DYK for Mason Morelli
On 12 March 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mason Morelli, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that at the age of 28, Mason Morelli became the first player in Vegas Golden Knights franchise history to record two points in their National Hockey League debut game? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mason Morelli. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Mason Morelli), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

- @Bruxton:, thanks so much for the review. I really liked the template you used and might use it for my next review! HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 00:47, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- My pleasure. I have enjoyed learning about Boone, and I am not well versed in Hockey. I spent much time in DYK promoting articles to preps. I learned so much in that project and now I use much of that knowledge with GANs. They have a template in DYK and eventually I stopped using it. I find it useful to go through the GANs methodically and then check my suggestions against the criteria. I have found that I enjoy working with an editor one on one, making suggestions. I hope to review another of your articles! Bruxton (talk) 00:56, 24 March 2024 (UTC)

Sock puppets of SNIyer12
I found the following ducks of repeated sock puppet master SNIyer12 that was blocked in 2012 and continues evade their block by using multiple IP addresses all based in Youngstown, Ohio. The current IP addresses they have been using recently are 173.91.195.44, 24.101.112.71 and 24.101.176.50. They always make a series of edits in older team season articles without any comment, they usually make one or two useful edits try to hide from scrutiny and then start being disruptive. A range block is not needed. Deadman137 (talk) 21:54, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

- Will do, sadly they cannot let go even 12 years later. I'll have to monitor more articles to catch their next attempt. I've been dealing with them off and on for a decade so I know their pattern. Deadman137 (talk) 02:41, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

- Sammi Brie (submissions) with 642 points, mostly from 11 GAs about radio and television;
- voorts (submissions) with 530 points, mostly from two FAs (Well he would, wouldn't he? and Cora Agnes Benneson) and three GAs;
- Generalissima (submissions) with 523 points, mostly from 11 GAs about coinage and history;
- SounderBruce (submissions) with 497 points, mostly from a FA about the 2020 season of the soccer club Seattle Sounders FC and two GAs;
- Tamzin (submissions) with 410 points, mostly from a FA about the drink Capri-Sun and three GAs;
- Kusma (submissions) with 330 points, mostly from a FA about the English botanist Anna Blackburne and a GA.
Competitors may submit work for the second round until the end of 28 April, and the third round starts 1 May. Remember that only competitors with the top 32 scores will make it through to the third round. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs. As a reminder, competitors are strictly prohibited from gaming Wikipedia policies or processes to receive more points.

Possible Mastergerwe97 sock
I found an IP editor 172.9.239.10 that has similar interests and editing tendencies that match Mastergerwe97. The locations are not a match but they did admit to using a VPN after getting blocked last year to evade their block and the editing pattern is suspicious. 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs
Just look through the last 100-150 edits to this article when you have a minute and you'll see my argument to semi-protect this article for a while. Deadman137 (talk) 23:24, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- Deadman137, Done. Very excited to see who gets the second Eastern Conference wildcard spot tonight. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 23:31, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- There is a scenario where it could go to tomorrow night, but then I have to be on top of all the possibilities. Either way sit back and enjoy the games tonight. Deadman137 (talk) 23:40, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- The removal of the Mailloux/Newhook milestones as well as the Wideman retirement entries within their respective tables is disruptive to this page and should likewise be subject to the same sort of repercussion. This was done strictly out of spite in highlighting that 3-way trade formatting was/is prelevant across other NHL team pages. 2605:B100:B24:F40C:8C4F:588C:F15B:C723 (talk) 01:21, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
On an unrelated but hockey related note we have ban evading edit warrior using multiple IP addresses at 2023–24 Montreal Canadiens season, the article needs semi-protection. Deadman137 (talk) 00:54, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
The IP that was causing the problems at 2023–24 Montreal Canadiens season has created an account User:HabsFan2293. They also edited while on their block. The block started with this edit [1] and as you can see they started back up later that same day. [2]
It is a clear duck and the article will likely need further protection. Deadman137 (talk) 04:28, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- Deadman137, Seems I have free time since I am certainly not celebrating a win tonight. EC protected. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 04:38, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks again. That was not an entertaining game, anytime I start working on the game summary that early and it's not an elimination game then I know it's bad. I've covered so many playoff games that I'm neutral in most games now, even with teams that I don't like. Plus I cannot really show any favouritism in the role that I work in. Deadman137 (talk) 05:30, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
Can we get this semi-protected for a few days? Deadman137 (talk) 01:33, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- Is this still necessary? I see an few edits by an IP but it doesn’t look excessive. I think the experienced editors working on the article have it under control. Please let me know if this changes. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:41, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

Soft block on User:Natasia_demetriou
Wondering about the source of the lead photo of Natasia Demetriou with a cat, I looked at the user's contributions to find that you had blocked them for using the name of a famous person. But looking at the user's other contributions, I see no reason to think that the account does not actually belong to the real Demetriou. Might the account blocking be erroneous? Matt Gies (talk) 22:12, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Matt Gies I do not view it as a mistake at all. It is entirely possible it was a member of her PR/management team as well. Per the blocking instructions:
