, and he's talking about links he did not think he'd saved (or something). He's requested unblock, but I can't find any contribs except his requests for unblock. Odd. Peridon (talk) 17:34, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

A filter disallowed it before getting posted. Check Filter 149 from UAA page. All they did was attempt to spam their website in Radiation Exposure Monitoring. -- Alexf(talk) 18:09, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

LogoLounge

Can you unblock LogoLounge (talk · contribs)? He had a request to change his username already when you gave him a username block. Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:44, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Never mind, I see the request was denied (procedurally). Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:45, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Alex. Looks like this user simply made a bit of a mistake with their choice of username - they actually seem to be constructing a half-decent article in their sandbox, and don't seem to have any actual affiliation with the McConnels. I'm more than happy to grant their unblock request, but just wanted to run it past you first. Yunshui  12:58, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Ok. -- Alexf(talk) 13:03, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
Cheers. Slightly complicated by the fact that he/she may also be User:Ajgee93; once I've cleared that up I'll unblock/close the templates as necessary. Yunshui  13:15, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Please re-block.

User talk:ThaddeusB

This is a response to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Btcjam_bits#October_2013

I can understand how it may look like vandalism, but I believe I have ThaddeusB's consent to contact him through his talk page because his Wikipedia is what he gave me to contact/identify him. If there is some way of privately sending a message to a Wikipedia account I would prefer to use that. If not, is there some way I could modify my message so that it would not be considered vandalism? Btcjam bits (talk) 15:54, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not to be used for personal chit-chat of issues not related to building the encyclopedia. If you need to contact him privately send him an email. There is a Send and Email link in the toolbox on the menu. -- Alexf(talk) 21:46, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Sankararamank

Dear Sir My Name isUser:Sankararamank I Would Like to Write an Article "One Minute Apology". Send Me Request for Creating That Article And I Created One Article On My Name User:Sankararamank Please Semi-Protect That Article —Preceding undated comment added 11:13, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

You do not need to ask an editor for a request. You can create an article yourself in a sandbox. If you do not have yet enough permissions to post it to mainspace you can always send it to Wikipedia:Articles for creation. To learn about writing articles, you can read Your First Article. As long as the article follows the Golden Rule it should have no problems. As per your request for semi-protection, these requests should be done at RFPP. Note that you should have a valid reason for it, which you have not explained here. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 11:21, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

I'd like to draw your attention to the notice right above your block notice for this user, which would be the notice informing them of a discussion at WP:RFCN regarding their name. The process has been open for all of two days, and there is no indication the user has even seen any of the messages about their name. It is not really appropriate to block in such a situation. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:00, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Hadn't noticed. Unblocked to give them more time. Will watchlist. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 17:08, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

best regards Afrodita Jam — Preceding unsigned comment added by Afrodita Jam (talkcontribs) 07:52, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

And the redlink is? Please, there is a reason why I ask for certain information at the top of this edit page. There are literally hundreds of deletions a day. Impossible to remember them all. You left two messages here from two addresses. I looked under both and neither one seems to have created that article. Unless I can find it I can';t give you an exact reason. Now, on general principles it was probably because it was not sourced and did not establish notability or it was an advertisement. Having an article in the Russian Wikipedia has no bearing here as they are run independently. The requirements for articles here are fairly strict. Put in simple terms, for an article to be here it must follow the Golden Rule. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 09:48, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
[Update]: Searching again I see there was no article of that name. No wonder I could not find it. What you are referring to and you did not say, is that it was advertisement in your user page. There is a message left in your talk page telling you we do not accept advertisement of any kind. Your writing had choice phrases like "Baku’s finest address " and "exciting new destination". Totally unacceptable. Please also note that Wikipedia is not a blog or Web hosting service. Although every user has a page, you are limited on what you can put in it. If you want to learn how to use Wikipedia, please visit the help pages. If you want to ask questions or ask for help, you can visit The Teahouse. Recent level 2 warning you left on my talk page

Hi Alexf, I was using rollback to revert vandalism to that page, and you say I vandalized that page. Perhaps it was around 11pm in my area and I'm too tired and not realizing what I'm doing. So please forgive me. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 22:59, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Your edit added "# MoyesOut" to the David Moyes article. Not exactly a constructive edit. Please be careful in the future. -- Alexf(talk) 23:07, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
When I use rollback to revert it, the '# Moyes Out' came out of the rollback confirmation page. Should have used Twinkle or popups. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 04:10, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Iraqi1Bot

Good Evening Alex,

Why have you removed {{delete}} from Iraqi1Bot page ?! It is my own page & I created it & I want to remove it. But if you want to keep it "I do not know why", SO, keep it. --عراقي1 (talk) 16:14, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Sorry but the request came from a different user. In order to remove stuff from a user page, the user herself has to request it not someone else. Log in to that account (and be aware of Sock puppetry issues and request it. -- Alexf(talk) 16:22, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
User:Iraqi1Bot is BLOCKED, so how can login using it.

Look here you will see I created it, & it was deleted by User:باسم. I hope you believe me now. --عراقي1 (talk) 17:39, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

The account is blocked from editing but the account's Talk Page is open. You can log in and request it there. By logging in it shows you have the password. In any case, what does it matter? The account is blocked because of the username. You should not have more than one account unless you declare it and have a good reason for it. -- Alexf(talk) 17:52, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

User 98.197.200.120

Hello! You recently blocked this user for two weeks. They responded on their talk page with an incoherent, all-caps rant in Spanish or Spanglish. And that is all they have EVER done: in the nearly a year they have been here, every single edit by them has consisted of nonsensical foreign-language rants, which seem to be about some individual that they consider to have historical or religious significance. The user does not respond to suggestions or to blocks; they just post another rant. This account has NEVER made a constructive edit to Wikipedia, and I would like to suggest you consider a permanent ban. If you would rather not do that unilaterally, I will take them to AIV or ANI, whichever is the appropriate venue. Thanks! --MelanieN (talk) 18:09, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

The proper place to report is at AIV or ANI. In any case I have removed their talk page access for the duration. We cannot block shared IP Addresses indefinitely as users change. Please also understand that there is a difference between a ban and a block, so a permanent ban is not possible in this case. Thanks for your help. -- Alexf(talk) 18:16, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation. MelanieN (talk) 20:38, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Request

Hi Alexf, there are several users who are engaging on my talk page. Can you semi-protect my talk page for 3 days? I am afraid if IPs vandalize my talk page again. My talk page was protected in the past due to persistent vandalism. Can you also semi-protect my user page indefinitely? Thanks. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 16:20, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Semi-protected your user page. I do not see much vandalism in your Talk Page. Although annoying, an idiot saying "hai" is not that much of a problem and the IP was blocked from editing for a while. If it really gets bad, please request at the proper board: RFPP. -- Alexf(talk) 16:31, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
There is this prominent IP vandal that I met when reverting vandalism on September. He vandalized some of the user talk pages which was reverted by me later. He made personal attacks on my talk page, calling me 'china plateface'. He was later reported on AIV by another user. After he was reported, he changed the report which was to report me for racism. When I saw that, I reverted his edits. In his edit summary, when he undid my edits, he even said 'Undid revision of the china plate'. In his revenge of being blocked for vandalism, he appeared on 30 September in another IP address and vandalized my talk page with the same thing. I then asked Kudpung to semi-protect my talk page for 3 days due to persistent vandalism by several IPs. I am afraid if he would vandalize my talk page again for revenge, though it is already one month ago. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 04:36, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

AfC

I disagree with the advice you gave to User:SuperMarioMan about double tagging G13s, and in fact I would not only advise, but if possible require exactly the opposite. See my reasons there--basically, the other G criteria are most of them much more basic and much more important than G13.

Similarly, I disagree with article deletions about not using both G11 an A7. I always use both when they apply, and I have advised other admins to do likewise. I think that in many cases they complement each other. It serves as firmer advice to the creator, and avoid many challenges, and often serves as a clearer explanation. again, this is more than a personal preference--I think everyone should do this. I think many admins already do so also, and I in fact learned it years ago when I was a new admin from watching the more experienced admins. DGG ( talk ) 17:46, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

I see your point. I'll consider it whit more time this weekend (at work now). My idea is that it is confusing and I prefer to use the most egregious of them, but you do have a point, Thanks for your insight! -- Alexf(talk) 17:50, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Beach 'Visiting Omaha Beach' is a large Paris based company running

between big business and individuals.

Yes. I am annoyed.

Ok. I understand now where you are coming from on this, and I understand that you could be annoyed. Basically you are misunderstanding how Wikipedia works. In Wikipedia every communication is public and we prefer it that way, so, by using user and article's talk pages everyone can share and contribute or collaborate. Private email is used only for private (i.e. personal) information that should not be made public. What you received is an automated email from a non-repliable address informing you you have a message. You are then supposed to go to your talk page and reply there, or respond in the poster's talk page like you did here. If the account is blocked, your avenues of reply are your own talk page, which is almost always still open and where you can ask questions or request an unblock with the instructions provided in your blocking notice. as per the username block, yo0u have to understand (if you read the username rules by now you do, what the issue is. To make it clear, it does not matter what the size of the operation is, one-man band or a multinational corporation. If the username denotes or even hints at shared use, we have an issue as each account must be one-user and one password and cannot be shared. I apologize if this is an issue ,but changing your username is an easy way to solve it. -- Alexf(talk) 16:49, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Restoration of Al Mujahid

I understand why Al Mujahid was deleted. However, I believe that the article should be restored, because the subject meets notability and played a significant role in 1971 Bangladesh genocide. The formation of Al Mujahid was formally advertised in Dainik Azad (a leading Bengali daily in 1971) by Ghulam Azam on 7 April 1971.মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের সঙ্গে গোলাম আযম জড়িত (Google Translate [1]). The International Crimes Tribunal's [judgement on war criminal Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, quotes Sunset at Midday by former East Pakistan Central Peace Committee member Mohi Uddin Chaudhry where he mentioned that the Urdu-speaking Bihari Muslims were generally known as the Al Mujahid. The role of Bihari Muslim collaborators in the 1971 Bangladesh genocide as the perpetrators are known. They were involved in ghastly massacres such as the Golaghat massacre. Al Mujahid was in the same league as the Al Badr and Al Shams and often mentioned together. Considering this, I would request you to restore the article.
