Alex Lynn (born 17 September 1993) is a British racing driver who was born in Romford, Essex and now lives in London. He is currently a factory driver for Cadillac Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Previously Lynn has won the Le Mans 24 Hours for Aston Martin Racing, Sebring 12 Hours for Cadillac and is the reigning European Le Mans Series Champion. In 2021 Lynn won the London round of the Formula E series driving for Mahindra Racing.

Career

Formula Renault

In 2010 Lynn won the Formula Renault Graduate Cup and went on to win both the Formula Renault UK Winter Cup and the 2011 main series with a dominant 15 wins combined. At the Formula Renault Eurocup round at Silverstone, Lynn took pole position and finished second

Formula Three

2012 saw Lynn race for Fortec Motorsports in British Formula 3, finishing the season in 4th place, with a race win at Silverstone and 5 podium places, as well as being the first rookie to ever earn pole position at the Macau Grand Prix.

Racing for Prema Powerteam in 2013, Lynn placed 3rd overall in the championship with 3 race wins, 14 podiums and 5 pole positions. In November that year, Lynn returned to the Macau Grand Prix dominating the weekend winning from pole position and becoming the first Briton to win since 2007.

GP3 Series

Lynn won the  GP3 Series in 2014 as a member of the Red Bull Junior Team programme, winning on his debut at the Circuit de Catalunya and going on to dominate the championship.

GP2 Series

In two years with DAMS, Lynn won five races, scored two poles and finished sixth in the championship both years.

Formula One

As a Williams test and development driver for 2015 and 2016, Lynn drove both the FW37 and FW38, testing at Catalunya and Silverstone.

Formula E

Making his debut for DS Virgin Racing in New York, Lynn put the car on pole position. Between 2016 and 2021 Lynn drove for Jaguar and Mahindra achieving one win, three podiums and two pole positions.

World Endurance Championship (WEC)

Since 2016 Lynn has driven successfully in every professional category of the WEC, winning 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020 for Aston Martin Racing in the GTE Pro Category and qualifying on pole on his LMP2 debut at Le Mans for G-Drive.

In 2022 Lynn signed for Cadillac Racing as a factory driver after a successful stint in the IMSA Championship - including his second win at the 12 Hours of Sebring with Earl Bamber and Neel Jani. Driving the #2 Cadillac V-Series.R in the 2023 WEC season with the season’s highlight being third place at the 100th Le Mans driving alongside Earl Bamber and Richard Westbrook.
