January 13

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on January 13, 2024.

U.S. Route 93 in Alberta

Seems unlikely to be a plausible redirect, and a bit silly to have a US highway entry for a province in Canada. These were two separate highways that just happened to share a number across the border. Molandfreak (talk, contribs, email) 23:19, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Arena metal

non-existent term. google shows zero results related to music FMSky (talk) 22:41, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

And what makes this related to arena rock? --FMSky (talk) 11:09, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a form of commercial rock music aimed at a mass live audience. Jean-de-Nivelle (talk) 11:22, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hertz (person)

Recently created as a result of a request AFC/RC. However, there was discussion that suggests there is not consensus Heinrich Hertz is the primary topic for people with that surname, with which I agree. I propose retargeting to Hertz (name). Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 21:21, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Hertz (name), per proposal. I wasn't aware of how many other notable people there are with the same name when I accepted the request. Luke10.27 (talk) 21:54, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • For context, the redirect was created after 176's comment and before my comment. I commented there to explain why I thought the newly created redirect was fine as a WP:PREDIRECT, given that ~75% of the pageviews for relevant people were for the physicist, followed by about 1/10 of that of that for the founder. However, I'm just as happy with retargeting it because WP:INCDAB's "threshold for identifying a primary topic for such titles is higher". SilverLocust 💬 22:42, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for pinging! I suggest a keep per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, due to Hertz being the unit named after Heinrich Hertz. Otherwise, retarget per nom. 176.33.241.125 (talk) 07:27, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Red (Bollywood film)

Not mentioned in the target article. In addition, the edit history has an edit which represents some sort of subject, but was redirected by its creator shortly after. If there is another existing article which this redirect represents, I am not able to find it. Steel1943 (talk) 21:01, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chief Electoral Officer(India)

Delete per WP:RDAB. Lack of spacing between the title and disambiguator makes this redirect implausible. CycloneYoris talk! 20:50, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Artist to record label redirects

No mention at target, all previously removed per WP:LISTPEOPLE, which requires both Wiki articles and sources. No other plausible targets can be found. Delete these redirects pending future notability. Jalen Folf (talk) 20:37, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tubo(Mythology)

Delete per WP:RDAB. A lack of spacing between the title and disambiguator makes this redirect implausible. CycloneYoris talk! 20:22, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - created by me during a page move, I neglected to uncheck leave a re-direct it seems Josey Wales Parley 20:26, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Khushbu(Sepak takraw)

Delete per WP:RDAB. A lack of spacing between the title and disambiguator makes this an implausible redirect. CycloneYoris talk! 20:17, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Income tax rate

The current target page is specifically about US federal taxes. Few pages make use of this redirect, but two of them are about towns in Finland. Would "Income tax" be a better target? Jean-de-Nivelle (talk) 15:58, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reka Tara

Foreign language natural disambiguation, unlikely ever to be useful to the average English reader Joy (talk) 14:15, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Tara (Drina). This is the native name of that river, and the overwhelming primary topic for the exact term on Google results. Add a hatnote to the Russian river or the dab page. Thryduulf (talk) 22:03, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rijeka Tara

Foreign language natural disambiguation, unlikely ever to be useful to the average English reader Joy (talk) 14:14, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tara (rijeka)

Foreign language disambiguation tag, unlikely ever to be useful to the average English reader Joy (talk) 14:14, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Note: I've bundled the two nominations, given the identical rationales and timestamps. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 17:41, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jimboboiii

Via edit summaries, this is the online alias of the shooter. However, this alias is not present at the target article, and at a cursory glance it does not seem as if this alias is an important detail to include there. Due to no mention of this title anywhere on Wikipedia, it seems as if this could be deleted. Utopes (talk / cont) 08:21, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. This nickname does not appear in the landing article; it has no significance. WWGB (talk) 08:49, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Per WP:R#DELETE point 8. Too obscure to be useful, anyone who knows this name could easily find the article at one of the other 35 redirects. Jamedeus (talk) 22:58, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AI Gore

Tagged as an r from misspelling... and that's putting it mildly. Getting to this page would not arise from a spelling blunder, but from the deliberate intention of typing a capital i as opposed to the name of Al. RfDing this as I thought it may be in reference to an artificial intelligence bit related to Gore, (which surprisingly this page DOES make mention of "artificial intelligence" once, although not in relation to his name.) Utopes (talk / cont) 08:19, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Not a plausible misspelling. WWGB (talk) 08:50, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep: plausible OCR, etc. error. Currently harmless. 🌺 Cremastra (talk) 13:16, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete since it was created a few months ago, meaning this is most likely an unlikely misspelling. Steel1943 (talk) 16:58, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep typographically identical in multiple fonts -- 65.92.247.66 (talk) 21:37, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Cremastra and the ip editor. Thryduulf (talk) 22:05, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

HaBilti Miflagtiim

Term is not mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia, or on Google / Bing for that matter. Purpose of this redirect is unclear, but could still be a translation I'm unfamiliar with. Utopes (talk / cont) 08:03, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Cheng (actor)

Paul Cheng is not mentioned at the target page, making this redirect confusing. "Paul Cheng" appears in various contexts around Wikipedia, none of which seem to be actors, nor is Paul Cheng. Utopes (talk / cont) 07:58, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Google search indicates he is playing a minor, unnamed, character. It is unlikely a mention of such a character would be added. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 14:52, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ossea

Potentially misleading redirect. This word is mentioned only in the infobox of the target article, and it seems this word is also used for the names of several species of animal and medical conditions. In addition, from third party search engines, it seems that associating this word with its target may be a WP:FORRED issue of some sort. Not sure what the best path forward is here, but from all these findings, I'm not convinced readers looking up this word are intending to locate the target of this redirect. Steel1943 (talk) 14:31, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Steel1943: Should it be a disambiguation page instead of a redirect page? Jarble (talk) 00:33, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jarble: Probably not because the word seems to not specifically refer to any base type of subject, but rather sort of a descriptor, unless we do such things with WP:PTMs for species, which I do not think we do. Steel1943 (talk) 02:02, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WPKX

Is there any particular reason why WPKX has continued to redirect to WUCS all this time, when the call sign has long since been reassigned to WPKX (AM)? Usually in this topic area, the primary topic with regard to a call sign title is the current station with the call sign, not a redirect to another station. (There is also a WPKX (disambiguation), for what it's worth.) WCQuidditch 02:43, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Wcquidditch: From just a cursory glance, it might have to do with a leftover redirect from the move you made back in 2012. Just guessin'. - NeutralhomerTalk • 23:03, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thoracolumbar

Though the word "thoracolumbar" is mentioned once in the target article, or is not clear that it is mentioned in a way which defines the word or makes it clear that any part of the target article is what readers are looking for if searching this term. There are a few articles and redirects on Wikipedia that begin with "Thoracolumbar", but it is unclear if any of them adequately define the word "Thoracolumbar" in a way which would validate the redirect targeting any page over others. (Creating a disambiguation page at this title would most likely fail WP:PTM.) Also, Wiktionary:thoracolumbar exists, and "Thorocolumbar" is most likely a misspelling of "Thoracolumbar", so I've bundled it with this nomination. Steel1943 (talk) 19:33, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget: Proposed retarget: Vertebral column#Thoracolumbar, it's defined there. I added an anchor for it. Thanks for the info! Facts707 (talk) 17:14, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That may not be helpful or what readers are looking for since the subject there is named Thoracolumbar division, which already exists as a redirect to that section. I believe readers may be looking for something different that what is stated at the proposed target, given that the redirect is a partial title match for "thoracolumbar division". Lumbosacral

Not mentioned in the target article, leaving the connection between the redirects and the target article unclear. However, the word "Lumbosacral" is the first word of several articles and redirects on Wikipedia, but I cannot determine if any of them would be a good target for this redirect which would be the defining target for this redirect. (Creating a disambiguation page at this target would most likely fail WP:PTM.) Also, Wiktionary:lumbosacral exists. Steel1943 (talk) 19:24, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cervicothoracic

Not mentioned in the target article, leaving the connection between the redirect and the target article unclear. Per Wikipedia search results, there may be a connection between this term and Stellate ganglion, considering that Cervicothoracic ganglion redirects there, but that seems like a partial title match situation. Other than that, Wikipedia's search results for "Cervicothoracic" seem to be all over the place with no clear definition. Note that Wiktionary:cervicothoracic exists. A1 Road (Zimbabwe, etc.

This is the set of 28 redirects that start with the letter A. All of these case have disambiguation errors in the form of missing parentheses, therefore making them unlikely search terms, and all have received zero pageviews in last 30 days (Source: [1]) Utopes (talk / cont) 05:45, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article was vandalized via renaming. It was moved back by another user, but the redirect still exists. lullabying (talk) 01:41, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching this! I've since CSD tagged the redirect as G3 (vandalism), hopefully should be taken care of soon. Utopes (talk / cont) 02:08, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
