"When the empire is defeated, the world returns to its natural state."

Are there any actual examples of this? In Dune, rebel Paul Atreides eventually claims the throne for himself and the empire survives. In Star Wars, the Galactic Empire is replaced by the New Republic, but there are no major changes in technology. Dimadick (talk) 19:43, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
